Hope this was helpful :) I've got a ton of cool tutorials like this planned for the Coloring Book this year, so I'm super excited to get working on them. Grab your free smart material & project file download here: courses.stylizedstation.com/courses/3dcoloringbook/lectures/26843111
One thing i might add is that the Baked Lightning is still dependant to the roughness and metallic value that you have underneath. So even if you are aiming at an unlit render and you care only about the base color, you still might want to set up the roughness and metallic in a layer before the bake, so that it will be more accurate (especially if you are going for a metal)
@@CrackedWood just be sure to have a layer with roughness and metallic values before the Bake layer in the heirarchy, nothing more. To test it you can try and view the base color alone changing while you change the roughness value (that wouldn't happen without the bake layer)
This is EXACTLY what I needed for the project I'm working on. Thank you so very much for your work and channel and I do hope that it becomes THE central hub for stylized artists. :)
I have been manually painting these in substance painter. Thank you so much!!!! Just cut off up to 6 hours of my work. I am definitely subscribing and coming for more courses.
Thank you very much for the quick tutorial. I've been getting into stylized art more while building my Unity Game. This was very easy to follow and enjoyable.
@@syedaliaskaririzvi1831 he responded in different comment, select 'base color' channel to only see color and not reflections and everything else. Simply press 'c' once, this should do the trick
One question tho, I see that you started with a really really flat color on the preview sphere, but when I start my project, I have all those reflections/shadows that you don't have, how do I do this?
I just recreate this mix in Quixel Mixer and it look awesome. The only problem that I have is with the layer blending mode in mixer, but it look exactly like yours.
@@StylizedStation I put it on Artstation www.artstation.com/artwork/Xn4O2a. Thanks for the tutorial, I use to hand paint everything in Blender, but I think it's time to change my workflow.
I need to make an old clay type material for a project I'm working on, so I chose rough plastic as my starting point, but honestly just can't wrap my head around what every generator does really, so I'm having a bit of trouble imagining what I actually need to do to make it, this helped a little, but I'm still stumped, would really appreciate any pointers.
How can i get the same thing without baked light? It leaves annoying shadows i dont want. (I need all in basecolor) please tell me if there is a way i am searching for months and couldnt find anything
thx for tutorial! It is very useful! I want to ask you about what is change if create stylized metal materials? Do materials have features, or we just connect metal's map?
Thank you for this! Can I also create a Stylized texture for my landscape using this method? I am using Unreal Engine 5, and I wanna create my own texture when it comes to Dirt and Grass texture, and not use the texture that is available in unreal. Do you have a tutorial on how to create a texture specific for landscape? Thank you once again!
Hey I don’t know if you still need this but I’ve been doing this by exporting a mesh “plane” the flat square mesh and importing it into substance painter then follow this channels “anime rock tutorial” but instead of using a rock mesh use the plane and make your anime or stylized ground from reference pictures and achieve the look using his anime rock techniques I’ve gotten amazing results!
You might have an older version of SP. You can also mess around with AO masks using the Mask Editor generator as well! Just look for the Ambient Occlusion Slider
How were u able to remove the global shadows? like mine has different tones Update: I was able to remove the global shadows Now I cant seem to make my Ambient Oclussion to work, the second layer just completely goes over the first layer (base layer)
hi! i wanted to take the free smart material bc it looks great but i have an older version of substance painter (that i need to keep because of the version asked by my school) so it doesn't seem to work... would you have a solution? :( thank you!
So apparently this method does not work on low poly meshes. I did a simple crystal mesh to test it out and apparently the gradients are all failing and cover up the entire thing. So the edge highlights are covering the entire thing. So one step that must be taken before is you gotta bake the normal curvature first.

Really helpful!
hello. But if I don't know English, is it possible to translate videos into my language in your courses?
One thing i might add is that the Baked Lightning is still dependant to the roughness and metallic value that you have underneath. You learn something new every day. Thanks for the tip.
How would you set up the layer before the bake? Don't really understand that part.
@@CrackedWood just be sure to have a layer with roughness and metallic values before the Bake layer in the heirarchy, nothing more.
To test it you can try and view the base color alone changing while you change the roughness value (that wouldn't happen without the bake layer)

How did you start with a clay look? At the begining you cant see the edges of the object
What did you set the file up as when you started? (i.e, pbr etc)

Rather than making a baked lighting fill, could I just put them in a folder and add a baked lighting stylized filter to the folder instead?
THANKS YOU
wonderfull, thank you

Use real lighting then lol
Thanks
Ty for help 😭
So basically when u export the textures u use only the base color option?
Excelente gracias

It depends on the style of metal, great topic for a future video :)
Stylized Station it will be cool!
sir please guide me what shader you are using in this course
Thanks man I loved the tips but the UI is too small it hurts my eyes.
The black mask always turns to a white mask when I apply a generator

looks cool but what happens if you flip the exported thing upside down
you forgor to mention to set the roughness of all layers to 1, otherwise it gonna looks weird with the reflection
can i use them commerical ?

Mine somehow ended up with a quite metallic look but the metallic is 0, did anyone know what's going on?
Im a bit late to the party, but what Enviroment texture are you using? It looks so "unlit"
Use the view basecolor only (right top of the 3d viewer) I think thats what you mean
