- Joe ambushed Kevin Walker from Technics to get a first look at the new SU-GX70 - a new streamer and amplifier that's packed with features and sounds GREAT!
Technics make use of trickle down technology, so you can reap the benefits of technology used in more high-end pieces of kit. This means removing jitter, high-speed silent power supply, LAPC, and space tune.
This piece of kit sits beautifully in the middle of Technics' range. It's full of features that make it multi-purpose and a great option for all sorts of uses.
It was brilliant to chat with Kevin and see this all-new product - come and take a look at it at the Hifi Corner!

Looks amazing and everything I’m looking for in an upgrade to be fair, however I’m just a little worried about power? 40w in 8 ohms? I have slightly hard to drive speakers, not sure if this would be ok with these?
It’s not a power house, but we have had it driving some ATC SCM11s which are notoriously difficult and it sounds very good. What speakers do you have?
@@hi-ficorner I have buchardt s400 so 4ohms, 88 sensitivity, they sometimes take a bit of juice to get them pumping, alot higher sensitivity than the ATC though you’ve tried so gives me hope!
It does also have pre out if you have a power amp?

A great product ahead of its time! I still use and love mine!
I am sure Panasonic is making a great product, but they are not committed to app. Perhaps it does not matter if spotify connect finds it directly.

It is digital till you get to the speaker outputs then analog.

This looks like a great product, but I guarantee it will be let down by the software…..it’s always the weak spot with these products.

It's made in MALAYSIA but I am bemused that we can't get it here in MALAYSIA. Why the discrimination? Do we not deserve good things?
