I still can’t get it off my head, the what ifs. What if pinaglaro si KQ at Amos? What if EJ Edu, Malonzo, and Scottie was there? But still, it was a good run. It was a pleasant surprise that we entered the semi finals in OQT. There were takeaways and I’m sure magagawan ng paraan yan sa mga susunod na laro. I can’t wait for what’s next for them. What we can say is that CTC consider this tournament as an experimental tournament for the LA Olympics because personal plan for CTC to showcase a more high level performance for LA Olympics his hometown return. . .
Congrats gilas. Now we can compete with other powerhouse basketball nations. For the future, we can probably add another young athletic big (edu, geo chiu, balunggay, policarpio, etc.) A big wing (baltazar) to form the trio with kq and tamayo, another young point guard with scoring to back up newsome (abbarientos, bolick, belangel, nelle). Hopefully ma appeal natin inclusion ni clarkson as natural born to take the scoring lighten from brownlee or the other naturalized player we are processing.
This tournament proved that Gilas can go toe to toe with the best of Europe. Next step is to keep the core intact and include more players to replace Jun Mar, Japeth and Justin Brownlee.
I'm fine with the results. In fact I see it as a big victory. What I don't want to happen is see Philippines getting blown out like our U17 team in their game against the US, that was embarrassing. I want to see every game be a close fight. Anything within the 19 point deficit mark is a sign that the team is up to par with the big boys. And I would love to see the Philippines snatch some victories against the European, South, North American, and the Oeania Teams. I would also like to see our country be top dog of Asia. We need to climb the ranks and snatch away that top spot from Japan.
for the 1st 15 minutes Gilas was dominant, then came the last 25 minutes a complete turn around happened, JB could no longer disengage from the defense of Brazil, Dwight all of a sudden became tentative JMF showed the effects of fatigue, Japeth did not know what he was doing , Newsome decided that he wanted to be a traveler . CTC suprisingly was not able to adjust , specially during the 17-0 run by Brazil to start the 3rd qtr. anyway im still proud of what GILAS achieved in the OQT. we showed that we can compete. most specially if we have a complete and healthy line up
SBP should sit down with stakeholders para maayos yung pool ng players. Kaloka

I think the starters were gassed and alot of the other guys were unfortunately unplayable. So we really need more players to get up to that level, by better recruitment of Fil-Fors and/or improving local player development. I agree that we need to increase the pool/core and make it younger. I think a key move here is to get a naturalized player that will fit Kai/Dwight/etc's timeline. We naturalized Benny Boatwright, he's a versatile 6'10 guy but he's turning 28 next week. Is that fine? or do we look to someone younger? I really like RHJ (24), he also fills a need for us - a big forward, and I think his game is somewhat similar to JB. (and maybe getting him could make Dylan consider?)
First quarter gilas fire all the cylinder making threes, at yung depensa sa mid range. Dahil alam natin na di namam shooter ang brazil they like midrange picknroll, fast breaks.
How did those two halves turn from bad to worse? It was just unfortunate Kai couldn't play last-minute. And then maybe not having Scottie around spelled the difference in a game when our guards were playing subpar. Our bench is like a chicken-and-egg situation: if they don't get their minutes you really can't expect them to play well; but if they don't play well how will they get their minutes? Jordan Heading
Oo nga. Jordan Heading. His shooting could have been valuable
Dribble drive!
Joke ba to? 😂
Japeth was there as a replacement. Kami rin frustrated sa kanya pero alam din namin 37 na siya at hindi dapat siya nandiyan in the first place. Let's give him credit that he was willing to represent us at the last minute
Di na ganun kalalim yung drive to win. He looked confused and easily rattled.
Horrible errors of Japeth Aguilar 😠
Let's give him a break. The guy is 37 and has had a lot of injuries already. He is slow now and not as athletic anymore. We had no choice but to rely on him given the injuries to Edu and Kai
@@bolerosph easier said than done. It cost us a chance for the elusive Olympics. He clearly does not have the zest to compete anymore. We have a pool of talented players who are willing to be part of Gilas and represent the country and yet ...If we are truly serious about an Olympic chance, they should have chosen and assessed carefully each player's ability, IQ, stamina and drive to win.
I think Coach Tim values familiarity with the system also. Japeth has played under CTC for years so he knows the triangle. Getting someone younger to learn the triangle in 2 weeks might have not been what CTC preferred
Hehehe
Uhhh okay. We were just respectfully having a conversation with you. Nevermind then
These guys dont know what they talkin bout 😂 tough guys eh

Hey funny guy, you think youre funny eh? you wants to feel what a real injury feels like g, lets go then
You want to learn proper grammar first? 😂😂😂
@@bolerosph why because of the s? see you really are an idiot, if thats your comback thats pathetic, well suits you anyway i got no complaints, bruh your fallback is the grammar? cant think of something witty aint ya
