Actually overachieved, gained the respect of the countries/teams ranked in the Top-25 in the world👏👏👏👏. Since no one even expected the team to win a game and then even without Kai, they led halfway through the game vs Brazil, I'd rate them⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5 stars. 4.5 if they survived Brazil and made it to the Finals in their group. 5 stars if they finished on top of their group and secured an Olympic slot.

True, this is our best showing in OQC for decades. However, tingin ko the suffocating defense applied to us by Brazil prevented us from executing the vaunted triangle offense. It also prevented us from moving around the ball and forced us into turnovers. hence, di tayo maka pag set up ng shooters natin.

I hope this OQT will serve as a foundation for the future. Just Keep the core, hopefully kumuha tayo ng foreign assistant, preferably from Europe to guide Coach Tim, and add players little by little and Gilas will have a bright future.

Teribli sa depensa ng brazil hindi nakayanan ng gilas na akala ko na learn experience na nila kontra SSD sa WC noon.
Sobrang lakas na bangga nila, sobrang pang ipit, at okay lang sa referees.

Probably it was deliberate to make Brasíl think Kai will play. Sympre iba ang preparation for gilas with a Kai Sotto compared to a Sotto-less Gilas. Pero, I think, nakahinga na ng maluwag si Willy Marcial, hndi na tatamaan ng Olympics yung schedule ng PBA.
Anyway, let me add, iba kc yung Kai kay Japeth. Japeth naturingang lutong luto na sa triangle pero tignan nyo yung mga pasa nya, ang lambot. Very obvious na nag aalangan sya, yet, itinuloy prn nya Kaya ayun, turnovers ang mga results. Kai, he’s not just that lob threat, rim protector, he’s a decisive, creative passer. Pag nahihirapan ang guards at Brownlee na mag entry pass kay Junmar, kay Kai padaanin

So halos nasa corners yung 3 point makes nila, tapos mag 2-3 zone kapa, that means you're inviting them to shoot more from the corner.
Cant commit to 2-3 zone. Brazil will only attack the gaps more, they were making corner 3s

Gilas don't like go to Paris Olympics, if U watch the game . Kai did not play, the coaching staff wants to go home early. They did not play like Europeans they played as a pba player only, what can you expect to win .

I think gilas should also exoand the llays from the triangle and learn some modfications. And maybe insert a couple of different set plays just to confuse the opponent. Basic triangle sets pa lang nakikita ko e, kaya basang basa ng brazil ang passing lanes.
I think may variation naman yung Triangle ni Coach Tim.

yun mawala si Kai Sotto is a death sentence already to the team its hard to defend the rim and rebound is very tiring dapat isinama nila si Rhenz Abando para kahit wala si Kai Sotto pwede i compensate yun blocking and rebound

Sayang kase kahit na 15 man pool sana ehh para may option na magkaron ng variety sa mga players naten pwedeng pag piliaan. Si berto sana para ma lessen ung load ni brownlee sa offense. Tapos sana si Balti mabigyan ng chance. Need then ni coach tim na magadjust sa rotation nya at i maximize ung 12 man line up. Inde naman to PBA na asa lang sya sa 7 man rotation tapos ung 1st 5 almost 30 mins a game ang nilalaro lagi.
Hopefully we can consider more guys in the future
Missing pieces for my opinion only skati, Edu, you needsniper from 3s Jordan Heading at kylangan talaga magpagaling at magpalakas ni Kai i still believed kai is a hidden gem 💎

Yun kasi plays ni coach naka assign lang sa ilan players kaya nga ang rotation ilan lang tapos si Japeth na hindi nya kaya eh fill ang shoes ni Kai.
Kahit siguro Brazil nagulat ng hindi nakapaglaro si Kai kasi sigurado pinaghandaan nila sya. Bagsak ang moral ng Gilas ng hindi maglaro si Kai kaya yun nagkalat

Na diffuse ng brazil yung triangle.. nawala yung post action nung 2nd half.. tapos bantay sarado si jb.. glaring holes sa lineup: backup big (assuming kai or jmf is out), more athletic wings with size (ala kobe paras type) who can play 3 or 4, shot creator na bigay bola tapos score mo na (mala tr7 type)
Ps: parang di fit sa system ni ctc si kq basta si jb ang naturalized.. same role eh.. di sha 2, di rin 4..

@@NicoRocha pinipreserve at nasa isip ni coach tim is to let him heal fully or worst nalang play him if we go to the finals, pero kung wala ung injury he could have been the big factor, ganda na sana ung mga mis match lalo na pinopost up ni chris ung elite pg nila, sana maibalik agad confidence ng mga boys, ung caboclo is legit nila at naalala ko si mark sa mga laruan ng mga guard nila sa running floaters at jumpers, si karl would need to know the triangle more so that it will reward him of open jumpers, nagbabangaan parin halos magkakakampi due to not knowing the positioning without the ball that gives advantage to the defender plus nakakarecover defender agad to defend against us, hapo na si abay, pagod or kinabahan din tayo, dwight will get more better from this, we need edu badly to defend and he will be great with the system of ctc, newsome is fit for this system lalo na kung maimprove nya pa free throws at jumpers nya which is highly doable and i trust chris to improve more in this, the asst. coach could map out every player tendencies para mas madali scouting para sa next tournaments, we must think ahead
Kung best of 3 nga lang ito at makapaglaro si Kai pwede tayong manalo. Mas nakakatakot pang kalaban ang European dahil bihira mag mintis ang shooting.
