My top three scenes in the Mission Impossible series would have to be the Burj Khalifa scene from Ghost Protocol, the disarming of the nuke in Fallout, and the entire train sequence from Dead Reckoning Part 1.
I've always loved Cruise, wether it was his early work or mission impossible series.
If we're talking about scenes in general, and not just action scenes, then Ethan talking to Kittridge, and Ethan finally realizing it was Jim all along while talking to him from the first movie, both these scenes deserve a spot.

Climbing the Burj Khalifa was nerve-wracking for me. My hands were sweating profusely not because I'm afraid of heights, because I'm afraid of FALLING.

This list deserved a lot more scenes from MI: Fallout. Easily the best Installment in the franchise. Great villains, awesome set pieces and insane stunts.

I had never seen the Mission: Impossible movies until right before Dead Reckoning Part 1 came out. My stepbrother’s a fan and was watching them all to catch up, and I was like “Oh, these are badass.” We went to see DRP1 in theaters and I started watching them all myself after that. Ghost Protocol is my favorite due in no small part to that climb ❤

im not a fan of Cruise but you gotta admire the incredible things he's done as an action movie star. No one even comes close to him in terms of dedication and works
I can understand the difficulties whilst choosing the top 10 that you guys went through 😅. But the fact that the underwater liquid cooled array scene isn't even on the list tells us the kind of heights in practical action the franchise has reached.
Surprised the underwater scene from Rogue Nation wasn't mentioned.
I think the reason for it is because Tom Cruise held his breath underwater for 6 minutes. While Kate Winslet in Avatar The Way of Water broke that record by holding her breath underwater for 7 minutes and 15 seconds. It's not every day that you break a Tom Cruise record.

Ghost protocol was the top gun maverick shot in the arm to the MI franchise. Such a great way to come back,still kicking myself I miss dead reckoning in threaters but I'm definitely checking it out when its available to rent.
Mission Impossible as a whole is pure unadulterated badass.
The vault scene in the original Mission Impossible and the Burj Khalifa climb in Ghost Protocol get me every time. But after seeing Dead Reckoning Part 1, the airport scene from that one is definitely a winner.

I realized I was a Cruise fan along time ago. Then realized I had been watching movie's with Tom in them just about my whole life. Legend, TAPS, Born on the Forth of July, Vanilla Sky, both Top Guns, and all the Mission: Impossible movie's.

So in the latest M:I installment (Dead Reckoning), Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) drives a motorcycle off the edge of a cliff, free falls away from the bike and down the wall of the canyon, opens a parachute at an uncomfortably low altitude to try and jump aboard a fast-moving train in a mountainous region. That's all fine and dandy - very impressive, very death-defying. My problem with this sequence is this (SPOILER ALERT): Upon landing, Ethan just happens to crash through the one reinforced window pane at the one exact spot on the one exact train car to knock the one villainous henchman out of the car through the reinforced window pane on the other side at the one precise moment that this action is required without getting so much as a scratch. Rrrright. No one is THAT good. Or lucky.

Sorry, Rebeca, but on "Fallout," Cruise DID get a serious break. On the Grham Norton Show, they slowed down his jump (BTS), and you could his foot TURN SIDEWAYS. That's pretty damn "serious" in my book! His hobbling was for real and as the Pro he is, he kept on "running" (hobbling)! We WILL miss Ilsa; we did hear Fergusson is too tied up with other projects to continue in ep 8. Cruise is a questionable human (eg Scientology et al), but he has to be THE BEST action actor EVER!

HALO stands for High Altitude Low Open. For this scene Cruise jumped out of the airplane at about 25000 feet altitude and deployed the parachute at very low altitude, when he was close to the rooftops.

It's a shame to see the direction that mission impossible went. It used to be good plots, great chemistry, and action set pieces that are unique and involve smart methods to get through them. Now it's just a Bourne Identity clone.
