    Wow what a cool track! Never seen a track shape like that and the position of the flag man.

      It was like a rounded edge square .Really exciting racing .

    Reading, Friday night, and Flemington on Saturday, Tracks where they came to race and the shows were always first rate from the promoters and track personnel, 😎

    Ah Flemington. Rookie Sportsman ran their own division. Top 3 would make the Sportsman (was 339 ci, later 358 ci) small blocks at the end of the field. This might have been the second to last or last race of the Rookie season that year. They usually ran 10 races until graduation and the crowning of the Rookie championship. In this case, Allamuchy, NJ's Guy Howie won the championship in the 19. He later moved up to big block modifieds, running the John Burnett engine/chassis combination. Guy had a temper and wound up getting kicked out of Flemington, among other tracks. Had wins at Bridgeport, Lebanon Valley (NY) and Thunder Mountain before retiring. Owned a 360 sprint car and ran with the URC for several seasons. I last saw him in the pits at Williams Grove in 2013 and he was already in ill health. Helped work on his 19H modified at Nazareth and for Super Dirt Week.
