  • I did this video showing how to use the first guitar pickup tester. For now, I'm making a few ways to order It. There will be links to Tindie, Reverb, eBay, and the N-audio web page as well, but for now, you can buy it only by contacting me.
Stay tuned for the incoming links.
Since making videos takes a lot of time for me, I will be thankful for your support. You can do it here:

I have made a phase tester that has two LEDS-one green the other red. Like yours the battery/ circuit is turned on when a mono 1/4 inch male plug is inserted. A small metal screwdriver is tapped on each pickup . A positive spike makes the green LED come on although the re LED sometimes comes on. When reversed and the pickup is tapped by the screwdriver the red LED comes on for a much longer time than the green does.

it seems cumbersome to make a jack to crocodile cable AND buy this, why not have simple screw or spring clamp terminals to connect the PU?

For two reasons. Now the unit is powered when the jack is inserted. I use this cable not only for this project.
Having two screw terminals or whatever will require a power switch to turn the unit on, but thanks for the note. I will keep it in mind for improving in the future.
