These machines are meant solely for playing old 78rpm records (from before about 1960). They're made out of Shellac, can be any sizes (but tend to be 10 inches in diameter), and shatter if not handled carefully (handle it just as if you were handling something made of glass). Whatever you do, do not play a Vinyl LP or a 45rpm single on a Gramophone. They will fit on the Turntable, but the steel needle and tracking force of 100+ grams will absolutely wreck the record, not to mention the grooves being 1/3 the width of a 78rpm record and the speed difference.
Sound quality is very good for the time. I would definitely buy one if I had the coin back then.
This song that was played in the video brings me many memories
So clear and crisp...amazing sound quality from this gramophone.
That's a nice gramophone, it sounds amazing!!
This is incredible! I wonder how much this excellent antique costs! Perfect sound!
Vinyl Eyezz it costs 1k dollars+ to get this rare machine with perfect condition like this. Not like a crapophone from India
Those Indian Bombay specials are horrible shame so many people have been suckered in to thinking there original
James flynn with those soundboxes that lean over to one side and destroy the grooves. I hate those things
@@imranazimviolinist wait really? got mine for 300.
@@alexrodgers1501 Yeah.
This machine is mesmerizing 😍😍 The music just takes you 100 years ago. Thanks for sharing
Superb!
That must have been nice to listen to on a cold winter's day back in the old days
That is just too cool.
Stunningly beautiful machine.
Beautiful!
Lovely machine!
Très belle gramophone!
Just wondering what that tone arm tracks at, LOL.
Thanks for the look back.
If you fell into that horn they would never find you.
Wow, that's an impressive collection of phonographs, I must say! 👍 😀
They're gramophones, not phonographs.
Fine example!
i dont think a sock is gonna quiet that down.
It has a VERY large horn
oh, some German victor gramophones to
This looks like a Victor D phonograph.
How do you like gram iPhones compared to electric turntables?
