I felt like shit just 5 minutes ago, was on the edge of bursting into tears. This song helped me calm down. Love you, Hurt, the only band that can cheere me up with song about dying, lol.
He also says that people who write sarcastic songs will die, too, and the entire band/people around "sarcastic song writers. Guys with tattoos, drummers and bassists and engineers, too. And every last person that sang in this room. They will die". I think he's telling us that he's the sarcastic song writer, which might negate everything he says in the song before. Anyway, just found this song since Amazon music recommended it based on my 90s Alternative taste, and I'm glad I did. It's a great sentiment since I do believe that it's true that tons of people quietly think about death constantly (at least I know I do), and actually expressing it out loud in song gives certain peace. It's good knowing that other people (like whoever wrote this song) also thinks about death, so much that it's put into a song with backup happy vocals chanting "we're all gonna die". Makes me feel less alone and strangely possibly happy.
Listening to random HURT at work while working up a quote with my boss. Flowers comes on. He listens, listens..."Shannon, what the fuck?! That's some cheerful music you got us working to today". :P
I first heard this song on the radio. A few years ago. And i loved it I been looking for the song every since find it recently. And the whole time it was by a band i know. I seen these guys at bandcamp a while back . They opened up. And they kicked ass. I would see these guys again first chance i get.
When I was like 5 or 6 my dad would play this song when he was cleaning the house and now that I'm older and we are going though covid-19 this song this song is so much more meaningful now to me
I'd like to point out this lyric "And the asshats that download and never buy tunes" Does it seem a little ironic while listening to this song on youtube?
This song started playing while I was playing a game about a zombie apocalypse that broke out in the 1920s and it was scary how fitting it was for the game
some people may think this song is morbid or wrong but i think it is what they say death is just part of life .. accept it, love it and dont be afraid of it
this is so funny how am i just now discovering this Hurt song? At first I thought it was a cover, sounds like it could have been written in the 60s or 70s, but Hurt wrote it. Such a cool funny song.
someone on twitter just asked what would be the worst song to play at a funeral... Haha!! it's this song! I have no clue why it makes me laugh so much, but it does. we're all gonna die! † ♥ ;)
i'm playing this at my funeral it's great, starts off all quiet and shit then BOOM YOUR ALL GONNA DIE!!! Its great might be able to make it a double or triple funeral depending on the capacity of old people in the room lol ahhhh i'm going to hell
Played it at my bio moms funeral. Few ppl were pissed but I know she would have loved it. Had the pleasure of performing with these guys years b4 she passed great guys. if our paths ever cross again I plan on letting them know that and thanking them for this amazing tune.
Hovsep Mardirossian exactly what brought me here. I haven’t thought about this song in a while but the more I read about the Coronavirus, this song keeps popping up in my head.
It's hilarious, really. & It's not sick if you've gotten past the phase where you've accepted death is inevitable and that your sorry behind isn't going to escape from it.
I play this song when I'm feeling down to remind me that nobody gets out of here alive.
I thought I would never find this song again, cause it is not on Spotify. Finally!
It actually is. It plays at the end of that(such a thing)
Finally just figured out that this song is the second half of "That (such a thing)" on Spotify.
