Omg. This was such a fun concert. He did this cover a lot. And it’s always good.
He also gave a lot of his guitars away to some older women, a teen girls first concert and many more people he really loved his people and wanted to give them all he could for their best time at his concert's.

There is actually an moment in the tape where he was talking about how he would find out how to make all of his fans feel special and also a lot of the stuff done in the concerts to my knowledge were unrehearsed and unplanned so some of the stuff was on a whim and he would just do stuff that nobody was ready for

wow! i knew garth was a huge billy joel fan but i had never seen THIS!!!! as said previously by Michael Carpenter billy wrote "shameless". as a matter of fact, the last time i saw billy joel live, his intro monologue to the song went something like.... "this next song is a song i wrote and put on the album and y"all hated it..... i gave it to a friend of mine and he took it to #1..... that was Garth Brooks..... but i'm gonna do it tonight anyway....." i was paraphrasing of course.
The guy in the White hat is Ty England. He is a good friend of Garth’s and has a couple albums of his own music and it’s pretty good too.

He was a huge fan of Chris ledoux who was known for his huge live shows and is often referred to as a rockstar in a cowboy hat. He’s openly said several times he copied every aspect of his shows in the 90’s from Chris, kiss,queen ect. Because he wanted you to get your moneys worth and truly be entertained for the time he’s on stage. He actually comes back and ends the show with “keep your hands to yourself” by Georgia satellites and absolutely kills it!
I was at this taping. Made me the fan I am today!!
This concert was also his first tv special called This Is Garth Brooks. The Dallas concert was also a tv special called This Is Garth Brooks Too. Earlier in this concert, Garth and Ty England (One of his guitar players) smashed their guitars together at the end of Friends In Low Places.

I saw him in 2015. He puts on an amazing show. And he’s always been a huge Billy Joel and Kiss fan.
Funny story about swinging on that thing. Someone might have told this in the comments already, but Garth told a story about one night where he jumped off the stage and the thing wasn't there and he just went sailing off the stage. lol. He was okay though.
Garth's voice sounds strained here because this is the last in a series of consecutive live shows. Truly his voice needed a break but he still nailed it.
Just think, by this time he was already the best selling artist of all time, and how the conversation went on the stage setup...
Not meaning to be rude but Garth has never been the best-selling artist of all time.

When Garth says that he "walked through Bedford Stuy alone", Bedford Stuy is a neighborhood in Brooklyn. So I guess it's a pretty rough neighborhood if he's saying "you may be right, I walked through that place alone. I must be crazy."

It's funny how you said that you bet Garth got in front of his mom when he was 3 and showed her a little dance. Garth said that when he was growing up his family had one night a week that was a talent night. On that night everyone would get in front of the rest of the family and put on their little skit.
It's amazing where talent comes from.

Billy Joel and Garth are friends. Billy has let Garth cover and re- record his songs. Like this song, Shameless and To make you feel my love. Billy Joel also was at Garth's FREE Central Park concert
Although Billy recorded To Make You Feel My Love before anyone else, it is actually a Bob Dylan written song and even he recorded his version after Billy though.
Garth's wife Trisha Yearwood does a nice version of To Make You Feel My Love too and both of theirs appear on the soundtrack to Hope Floats.

He took himself out of the nominations. He did that because younger artists like Miranda Lambert and Eric Church were complaining that someone twice their age who has more talent in the crap he flushed that morning is getting more nominations as Entertainer of the Year than they do. And they might say that he's not giving younger artists a chance to win, but that's not true. People like Miranda Lambert only care about themselves. She's just upset that she can try as hard as she can and never sell out a stadium or arena in minutes. And if she ever put on a free concert in Central Park, it wouldn't be packed with nearly 1 million fans. And those who weren't fans before were fans when they left.

There was going to be a movie about Chris Gaines' life. Garth and the producers thought it would be a good idea to let the public get used to Chris Gaines before the movie came out so Garth made an album so people could get to know him.
However, the bottom fell out for that show and everyone was left confused.

Aerosmith wrote Fever for Garth Brooks. That's what I was told.

In his TV special "This Is Garth Brooks, Too it focused mainly on his 6th album "In Pieces". When he performed his song "One Night A Day", he played the sax and he had just recently learned to play it, so he acted like he didn't do that good of a job. But he did.

His keyboard player said he could play it with the sound set to mimic a saxophone but Garth wanted to learn to play the sax solo part himself on an actual sax.

That's just the kind of performer he is. He's such a nice guy that in his tour in '98 he said in the middle of the show that he talked to a kid backstage. The boy said his favorite song GB sings is SOTF and he really wanted to hear it. Garth said that they weren't planning on playing that song but he'd see what he could do. He sang that song just for that little boy.
Obviously, or at least I think, the boy wanted to see Garth set the stage on fire, but Garth did say he wasn't planning on playing that song that night. At least he did all he could do. Cool guy. Democrat, but other than that he's really a good guy.
