      Same goes for the plates ... the amount of plates he's pointing out is indeed VERY FEW for the amount of benches and machines they have. This seems to be less then a metric ton visible on 6 benches, that's nothing. Even if only half of them would be in use, people would indeed be missing plates.

      Agree. Time of day is so different. I use my local YMCA at 5am, and it’s a really great vibe. Usually the exact same group of people getting it done in the gym, friendly and supportive. Nice community vibe. If I accidentally go in the afternoon when schools out, it’s a bunch of fuckboy highscoolers being fuckboy high schoolers, which is annoying at best. And you get all the aggressive basketball games going on, all yelling at eachother and sometimes fights breaking out. It’s a totally different scene to say the least. And lock your shit up in the afternoon. That’s when your stuff gets stolen. Early AM is no risk for theft

    • @joeyw4531
      @joeyw4531 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +92

      @@kaylum983 There's several reasons "why". If you try to use power with freeweights or weight stacks, you''ll exert force the first portion off the rep and make the weights fly up the rest of the way. With air pressure there is no momentum, so you'll have to apply force through the entire range of motion.
      Then there's also the ease of adjusting weights, which makes it possible to instantly transition between resistances between reps.

    The gym I went to from 15-21 was like straight from the 80s. Dust and dirt everywhere, needle marks in the bathroom stalls, a literal ant hill on the inside of a window, torn padding and vinyl on everything, the little balls on a cable machine handle had broken off and were replaced with golf balls that had holes drilled through them, a dog would just run around everywhere, and the ceiling had missing panels everywhere. You get rude/uncaring/unattentive teenagers or blowhards. Or sometimes you get energized, professional, and attentive people. Chances are if you come between 10am-5pm you're gonna get the best service just because more management/trainers are around.

      I'd always be sure to be out by 5pm, or get there after 7pm cos that's when the douches show up. They'd work out in packs of 6+ and stand around while they'd (one at a time) do one rep on a barbell that was way too heavy, grunt, drop it and chicken strut around the room. But if I was there at the Douching Hour, at least it was entertaining.

      Or you're trying to get checked in and you have to repeat yourself 5 times to them while they stare at their phone before they actually pick their head up, "huh? What's up dude? uhhh?"
      Or worse case scenario, you've got weird membership issues and because you come in to workout at 6pm, and sales leaves at 5pm, you literally never encounter someone who can help you. Then you come in next week and get told your membership is innactive and you're charged a fee for missing a membership payment. (things that happen surprisingly often)

      @bajszosjozsef4850 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      My local gym is an underground one and it CAN be really cool....if AC works properly. We were dying in the gym in the summer, despite the fact that it's in a cellar as I mentioned before. Cellars are naturally colder than over ground facilities, but the AC just couldn't keep up with all the humid that came from people working out there. Also, they have a habit for neglecting broken machines for weeks. And not cleaning the AC properly. And not fixing the walls for MONTHS after a water pipe leak. I'm dead serious, some sections of the gym wall had black mold for months until it was removed and repainted. It is totally automated, "smart gym" with no gym staff, so when I called them to tell them one of the machines is broken, the lady on the other end thanked me for notifying and said "it will be fixed during the next maintenance window". Next maintenance window happened after 2 weeks or so, lol. And there are also cases when the gym radio just dies. My gym partner called them and he was told that they'll turn it back on. They didn't XD (This happened multiple times btw) If you've never been to a dead silent gym before, let me tell you it's really weird and awkward. Just hearing everyone sigh, growl, the clunking of the weights, etc. It's really funny, in a bad way. If it wasn't the only 24/7 gym in my town, I'd never go back. But it is. And it is also the cheapest, lol. (Well, cheapness comes at a cost as it seems)

    The thing about 1 star reviews is in most cases they are based on truth, even if they are embellished in the heat of the moment. A majority of ppl will not go through the trouble of putting a review unless something sparked that fire.

      @@fungustheclown666yes exactly. This video is super weird because the reviews COULD be 100% false and probably made by a super aggressive and annoying person. Or it could be true completely and the gym could've fired a few staff members and now it's operating well. Or maybe he's just famous and they chose to be nice. Or maybe the staff had a bad day when that lady made the review. Or maybe they are more likely to be nice to him because he is jacked and not so many gym goers look or are super strong... 22:05 that's an injectable resin they put into concrete to fix leaks. What they generally do is drill holes closest to where the leak is seeping through the wall and they just shove pump that shit into the hole until they cant anymore. Then you wait to see if it leaks somewhere else and you rinse and repeat. Considering this gym had reviews of leaks it makes sense you see this. Injecting resin into concrete is EXTREMLY expensive too and pretty much the only way to fix concrete water leaks unless you fix the source of the leak which can be much more complicated than you could ever imagine.

    I've been in customer service roles my whole life, including the community and events manager of a 5-star gym (I'm talking 1000's a year, cryotherapy, 1on1 nutritionists, the janitor was told to memorize new member names by photo before their first day. My civic looked so out of place in that parking lot lmao). Some people just live to complain tbh, especially the higher up you go in terms of net-value clients. The 2/3 star reviews are where its at, those people are honest

    It’s always hard for me to sit through a TH-cam video, but your videos always lock me in. Love your content, bro. Keep up the good work.

    00:10 that is true. i really worry about the majority of reviewers mental health just by looking at all the typos, weird sentence structures and generally bad reviews that have nothing to do with the products.

      When people writing a review on something, I don't think they would really care about grammar, spelling, typing etc, They just mainly care about their complaint and doesn't care of how they write their review, especially if it's really good or a really bad experience, they would go out of their way to type that review in and won't care about nothing else

    They probably worked out some issues at the first gym, but that's a good sign of the management. Though I do wonder what the 'harassment' was. I have almost lit up a few gym employees acting crazy but 99.99% of the time they are the sweetest people.

    What is interesting, and this could be a thing, is the gym saw those 1 stars and fixed some of the issues. The good ones would of at least, so the ones you found that were decent to good probably did that, the ones that were indeed bad, were ones that didnt.

    a bit dystopian in the beginning. I’m paused at 2:31 and I can’t tell if that desk review was genuine or sarcasm. It was immediately disqualified as soon as the first person made known that they know and watch you

      It was genuine, but I don’t blame him. They were definitely being respectful to him, but at the same time he definitely should’ve looked back at that clip and realized that they only respected him because of how popular he is.

    There are only two types of reviews most people will bother to make: 1 star or 5 star. Keep that in mind and have a nice day.
