    The DXS Series has an all-new band-pass design that produces extremely high SPL by drastically reducing the distortion. The DXS features a customized, high-power handling woofer with superior damping, for a clean, accurate delivery of the massive power produced by a 950W Class-D high-efficiency amplifier. Yamaha's formidable DSP technologies are perfectly utilized for precise tuning of filters, flexible control of the LPF setting and low-frequency response, as well as high-grade protection functions that ensure all components perform to the full limit of their potential. Powerful D-XSUB processing allows you to choose from either NORMAL, BOOST or XTENDED LF settings. NORMAL mode gives you the ideally balanced low-frequency response, while BOOST mode provides a more tight and focused bass. XTENDED LF mode drops the low end frequencies down-even further for thunderous bottom end that delivers. Take your full-range system to the next level with the power and versatility of DXS Series active subwoofers.

    The DXS subs are indeed excellent for the money.I only found them to sound like true subs when the X-Tended LF setting was active however.In the off and boost settings, they are thumpy, but not deep.They seem focused in the 65-80hz area. In high output applications, a close coupled pair of either DXS12 or DXS15 would better match the DXR tops, which are capable of very high output - especially when hi-passed. I love my DXR8s and always recommend the DXR15s for DJs who don't plan on getting subs.

      I bust bought 2 x DXR 15" and was planing to get 2 more now and 2 DXS 15" subs. You think its better to use snaller tops then the 15" when using 15" subs ?

    Got a pair of DXR 12" and a DXS12. Great for rehearsing, small gigs and as monitors/drumsub.

    What are the pros of the DXR12, except being lighter ?

    Hi. Great comparison. I have two Yamaha MSR 400's. What do you think of using them with the DXS15 subwoofer?

      I would look at the 15 (as your mentioned) over the 18 on the MSR series... but, the MSR had a sub in the line which is probably better matched than the DX series.. although, I am sure you could make the DX series sub work with the MSR series tops.. it just might be that the sub might 'outdistance' the sub when you go from equal sound at lower volumes and want equal sound at higher volumes.

    Hi, my church is small, approximately 500-600 sqft and we have a pair of Tannoy 12" VXP power speakers and I'm torn and undecided which subwoofer is right for my church 12" or 15", please advise.

    • @discjockeynews
      @discjockeynews  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +watdaheo1 the 15 would cover you much longer than the 12 would.. when you get into live music, the 12 will eventually be something you want to upgrade for a bit better bass sound for bass guitars and such.. it would also match up well with the 12" tops you have.

  • @discjockeynews
    @discjockeynews  10 ปีที่แล้ว

    The DXS 12 would be smaller and a bit easier to move around.. but the 18 in the EV would give you more hit.. almost completely different things.. :)

    I have a pair of ELX 15's and looking to add a sub to compliment them. Size is key. My 15s have pretty good base and are full range. What do you think of adding 1 DXS12 just for an extra boost. Will the DXS12 get lost in the mix? i do medium sized events. Nothing to crazy.

      Gabriel Escobar i really wish someone would answer this, i have full range 15's and just want a tad more oomph

      Jason I would get 1 EKX 15SP. I started with one and loved the extra bass it provided and bought a second. I have 2 EV ELX 15p and I'll bring one EKX 15sp sub with me if needed. And they are compact and light.
