    Bradford's Antiques quick video of a beautiful Victor 5 antique phonograph. This example, is made from quarter sawn oak. The 1906 Model Victor V or Victor "Fifth", was manufactured by The Victor Talking Machine Co. from 1902 to 1920 and was originally priced from between $60.00 to $67.50. The wooden horns were an available option from VTM from about 1904 and cost the buyer an additional $3.00 to $8.00 when purchased along with the Victor Phonograph.

    Funny how movies and TV negate to show you that these actually had impressive sound quality for their time.

      That may stem from people playing record on damaged phonographs, or worn out records

    I'd LOOOVE to get my hands on this! Song reminds me of an old Mickey Mouse sound cartoon. :)

      Thats because a variant of that song was used in old mickey mouse shorts. "Plane Crazy" and "Mickey's Choo Choo" were shorts that used this song.

      Its Gramophone, not phonograph. Phonographs played records the were cylindrical in shape.

    Kids these days and American music artist don't know what they have lost, they are wannabe musican jokes with no skill, no creativity and their music has zero no soul just trash. Unless its Jpop or Kpop there music industry is full of fakes and its dieing out. I love true original and soulful music. Back then music had originality, it had distinct class and soul with its melody that brought life into a room and reached people. Now its just a joke in the U.S. I have always wanted a Gramorphone and 1920's 1930's music vinyl records. Call it crazy but with nothing worth watching on tv, I am an Anime Fan, and after watching a cool Anime series "BACCANO" based on 1920's-1940's time period. I truly wanted to emurse myself into understanding the music, and traditional architecture, designs that inspire my photography, the music today, and what gave our country uniqueness during that time in fashion culture. I guess I can say I love being born in the 80's but often mybheart finds itself traveling back to the to the 1920-30's time period.

    does this play at 33 rpm like could you play a modern record from the 80's on this tunrtable?

    • @hdwking
      @hdwking 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      33 RPM albums are all made of vinyl, which will be DESTROYED by the needle. The draw weight will prove too much for the grooves, and will completely wreck them. I tried it out, and i lost a Fun in Acapulco record.

    This would destroy my vinyl 33’s! Needle looks way too sharp and heavy but it’s so cool!! I have one almost identical in my attic but it doesn’t work no needle..it might be worth a lot it belonged to my great great grandparents. 🤔

      @ghsgtnayhmd4792 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      33 rpm microgrove records should never be played on an acoustic gramophone they are only designed to play 78 rpm shellac record the format of the time and the needles were a one time use

    • @crazymangoz9583
      @crazymangoz9583 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diana if I were you I’d get a pack of needles for that gramophone. Just keep in mind you need to change out the needle every/every other song, and that you can only use 78’s.
