    Steph Curry is the definition of dominating a game. He dominated the game so much he literally changed the game. Not even MJ changed it as much as Steph did. He just did it differently than people are used to seeing it.

    • @jaypc6680

      Steph has done all of that also. Jordan was the most famous athlete in the entire world for a while. As the most famous athlete, more people played and watched basketball because of Jordan. A lot of kids wanted to be Jordan. Steph has the same thing, but on top of it all the way he moves without the ball and his shooting has changed the expected skill sets for players for the foreseeable future.
      People like Shaq (who cannot shoot 3s, or even foul shots) are not as desirable in this area.
      MJ didn’t change the league wide skill set that almost every team builds around.
      Traditional centers are just not as valuable.
      I’ve called it Stupid Moneyball (Because Moneyball involved understanding that a batters worth isn’t just in their home runs and hits, but their statistics of getting on base overall. And this just involves recognition that the number 3 is greater than 2. If a players field goal percentage is 45%, but their 3 point field goal percentage is 35%, then having them shoot a 2 pointer costs you points.
      Don’t know why that was hard to understand.

Steph has nowhere near the market capital that prime Jordan had, only magic lbj and Kobe have come close to matching that and even they fall short. Because you get guys like this joker in the middle that no matter what Steph does his lack of size and athleticism don’t make him as great or dominant. Even though he didn’t need kd to win and was one win away from two titles in a row without kd (unfortunate circumstances caused them to lose IMO) he was dominating and accomplishing more than anyone and would have continued to score high volume and contested for chips without kd but as much as they “needed” durant, durant needed him more. People just hate to believe that a 6’3” 185 lb light skin guy that can barley dunk can be the best player in the league. Remember when bron missed the playoffs with the lakers? He got all the excuses and still got called the best player in the league and had a better team than Steph does. @Joe Jackson When steph's shot isnt' falling, send me a clip which teams stop doubling him or going over screen to trap him. What do you mean he isn't a factor.
      Steph is the only player who teams constantly double or triple team sometimes before crossing half court. It doesn't matter if he shot 0/10 on threes in a game.
      He's been carrying offense in high pressure, clutch situations. He is the most closely guarded player with least space to operate this season.

    • @Copestag
      @Copestag 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Joe Jackson even when his shot isn’t falling, to say he isn’t still a factor is blasphemy. His sheer presence alone carries enough weight to warrant a double team, off or on the ball. And even so, he is still attacking and finishing at the rim, without nearly as much foul calls as others get, but still manages to finish. Not even getting into getting others involved and having a knack for rebounding (which is under appreciated), despite his size and being athletically impaired. And as far as “high pressure” situations? He’s been clutch ALL year, even last night against the Celtics, just came up short, but it was his shots that were keeping their heads above water. He IS the offense that carries day in and day out of every single game. When he’s not in the game, they become one of the worst, if not the worst offensive team in the league. And mind you, he is doing all of this with minutes restrictions from coach Kerr.

      Agree! I'm old even to have seen Michael Jordan shot against Patrick Ewing in college. Is college days were great but, his epic 63 points against that HOF stacked Celtic team was a professional tour de force. Nobody saw that coming and he changed culture and the game. Curry has done the same thing. Instead of dunking, Curry has perfected the most necessary skill of his sport-shooting a basketball. Nobody saw someone as slight of frame, who looked like a boy amongst men, literally gas them in every which way imaginable. That's from basically any point on the court. He made height and body type almost obsolete. We knew what the likes of Shaq and LeBron were expected to do. No one saw Steph coming on this level except Coach Mark Jackson and the Warriors during practice. I know LeBron James is starring in Space Jam 2. which is cool. I my book Steph Curry's appeal would have been a better choice. From young girls and boys to women and men globally. Stephen Curry did without doubt take a back seat to Kevin Durant for the sake of the team to make a more cohesive effort for the betterment of the team. That in itself shows a leader that's unheard of to make sacrifices and yet be criticized for not doing enough. He allowed the coach and KD to let KD to take the leading role by having more hands on the ball, passing it to him and passing his own opportunities to shine.

    Lifelong Dubs fan here. Acho spoke the truth. This was Steph's team before KD got here and (for KD's ego) he decided to take less shots and score less points so that his team could become nigh invincible. It's not about "who's more alpha." It's being mature and having a team-first mentality.
    That's not even to speak about how his success has fundamentally changed the way the game is played... 🐐
