It would be amazing if this railroad, and the Unska pruga (Una railway) were one day fully electrified and double tracked. For tourism, this would be amazing for both Bosnia and Croatia. You get from Split to Zagreb quicker thru Bosnia that way. So much potential.

Superb video, which gives us a fascinating vision of inland and rural Croatia. As exciting as first part of the trip, I look forward to the third part. Just one question: why a complete stop at some level crossings which seem to function normally, and full speed for the others ?
There is ongoing work to test and integrate the signalling systems on this route, so several of these crossings are not in normal operations (testing and/or awaiting certification and whatever paperwork/procedures is still needed). Train driver gets the list of these crossings where he has to perform standard procedure for faulty crossing (stop, honk and then proceed at walking pace). Alternatively, a control signal can be installed on the lineside to indicate the status of the crossing (faulty or operational). Signalling on the most of the route and stations is covered with X signs which mean they are not (yet) operational, they have been working on it for years now as it's a perquisition for allowing speeds higher than 100km/h (line was physically rebuilt for 160km/h).
Excellent again, I expected to see this part in such superior quality, because of part one, which was so good. And I was not dissapointed, for sure. Many years I travelled daily on the DB 612 between Saarbrücken and Mainz, on the so called Nahe-Strecke. Which has lots of curves, tunnels and bridges. Here in Germany it was a "Pendolino", that means, it bowed into the inside of the curves automaticly and so it could drive faster than normal trains without causing health problems to the passangers. I´m happy to see them, my old train-friends, now in Croatia, renewed, newly painted and made totally fit for their actual pupose. Perhaps You do not know this: They are able to reach a maximum speed of 160km/h! But of course not in the mountains of Croatia. On my old line, they could reach a maximum speed of 120, but not everywhere. Thank You very much for this superb Video! Keep on going
These trainsets were never in service in Germany. These are the last of a series, DB didn‘t need. So HZ bought them in 2004. The section between Gospic and Gracac was until 2004 rebuilt and straightened for 160 km/h (the tracks) but the signalisation isn‘t finished yet. So max Speed actually is 100
@nickweiserfolz I appreciate your comment. Thank you for your explanation. It is very interesting. There will be a part 3 of this trip available on Tuesday at 11am.
AdTranz/Bombardier built 200 units - 192 for DB (class 612) and 8 for Croatian Railways (where we know them as Class 7123), with some minor modifications in the interior for Croatian units. Out of 8 trainsets, two were lost in accidents - one in 2006 (Kosovo) and one in 2009 (Rudine) - both locations will be seen in the third part of this trip (Gračac-Knin-Split). They are capable of 160km/h and were operating on some segments at that speed (some parts of Zagreb-Karlovac, from first part of the video), through Lika signalling system was never fully implemented and speed is thus limited to 100km/h, though the segments of line (Perušić-Gračac) were rebuilt for 160km/h.
Wonderful! When I traveled from Split to Zagreb by train we stopped in Gracac for 15 minutes, because driver, conductor and half of passengers ran to the station cafe to have coffee🤣 I see there are new-made platforms on the railway track. Does Croatian railways plan to renew local trains on this line (because speed trains do not stop at these small platforms)?
@sibeaster 🤣. Once, years ago, I was travelling on a small line in Greece and the driver stopped the train to talk to the Sheppard tending his sheep near the line. I am not sure about the renewing the local trains...

@@RailRelaxation It is much better to hear the sound made by the train, because that way we have an almost real sound image of the train in motion, unlike the authors who turn everything off, because the camera is in the cabin, so we listen music, but it can also be turned off, but then we sit and we only watch the picture without sound, no this is much better, let the camera be outside and let the sound of driving be heard !!!!
@Damir Karan thank you for your comment. I will keep the camera outside. I think the image quality is much better. And the sound, I am trying to make it better. And , as you said, it is always possible to turn the sound off...
@@RailRelaxation Since for me the railway is the number 1 means of transportation, as a kid I remember the sound of the steam locomotive, and then the sound of the "KENNEDY" diesel locomotive from 1960, the wonderful sound of driving, so I am surprised that today's fans do not enjoy the real sounds that are made when watching a train ride. Anyway, they also hear in the carriages, that way we have a complete picture of the ride. Starting the train, driving the train, braking. I would like to know when recording a video, whether you have automatic zoom on or set it manually to infinity. I'm interested in which is better, because there are quite big differences in the quality of the recording with different authors. Aperture is probably on automatic. In fact, the recording is OK already at 720/60, but the loss of sharpness is still noticeable when driving, while the picture improves when the train starts to slow down and when it stops at the station. If I go to download a video so that I can watch it later, I don't see any difference from 2K, to 4K, it just consumes more megabits when switching, is there any way to get a quality image from TH-cam when switching to 4K, I have several different programs but the same image everywhere. at least 30% worse quality than when I watch directly from TH-cam. Watch this video of the train pulling "KENEDIJEVKA" and you can see what happens to the image when the train starts to accelerate: From Kulen Vakuf to Bihać thru Una valley - EMD G16 ride.
@@damirko8644 when you download the video from TH-cam, the quality is always worse. I don't know how exactly it goes, just now that the quality is not even close to the original. I record video on automatic zoom. I appreciate your comment. Will check the video that you recommended.

Baš me zanimalo jer sam na jednom mjestu vidio paralelno još jedan most. Hvala!

@TomRut.404 Thanks.
Boy, does Croatia look hot!
@wilsonflood4393 It is beautiful. Definitely recommend that line.
@@RailRelaxationI mean hot in the sense of being very warm.
@@wilsonflood4393 a, ok. That area is very hot during the summer, yes.
@@RailRelaxationIs hiking a problem because of lack of surface water?
@@wilsonflood4393 You just have to take a lot of water with you. I am not sure about that exact region, but I know that hiking in those mountains is very popular.

Wind noise is terrible
I appreciate your comment. I am working on sound quality and reducing the wind noise. Hopefully will solve the problem soon.
Watch this video of the train pulling "KENEDIJEVKA" and you can see what happens to the image when the train starts to accelerate:
From Kulen Vakuf to Bihać thru Una valley - EMD G16 ride.
@@damirko8644 when you download the video from TH-cam, the quality is always worse. I don't know how exactly it goes, just now that the quality is not even close to the original. I record video on automatic zoom.
I appreciate your comment. Will check the video that you recommended.
