    I loved this video! and it is such a beautiful area. I have visited the Basque country twice and it is a region I have fallen for. The food and wine really is as good as this video portrays. Thank you Luke for producing such great videos.

    This seems to be such a charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much!

    Thanks Luke for posting this, being trapped in the US not being able to travel has totally sucked. I had a trip planned for Northern Spain next week with my Basque friend, so although this hurt me to watch, it was just what i needed even though i was jealous the whole time. Enjoying the podcasts as well.

    Love your style. Can’t wait to go back to the Basque Country, I’ve been learning Basque while I’m not traveling- waiting for 2022 (my mother wants to do the Camino for her 60th). My favorite spot was Donostia!

    Frankly, Pais Vasco and particularly San Sebastian (Donostia) remain the better options for Spanish summers. Cool weather, great beaches and delicious bocadillos, pintxos y joder, Txuletones. I wanna go back now for the weekend.

    Mascarillas? Inutiles. Sorry, just too clueless with face coverings and all. Ignorant measures imposed by narcissistic politicians should be mocked, not accommodated. Do you know of all the efforts to free the world, in Spain too? The food is delicious, just not worth the useless symbols of oppression. Disgust affects the appetite. Still couldn’t help but give thumbs up, the food is so good, in theory, just not worth actually going through the silliness in real life to enjoy it.

      I knew three young people who used to think exactly like you and are already dead 'cause they decided to be anti-science and to believe in conspiracy theories. Fortunately you're from a rich country and you do not have to see people dying around you every day due to COVID-19.

    • @CJ-hz1uj
      @CJ-hz1uj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      José Albarrán, appreciate your views. Might question that the past year was about politicians’ concern for people’s health. Having some experience with politicians, encountering none that did not at least have a narcissistic side, it seems their insatiable desire for control is more compelling for them. In brief, the impositions of the past year, and the anti scientific fear mongering posing as “science” to get more compliance, had nothing to do with health and everything to do with control. As healthcare lobbyists we never got a politician to take action, maybe at most perhaps provide lip service, by making any case for the idea that something would improve the health of their constituents. The impositions of last year were not about health, they were about control. Had politicians really cared about health they would have recommended rather than attempted to cover up measures that actually were effective, such as maintaining strong general immunity, an emphasis on zinc supplementation and vitamin D, favoring rather than suppressing availability of known treatments, and so on. Fortunate for some, such treatments were available through, it would seem unusually, wise physicians. They recovered quickly with no lingering illness. That young people’s deaths were at all avoidable makes it the more tragic. We might best direct our responses at those who tried to pull off last year’s scheme. It is understood that there may still be some somehow convinced that politicians, with their selected officials and media lackeys, might have some care for our health. It can be confidently asserted based on experience that they do not.

      @@CJ-hz1uj in many countries people wear masks because they know they work, because they have been proven to be effective. Most of saliva particles get trapped in the mask, that has not to do with control, it has to do with common sense. I don't understand how masks can be about controlling people, that doesn't make any sense. Let me tell you how government does control you: they have all the info of your credit cards, therefore they know how much money you have, and how much you owe; they know where you live cause they conduct censuses from time to time, they control you because you hire services: internet, electricity... They control you because we live in a community and our info is connected to anything, they will know if you don't pay taxes, etc. So if you don't want to be controlled, then you should live like Tarzan in the Amazon rainforest.

    • @CJ-hz1uj
      @CJ-hz1uj 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      José Albarrán, thank you for your thoughtful reply, yes, they have many ways they already can control us. Have said similar things. Sometimes people are not aware of all of what one professor at university called “controlling factors”. Would be interesting to see the media present some research from time to time confirming, with good non politicized science, the effectiveness of measures imposed or recommended last year. Thank you again, wishing you safe and well.
