Honestly speaking, you've got a sub. I've just watched your two videos on marble painting (How to paint faux Carrara marble and the do's and don'ts of painting faux marble) and after watching the former, I had a look at your subscription number and was shocked to see you being below 1k subs. I had honestly expected to see well over 250k. These videos are amazing and highly professional. Well done and keep up the amazing work!
This is the ONLY video I agree with! CMYK VS RGB but we were taught at school that they are Ultramarine Blue, Red, and Yellow. By doing that, we're mixing both families of colours and it's imossible to get accurate results. I've made a video about make an accurate colour wheel because I've never been able to come across an accurate one in a shop. Great video, very imformative.
Tessa! Fantastically well made video. My husband watched it with me, as he has gotten into painting recently. Anyways, glad to see you doing so well and happy! 😊 I might be in New York next fall for a visit and we should meet for lunch or something. 안녕!
HIII!!!! I would love to see you, anytime! I have tried in the past to find you on social media to keep up with what you're doing, but couldn't find you. You can email me at this email or the one connected to my FB/Instagram if that's easier :)
@@BehindtheScenics yeah I’m one of THOSE people that doesn’t have any social media hahah! I will look for an email to send you! I’m still in contact with Shelby every once in a while, and I talk to Mara Dayley frequently. But other than that, like nobody 😂 but I was so glad to come across your channel because I have wondered so many times how you are doing!
Great vid. I liked and subscribed and will look into more of yours! Questions? Tons, but I'll limit to this for now: If the CMY model is better, which colors work best, from what company, and is there a color chart available? (I use Golden, Winsor Newton, Grumbacher and Liquitex). Just trying to put what you've demonstrated into practice! Thank you ;-).
CMY model being "better" is depending on what you're looking for, buuuut, each company will have slightly different names and such, especially for the Cyan. Look to see if they have a cyan, if not, look for blues with a green bias (not purple, like ultramarine). That could be.... sky blue, pthalo blue, permanent blue.... cobalt might not be bad. It'll vary. The differences between, for example, two "cyans" from two different companies, or even two quality levels within the same company, will be the pigment quality. Cheaper pigments will not produce as "pure" a color as a higher quality. That isn't to say it is always the more expensive option, but your safest bet usually isn't the cheapest. I PERSONALLY don't like Liquitex, I usually go for Golden or Windsor Newton. Magenta is usually called magenta, easy to find. Yellow... cadmium yellow is usually pretty good. You don't want a yellow that is toooooo orange. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions! :)
There was a book on how the human eye worked and saw color that I read many years ago. I haven;t been able to remember it's name. Can you tell us your favorite on the off chance they might be the same?
Hi! I don't think I've read any books that specifically go into much detail on how the eye works and sees color, anything that comes to mind was pretty superficial. I do have a lot of recommendations for the history of pigment, however, if that interests you!
You are fabulous. I’ve been searching for color theory explained and can’t wait to dive into all your tutorials. Thank you so much!
You are such a good teacher! Thank you for posting all that you do.

Thank you! This channel has been around for only about a year and a half, perhaps in time we'll get there :)

Excellent tutorial. Took me years to learn this. Thank you

È possibile avere i sottotitoli in Italiano? Grazie!
I think there is an option to do it when you watch the video! If you click "CC" and then "Settings", you can select Italian. :)
@@BehindtheScenics Thank you, I try!!!
