Update: I got my hands on a Deeper Pro+ which is the top of the line Wifi model. I've taken it out ice fishing a number of times and disconnects are *not* an issue so I may have either been using the older technology or I had a truly defective unit. I will try to produce a review just of the new Deeper in the very near future. It has been great on the ice so far.
Do you have these still should I ask for it for my birthday I want the deeper which one do u think I should get do u think the disconnects will happen as bad on the ice or casting from shore
The old deeper did have known connection issues they changed it and I have seen much better reviews for the plus and chirp plus models the basic deeper everyone says it’s just basic and not very good.
I've got the Lowrance Fish Hunter Pro really came in useful I enjoy the 3-D fish mode and the sound lower thought it was perfect for Dragon beside my kayak
One issue I have with the iBobber was the Android app would disconnect all the time. I got an old iPhone and tried that and the disconnect issues went away.
the deeper pro plus is Wi-Fi (self generated access point) and has a number of other improvements. I've towed mine in a kayak while under power from a 24 lb thrust motor. Still worked.
I now have a Deeper Pro + with the kayak arm and it works pretty darn well on a kayak. I bring it with me when I visit my friends on different lakes and take out their yaks and canoes. The Pro+ definitely works better than the one I tested.
The shallow issue with the ibbober is limitation of the sonar, I believe deeper has it listed in their documentation as well, where it won't function correctly in waters less than 5 feet deep. I asked the ibbober people about this when I noticed it on mine as well.
Yes there is a small water limit. The FishHunter has a shallow water setting but it still doesnt respond well in less than 4 feet. The ibobber has a tendency to spot fish at 1ft on choppy water I noticed.
Wish I could've seen this vid before. I recently bought the fish finder pro n having issues with the app. I haven't been able to see any fish. Tried adjust the settings n I know the depth isn't correct. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
I dont think so, i bought ibobber its not working properly always out of water, thats why i return it and buy deeper smart its accurate and i dont have a problem with the connection
Great video. I'm trying to decide between the Fish Hunter and the iBobber as a gift for my husband. Are you aware of any improvements on either since you made this video? How has your's held up over the last 4 years? Thanks.
So I have the Deeper Pro + - there is a new CHIRP model that probably would be the best bet. It held up pretty well, some glitches with the software here and there so it hasn't been a flawless experience...but they are really cool if you want to be totally mobile.
I tried the Pro + - the top of the line model -which i really had no issues with the WiFi - it worked really well, until the battery stopped working that is, now it does pretty much nothing, unfortunately. So I can't seem to get one that functions correctly, long term.
Update - the manufacturer replaced my unit no questions asked so I am back in action. So far the Deeper Pro + is serving me very well - got a couple days on the ice and even on the kayak.
I'm going with the ibobber it's cheaper and does the same damn thing who cares how great the mapping looks all I need is depth and fish located why waste a extra 250$ when you can spend 100 for the same crap my ibobber works fine people amaze me when they want a portable fish finder to work like a expensive one you'll find on a boat
Seems kinda off considering that you claim the ibobber does all that? Mine and everyone else's just doesn't work period... Even being 0.1 inches from a phone
I have an iBobber and it's awful. Constantly loses connection. Got a new phone and it seems to work a little better but still awful. Useless in any water less then 8ft. I think it works good in deep water though, reads much better and realistic. But the connection loss is a huge problem almost rendering it useless. Rather cast more then try to make the stupid thing work.
Well, any electronic toy is kind of gimmicky - but I disagree. I actually love the Deeper I own now becuase I can bring it in a duffel to a friends house, borrow their boat or kayak and have a fish finder on deck. Its super easy to use. Is it a replacement for a "real" fishfinder, not really. But it is actually nice to have if you like electronic toys. The GPS, water temps, and trip recording is nice to have on my phone too. I use it with Navionics Boating app to find structure.
The FlushHunter Pro SUCKS. Very unreliable. Most of the time it won't connect, and when it does, it shows incorrect depth. Why spend $200 for a POS sonar that when in 4ft of water shows 27ft?

However the battery stopped working after about 2 months. It's a terrific product, if and when it works....
However the manufacturer sent me a spanking new unit when I explained my issue - so I am back in action.

Yea i have a deeper start. Never helped me catch a fish. Any fish. In many years and thousands of hours fishing.
Excellent review man, lots of time and money invested. Why aren't you still producing videos?
All work no glory...
I've got the Lowrance Fish Hunter Pro really came in useful I enjoy the 3-D fish mode and the sound lower thought it was perfect for Dragon beside my kayak
Im looking into buying that one but no stores near me sell it
Great review. So unfortunate that the disconnects are so prevalent. Even with Wifi
Thank you so much for this informative video great job
I would like to pull one around a pond with a rc boat
I did that with the ibobber... The$40 rc boat had a way farther ranger that the ibobber has
One issue I have with the iBobber was the Android app would disconnect all the time. I got an old iPhone and tried that and the disconnect issues went away.
I think he was using android.?

if you get a replacement Deeper please share a review. loved the showdown. it really help me with a future purchase
Maybe they will send me a Deeper that works :) I paid for all these myself...no sponsorships. No Bias.
Yeah can you let us know if you got a new one I was looking to buying the deeper, your convincing me otherwise so keep us posted
@@RichCollinsThirstProductions What kind of phone are you using
Tantas dificuldades, me ajudaram muito a decidir por um sonar fixo, embora não seja agradável para mim.

I wonder if they will work in a heated dock crappie fishing
What were your thoughts on the ibobber I have it and love it
I might not like the outcome but Great review
Der iBobber kann sich wirklich sehen lassen

I have a deeper pro, have you tried it? my pro with the wifi loses connection all the time, so frustrating you pay 240$ and it disconnects constantly

Rich Collins that is not good news, as much as they cost they should be flawless, good luck in the future

3 yewrs late but for those that have this issue, Switch off the smart switch option on your phones wifi... does the same with drones etc

I just bought a cheap bluetooth fish finder in aliexpress, 33 usd, does exactly the same thing
I like my ibobber to
I use a 150$ hummingbird from Walmart,it works plenty good
Seems kinda off considering that you claim the ibobber does all that? Mine and everyone else's just doesn't work period... Even being 0.1 inches from a phone
say, which phone were you pairing with them?
On the Ibobber what do those orange numbers on the fish mean?
Those are the depth the 'fish' is seen at.
The color means under 15". Green is over 15"
deeper is the best if the best
I wish these come with their own LCD panels, since I might drop my phone in the water
what cord did you use to hook on to the deeper
If I recall I was either using the Fish Hunter Cord - which was just red nylon or a piece of 20lb test.
Thanks
Bluetooth 4 dot O lol

Deeper, the only one you can read what is hapening, BAAM looses
I just picked up a garmin striker 4 for 100 bucks. These type of fish finders will be a short lived gimic.

@@dangerous8333 surely you're not paid by ibobbler, obviously not.
I have a Deeper PRO+ and my friend has a fish hunter. He is selling it now and gonna buy Deeper. I think Fish hunter paid you for this review...
I think I had a bad Deeper - but no one paid me a thing.
And this is not a Pro Plus.
Buy a pro+

Can I have the deeper since it lost?
Please
God, online beggars are such a pain.
My ibobber is fucked
Where's the enjoyment gone out of fishing.
I have one but I agree with you.
It's just as lazy as baiting deer.
Looks like a waste of time
All the lip smacking was driving me crazy
so very helpful. Thanks.
Lip smacking and teeth suckin good
Very helpful, thank you. I will be sure to hire an actor next time.
Ridiculous review
Tremendous feedback!
