  • This video shows how to create an ARM based instance with Oracle Linux image in Oracle Cloud and how to install Docker, Docker computer, Portainer docker and Ubuntu Desktop docker with novnc installed.
    Oracle Cloud Platform released most generous free tier offer at the early of June, ARM based compute instance , which has 4 oCPUs and 24G Ram. You also can choose to create 4 ARM-based compute instances, each can have 1 oCPUs and 6G RAM.
    Note: Not only Oracle image works with Ampere A1 shape, Ubuntu 20.04 normal image (not minimal one) also works with Ampere A1 shape instance.

    Great video. I noticed in the ARM instance it is stating that the estimated costs is $2 a month, due to the boot volume. I am not sure if they changed that since this video was originally published.

      Really, I have not got any charges since using ARM instance. But it might be changed recently for new ARM. Someone might be able to confirm that.

    Thanks for this video, was informative and helped me to create an Oracle account with "always free" services, I was unaware of this service. What I don't understand about the instances with Ampere A1 is the first 3000 CPU hours and 18,000 GB per month. Does this renew month to month or do they start charging you?

    • @NetSec
      @NetSec  ปีที่แล้ว

    You skipped many things like opening ports properly.
    Please tell me how to properly configure this, if we already have a docker container running, with nginx reverse proxy configured on a different port.... It does not seem to work properly

    • @NetSec
      @NetSec  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are using Nginx, you wont need too much ports to be opened for your dockers. You can find some other videos in my channel such as th-cam.com/video/YKH2RwHqOck/w-d-xo.html. You can find more in it's video description.

      Your region's capacity is full. You might need to wait and try to see if there are more resources to add in. Or you create your new account in other regions.

    No good.
    REason#1: NO reverse DNS. This means no email server possible.
    Reason #2: PAM authentication, no root login and no root password created.
    Reason #3 Oracle has the same default password for root.
    Reason #4 Oracle creates user OPC with same default password for everyone.
    Reason #5 Only SSH keys to login
    Reason #5 User www created with no password
    Reason #6 Oracle is crazy website, totally disorganized
    Forget about Oracle. They are a bad joke.

    • @JuanSanchez-ik7wx
      @JuanSanchez-ik7wx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NetSec no, bad start. Oracle is a nightmare. Extremely anti-user GUI. A novice would be completely bewildered. A good start would be Linode or DigitalOcean, but most definitely not Oracle. Oracle needs to have an abbreviated GUI for small website VPS, just like the others. Oracle presents the same GUI to a novice that they would present to amazon administrator.Total disaster. And their latency on DNS changes is horrible. Not having a rDNS makes a free VPS totally useless. Why in the world would they not have rDNS? Completely defies logic. No root password is created....well it is created, but they dont tell you the password. And ssh to root is blocked by specific text in the authorized keys file. And they use PAM authentication. WTF? Who wants that? 1% or less is my guess.
