What has got me hooked on PTX has always been their arrangements and how they sing such different styles of music. I tend to tire of artists if they do one style of music only, even if they do it well. I like to get surprised, charmed even educated. I never thought I would have liked hip hop or rap or techno but, done by PTX, I love it all. I also really love that they all shine individually, eventually and in due time. They all have great leads in different songs and otherwise, support the lead with amazing harmonies. None of it is easy. They are super hard workers. I’m more hooked than ever. 🤗
Since this is an album celebrating their first decade together, I see this song as a nod to Superfruit: Scott & Mitch. I’ve seen that room used in the video and those suits before! Mitch in the rafters! Amazing harmonies! And Kevin!!!! The room decor changed to reflect each member which is really cool. They’ve worked hard to stay together and all the while respecting each other. When one was down, they cared for each other! Actually I thought the lyrics were fairly profound. We spend way too much time being “in our head” worrying about what the world thinks when in fact the person who brings you coffee in bed is the only one you need to care about and who truly cares for you. They will “hurt with you” or “be first to search for you” or “hold onto you”. That’s loyalty and love.
I haven’t done a statistical analysis but my gut-feel guess is that on songs with a lead, Scott leads 35-40% of the time. Mitch follows with the number of leads and Kirsten and Matt follow. I don’t recall any Kevin leads as his contributions are required in most of the songs with his beatboxing. It could be argued that he’s the most important member of the group. They’re all so good and it appears that no one has an egocentric requirement to sing lead all the time which is pretty spectacular in itself.
I think this is their second album of originals. On the first, look for the song and video Sing. It makes any bad day way better! (Really... great song and video.). I like your reaction. 👍🏻
This one was split pretty evenly between Scott and Mitch I thought bc Mitch sung the chorus and a verse while Scott sung just a couple verses, nice reaction man

Also they have released another single from the album Be My Eyes which is a Kirstin lead, She owned it. Happy Now and the Lucky Ones was a scott lead. It's nice to see Mitch have his moment in the spotlight too - the album is quite balanced with leads overall and in terms of singles from the album this is the first time Mitch has had a main part. He is incredibly talented and it's nice to see him get his moment in the spotlight as they all deserve
It's more like the Return of the Mitch Freddie Mercury 'stache. He's had this look before, although the hair is different this time around. On this new album, the main writers of each song do the lead vocals for the most part. And I know you have an affinity for Kirstie (a LOT of us do), and she wrote or co-wrote more than half of the songs on the album, so she gets her turns on the leads! And you need to check out the title track The Lucky Ones as it tells the group's own story.
Did you know that Pentatonix sing in Japanese too with one of the most famous female vocal groups in Japan? You should check them out "Little Glee Monster feat. Pentatonix - Dear My Friend" There are two versions of it: 1) Official video on Little Glee Monster channel 2) Live recording version on THE FIRST TAKE channel (minus 1 person due to health condition) (don't forget to turn on the subtitles)👌
I recommend their version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and their original "Run to You". Scott also started an a cappella group with kids. It's called acapop Kids! Check it out! They have about 15 videos out.

He doesn't have the sponge bob sleeve anymore, he covered them with a black sleeve. Something to do with the artist that made them I think. But yes, he does have a lot of tattoos on his arms and torso.

The "Trio" (S, M & K) are all fairly representing the 'Tat' life on a fairly large scale when you look closely.
It's their SECOND original album. I like these exciting songs, with deep messages. Mitch is divine ! Thanks for choosing this one. :)
