i think its more that indie games are where a lot of the gems tend to be since anything with enough investor money behind it these days starts becoming way more concerned with crunching developers to death and wringing players dry with predatory microtransactions and gambling mechanics than making something "fun" or "interesting"
The song starts Low and sad as if to say “Years of work, all for nothing”. But then when the violins and stuff come in it says “But this is how it once was!” But the song still keeps that minor, sad sound, reminding you that all of it is in the past.
I want to report you for typing such a true comment because it is 2019, and nothing can be true anymore. That is why 2008 was such a beautiful time, because troubles didn't exist for that time.
Love the blend of the synth strings and the midi/vst strings. The way they slowly blend and get more indistinguishable from one another as the song goes on always perfectly represented the progression of the world as it got more and more mechanical to me.
I seriously think this is one of the best songs in the soundtrack. It's just inexplicably beautiful in every way possible. World of goo was probably one of the best games I've played.
I need this in "Welcome to the Information Superhighway" (an upcoming game to be created by Tomorrow Corporation) Edit: Can’t believe this got a live instruments version in the sequel!
"This place was full of life... Now there are only some unstable ruins that crumble every hour" Say the violins at the beginning, and the flute that follows them could be like "It was very beautiful and extraordinary... A place where everyone could micro-transact as normal…Everyone was welcome here, everyone was welcome with…MOM.”
The moment I kept walking, I saw something that really made me happy and shocked, there is a city, and it’s amazing, it feels like I’m in the future, and this giant computer, far away

IF YOU CRIED LISTENING TO ALL OF THESE LIKE THIS COMMENT WORLD OF GOO YOU'RE AMAZING LOTS OF LOVE FROM MY FAMILY YOU WERE THE GAME YOU ARE THE AMAZING GAME
At the time when World of Goo was popular there was no such trend to make concerts of video game music as there is today. World of Goo is forgotten now, so more likely noone will do that.
It's weird that this got upvoted today, 'cause just two days ago I got my Spigot dev environment set up since it's a still-popular surviving CraftBukkit fork that is safe from that one asshole's stupid DMCA claim. I can't properly express my disdain for the person who caused Bukkit to nearly die just because he was mad that it was actually owned by Mojang.
Emmanuel Roche-Pitard Bukkit's an API, a set of programming methods that helps you do something. Bukkit helped you make Minecraft mods. Bukkit was taken down under DMCA after somebody who worked on the project for years shadily decided that his contributions weren't legal. He decided this because Minecraft's creators secretly owned Bukkit for years without anybody knowing, and apparently his head is so far up his own ass with his "screw the man" attitude that he thinks the whole community should suffer. Luckily I recently discovered a legal version of Bukkit called Spigot which is still updating, and I intend to dive back into plugin development.
Hello again, old friend. When I discovered this game I was 6 years old, now I'm 20 and I never expected a sequel, welcome back World of Goo.
Same! Came back here because of the Game Awards trailer too.

Anyone ever notice how it's the smaller games that are truly an experience?
Beautiful fact
The truth
I mean, big games can be amazing, too. But usually the better games nowadays are smaller scale.
