    i really think of jeff of being one of the smartest,polite and educated people making these type of videos. he never raises his voice or tries to be confrontational with anyone. he is also someone whom i can say that i admire greatly and would maybe someday like to meet him and go out with him one day when he does these type of things. i am in east pasco county jeff and if you ever need help with anything let me know!

    I work for a FL state agency. During the required new employee (computer based) training it was explicit that the public has a right to view ALL non-exempt records created by my agency. While *I* am not authorized to release records (I don't interface with the public) management should be able to quickly make contact with those trained to provide records and give guidance.

    When I taught Anatomy at Columbus State Community College, The MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheets were kept in a side room for the explicit reason to be shown to anyone who wanted to see them. The MSDS had all the information, dangers, etc. on every chemical used in the labs. Important info to be public record, no?
    On the first day of class, I told all the students this.

    The level of complete ignorance of the law is astounding. And sadly, there is no penalty for non-compliance. It is shameful not only that we taxpayers have paid for these "public records" but that we've also paid these buffoons to go to a Sunshine Law training that they very clearly slept through.

    MSDS is required by OSHA in every state to be readily available by all employees, including ANYONE that enters the premises for whatever reason, including public/police/fire/ and emergency personnel, primarily at every entrance/exit of said building perimeters.

    • @apburner1
      @apburner1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michigan Mister No, not at every entrance/exit of a building. At a single entrance/exit to the specific room the materials are stored in.

    • @tymesho
      @tymesho 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      sure your right. I worked at a facility using/processing liquid/compressed oxygen for years. perhaps my (nationwide) employer was overzealous, but this is what they insisted on, as well as readily available in every truck/vehicle they ran. thanks for the correct information. after being taught this for almost 20 years, I took it as fact. the accreditations every 3 years with "jayco" were paramount, and they were very strict/over done.

    The MSDS is provided by the item manufacturer or supplier. The university is required to keep the MSDS and they are for everybody to use. For example if they had a chemical spill on campus they would consult the MSDS for that chemical. The MSDS are not some kind of trade secret. I don't know why people panic every time they se a camera. Universities and companies are required to keep MSDS up to date.

    I wonder if Jeff would have better results if he tried to get the public records from a law school, if there is one that is public? If anyone should know the Florida laws, it would be a law school. I, like one of the commenters here, am also perplexed that even an educational institution doesn't know, or care, about the law - amazing!!

  • @robertwatson818
    @robertwatson818 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The public records laws in Florida are useless as we see here. There is NO penalty attaching to the employee refusing the request. Seen on film doing such a refusal the individual employee should be subject to arrest ON THE SPOT!! The statutes need revising ASAP. The employees are obviously being trained to not provide the asked for materials. We need to know why and by who.

You are really saying that we should also train them on the law?? FOH The institution should be sued, and they as individuals should be shit-canned. Pardon the expression. They have no business working a government job collecting a salary we pay them, if they are ignorant of their duties.

    What I haven`t seen expressed here is the fact that this exercise is quite possibly saving lives. There is a reason these MSDS are to be made available and it`s in the acronym: Material *SAFETY* Data Sheet. With a little bit of luck maybe this `institution of education` will learn something and stop endangering people by learning to do their job correctly.

    Once again you have gotten your rocks off by making a group of hard working employees look like fools and even worse you will put their images on TH-cam in that situation. Another angle to your cause could be to go in and play your little game and ask for the records and if you are truly interested in educating public employees then tell them exactly what you are doing. Oh, but wouldn't that spoil your fun. If you told them exactly what you were doing rather than jerking them around they would be more than happy to help you if you came in the next day without the drama. You are unbelievable and I only watch your videos for entertainment and can't believe anyone other than those like you would send you money so you don't have to get a job.

      Just explaining the correct way to abide by the law will not change their attitude or policy. One has to litigate in order to change the way they are operating, hence, demanding that they get additional training as a stipulation in the settlement/win.

      @jbmbanter 9 ปีที่แล้ว
