Shuffling and the Melbourne Shuffle was huge part of the Australian Hard Dance Culture in the Early to Mid 2000's. This style of shuffling originated from Melbourne Australia which later grew popularity in Europe and Asia.
people in the Netherlands always frowned upon these shuffle dances, we already had our own dances to the music that originated over here. (Hardcore, Hardstyle and Hardbass)

As a man of that era that raved I was always jealous of the ppl that could shuffle. I had my own dance moves which sufficed but yea. Crazy shufflers seemed so cool .
The dance is called the Melbourne shuffle, or shuffle dance, that originated in Australia in the 1980s. With energetic steps, it is becoming a new form of "square dance" occupying China's urban spaces from parks to plazas and a popular pound-losing exercise for many elderly and middle-age Chinese.
Are you sure It was originated in Aus? It's look like a kind of copy from the early hardcore dance from Europe, mostly Netherlands and Germany. I might be wrong tho

When i went to Europe in early 2000's you could tell who is from Oz when the burst out and do the Melbourne Shuffle.
