My hubby has had gout incidents so fierce I cannot believe what he has gone through, he learned something though as his friend who also has it told him to use pure dark red tart cherry juice, no sugar...pure.. he didnt realize he meant every day, he thought for out breaks, he has only had about 8 outbreaks in his life, all severe though, entire foot turned blue and purple and couldn't walk for weeks...so he drinks 4 to 6 ounces every day..half early and half after dinner...what a difference and we are amazed at how it has changed things for him... so, we live and learn.

Great advice, I'm 58 and do roofing and carpentry work, time to quit the sodas. One thing I learned from the south of the border culture is a real man does what he has to do. I've seen simple Country guys decide to quit smoking or drinking and just do it

listing water (number 1) and green tea (number 10) as foods is lame. Water and tea are beverages. Vinegar and "vegetable" juices are beverages with some potential for well being but they won't sustain you the same way that food does. Very big omissions. Where's the beef?

My uric acid was at 938 (UK measures) and my kidneys were failing and I was unable to move for a week because of the gout in my feet.
I am still hardly able to walk and receiving physio daily to get me back on my feet.

Definitely - I had a gout flareup. Nasty. I've been looking what to eat and what not too eat. Damned near anything I look at on the internet, it says it's bad. I think they even put caveats on the drinking of water. Videos tend to drag out simple advice. This one was no exception. It would have taken 20 seconds to read that list, however, I liked the positive tone. And,......other than green tea all that food is good.

I have had very high uric acid levels for a number of years but recently has been so bad I am almost unable to walk because my legs and ankles are so swollen. I take apple cider vinegar ablets and tart cherry tablets.these help quite a bit but the thing i have found that helps me very much is drinking 10-12 8 oz glasses of water. The more water you drink the more uric acid is flushed from the body. You do need to watch your diet also. I can not drink soda pop. The people that know say drinking 64 oz of water a day is necessary and this video while very good should make water drinking to flush the uric acid from your body is the number one suggestion. It certainly works for me!

I have gout, but i have learned to control it. I have no maintenance drugs or special meals. I have learned that moderation is the best as far as food is concerned. I have learned what foods aggravates my gout so i don't eat them regularly.. like beef.. if i eat eat hamburgers in a row, my left knee starts to ache so i stop... once you know which foods affect your gout, stop eating them to see how much and how often you can eat them...
But definitely drink a lot of water... i watch my urine color at times when my gout is acting up and know i have to drink more.. Drinking a lot of water does gets to be a chore... Our body can get rid of excess uric acid, if you give it time to do that. Not all bodies react to uric acid the same way therefore what you eat, how much you eat, when and how often is a rule of thumb you need to establish yourself...

Colchrys/colchichine is helpful for fending off a gout attack. As soon as you see activity with doctor's advice take a couple of prescribed pills and then 1 more pill for an our after and another pill an hour after that. Gout Flairups are caused by the higher uric acid levels and an event in the body that triggers your body's response. Different foods may cause this, especially with a food allergy. When you become attuned to your body you can often identify activity before an all-out flair up. I would also avoid putting ice, etc. on a flair up (if you can even tolerate that pressure, as chilling the joint will make even more crystals. Look into the work of Dr. Perlmutter.

I am 74 and had been in excruciating pain for about five years recently discovered purine level of over nine, medication brought it down within a month to three I am a non drinker at this time in my life but am not opposed to wine or a good scotch, I do not want to test that I have seen a lot of things that cause the gout and have been trying to find my trigger foods, all of my favorite foods are on the negative list, kale, asparagus, spinach but this is the first list of all the positives and I am delighted that I love everything on the list so I am going to be proactive
The herbal medicine that helps with Uric acid is called Tones. I brought it originally for fibromyalgia pain which was probably the Uric acid it does help

Allopurinol is the only way to keep mine at bay. I'm on 200mg per day, but for the first month I was on 100mg per day. When I first started taking allopurinol the doctor said only take it when the gout is completely gone. After the course of gout pills I started taking allopurinol, but the gout was still slightly present and boy did it flare up again! So it was back on the gout pills again of which give me trots. Lol. But I've never missed a day of allopurinol since and I've been clear for 3 years now. It was always in my big toe.

most of us are walking around with too high of uric acid. Just because we don't have acute symptoms of gout there is a plethora of other problems that are occurring with levels much less than the ability to get gout. One should always have their uric acid levels tested and bring them down as deep as possible to prevent other peripheral damage to other organs and physiological processes.

Why would anyone "like" and "subscribe" before they even watch the video? Seems like that's a decision you make AFTER you watch a video.

Green tea, Apple Cider Vinegar 1 spoon in 8 oz water. 1 tsp lemon juice in glass of water 3 times a day. Vitamin C. Almond milk, cucumbers, celery. Olive oil when cooking has anti inflammatory agents. Flax seeds, WATER.

with green tea you should be careful due to the oxalate content, which exacerbates gout flare ups. If you have a minor gout flare up, green tea consumption will make it worse. Oxalates irritate and conflict with uric acid. Kiwi might taste delicious but it also has oxalates, I have experimated with consuming Kiwi while having a flare up..ugh my inbflammed joints felt like they were burning from the inside out. Coffee is a no go if you're managing gout.
