I bought one and am using it in a lake in Kentucky. It is fun to use! It shows that the fish are deeper than I expected - so I changed my lures and promptly caught fish! It is fun to use with children, even if you aren't really fishing.
I don’t know what’s more frustrating fishing and not knowing if there’s any fish under the boat or using this knowing there’s fish under the boat and not having them take the bait. It’s was easy to set up. Graphics are great.
I purchased one of these but have not been able to create bathymetric maps like I had hoped. Is this feature available on the Deeper start or only on higher end Deeper models?
Is there a way to prevent this or a different deeper product from potentially getting snagged or it flying off during a cast? Looks like a great tool, but loosing things in the water happens.
Great question. There's a very reliable way to make sure you'll never lose your Deeper START: - Use a fishing rod with sufficient casting weight - at least 50g is recommended. - Use a strong line and knot. We recommend using braided 16lbs line, or even stronger one for extra safety. - Prior to casting, make sure the line is not tangled at the tip. - Once the bail is open, make sure the line is clear of it and it won’t close shut during casting. - Check the condition of your fishing line prior to each fishing session with the Deeper. Make sure there's no tears or damage.

I used the sonar in a few outings, mostly close to my phone on the kayak. Fish readings are completely inaccurate. The 4th or 5th time it started losing connectivity to the phone every few minutes. Battery life is short. Being still under warranty, I emailed customer service. Their answer was that because I haven't complained in 2 years, it's not their fault. Passive aggressive and dismissive. I strongly recommend choosing another sonar (like castable Garmin), because of the above mentioned problems and customer service.
Hello, we are sorry for the way you feel. We are trying our best to help you and provide the solution following our return and warranty procedures. Your sonar was never returned within 30 days, therefore we are offering warranty service. Please, answer to our email correspondence in order to proceed.
Just purchased mine haven’t when out to pounds yet but looks complicated already too use the phone to set up to see what’s under the water 😐 anyone els found a video how to set up the graph on the one 😭
Works like a champ pinging away in a bourbon tumbler filed with water - but can't get it to connect, or stay connected at the pond. Disappointing and frustrating.
Thank you for your comment! Try connecting this way: 1. Place sonar in water next to you 2. Make sure mobile data is off on your phone, Fish Deeper app should be closed 3. Open Wi-Fi settings, find Wi-Fi "Deeper START" and connect to it 4. Only now open the app and press "See How", app then should connect If not - write us at support@deeper.eu, we will make sure to help you :)
@@deepersonarfr Thanks for your reply. I've ensured Mobile Data was disabled before, but I'll try the sequence you've provided. I also notice there are high-power electrical transmission lines running over the retention pond I am fishing. Could such a strong electrical field interfere with the connection? In any event, I appreciate your interest and support, and beleive me, I want this sonar to work. It's just been a frustrating experience, to date. Cheers!
@@Blackbird-jg5hi Thank you for your reply! High power lines mainly could affect the GPS connection stability, but the connection itself is very rarely affected by that. The best option would be to check any other spot, where these cables would be further from you just to eliminate that option :) In any case - if there still be issues after attempting to follow our suggested steps - write us an email, we will make sure to find a solution!
If anyone buys this thing today, either they've changed the app or the way they do business. Nothing in any of these videos says anything about paying for the service. Not only did I buy the device, but when I downloaded the only app I could find, it asked me to create an account, then when I got to the end of the download, it told me the service to use the app was so much a month. Nice videos, but someone needs to make a video that tells the whole story. Also, the owners manual is written in 40 languages. When I finally figured out EN was english, I read the information in it and all it was is general information about charging it, and taking care of it, no real useful information as to how to set it up. Every video I watch on it is at least 3 years old. Bought it from Amazon on Saturday, got it Sunday, returned it Monday.
Pretty sure you only pay if you want the premium membership. When that pops up about paying just press the X in the top right corner and you should have access to your sonar
@@chuck5096 I returned mine, after 2 days the WiFi wouldn't connect. Now have the pro +2 and it's amazing. The sonar is free to use, u canpay to join a premium service but you don't have to
I'm not knocking the technology, but even with a cell phone mount you can buy to attach your phone to the rod, it's just too awkward to use. You have to devote an entire rod, or cane pole for that matter if you are flipping for fish in a heavy cover. But it's difficult to cast, reel, look, and read the screen, then by the time you decide to fish a spot, you have to set your rod down, now your phone is on the ground. Too expensive for the job it's designed to do and adds too much work for a sport that I don't earn money at anyway. But that's me.@@chuck5096

Any recommendations on rod/reel/line to use with it?
Does it come with a mount
So how do we switch from meters to feet? And how does he have full screen and i have 2 split screens?
I put mine in the water. Still no wifi. So frustrating. It's fully charged and I'm out fishing with the kids.. 😥

I don't know I struggled to keep it linked with my phone and the two pieces came apart on a 50 foot cast into water I'm writing it off
Yeah mine is fine too
Reviews are showing that it comes apart & not sealed well.
