    awesome explanations. thank you. i've been struggling with this for a while - but after your explanations and visual walk-through, everything that i was being told has suddenly clicked together. i understand what is happening much better now, and why these components are important.

    I forgot to explain why standby pressure is higher than margin. oops. I'll do a 3rd video on these controls. I want to talk about electric control of l/s and also about torque limiters anyways so I'll cover all that in the next one.

    This was very helpful to understand the Load sensing system. Would you like to do a Zoom education session to our trainees via Zoom. We are a Trade School in Sri Lanka. However due to Covid 19 lock downs & outbreak our study limited to online. Which make difficult to get the overall learning environment. Such as practical training. Thanks for your Video any way.

    Thank you for explaining this so well detailed!
    i got this pump on my 3,5 ton Pel job excavator but it just seems like it keeps pushing full oil.
    I know:
    the load sense signal is 0, but a high pressure comes from the pump to the load sense signal (tested that with open lines).
    the pump draws full engine power while not being operated and the engine can't get over 1800rpm...
    the pump does listen to the standby regulator as the powertake becomes less when i run the standby regulator out.
    I got a extra power regulator on the side of the pump which i plugged up, so that aint causing it either at the moment.
    i tried a different new regulator of a same pump, but same issue.
    To me it really looks like the destroke piston is having an issue and isn't returning completely out, or the spring must have broken or something like that.
    Could you maybe give me your thoughts on this issue?

    I've seen those pump control valves just like the one you have cut away there leak the load sense pressure so then the system won't build the correct amount of pressure. I've taken them apart and inspected them but never find anything wrong but after installing a new valve on the pump, the system works correctly. Any idea where in that valve the problem exists?

    Thanks for the great video. I am working on a project that will involve this type of hydraulic system and the pump I am considering is a Rexroth just like the one in your video. The problem I am running into is that the pump I am looking at does not have the DFR control housing attached to it. Would you know of a part number for just the DFR control block? Possibly where to get one from?

    • @hydraulics
      @hydraulics  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't really deal with any of that - I'm simply working with heavy equipment applications who all use their OEM part numbers. Any hydraulic shop that deals these sorts of pumps should be well versed though i would think. Good luck.

  • @leksa8087
    @leksa8087 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    @hystat Is there a power-limiting valve to prevent the diesel from stalling in this setup, or where would it be located if it had one? Rexroth manuals refer to this as "LA", which is a relief valve that overrides/lessens the LS pressure signal and destrokes the pump in case the combination of flow and pressure exceed the power of the prime mover (smaller then the pumps corner power). Any idea about this?

    My small fishing trawler has a pump which looks similar but I have a manual lever on the pump which I can use to give low through to high flow, I then have a normal two way control valve on the winch, is that some kind of load sensing pump?

    Like the video man. Have a question you may have an answer for. That looks like an a10vso28 or 45. Clockwise rotation. And the way that comp is on there in my experience doesn't usually operate correctly. Is that a standard dfr/dr compensator? I build and test these daily for a living and I've never come across one of these with comp controls facing your inlet port. Very informative video regardless. Im just hoping I might learn something. And also is that a caterpillar pump?

    • @hydraulics
      @hydraulics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Cat 416C I believe. All the ones on Cat, Bobcat, Volvo etc that I have seen are built this way around.

      @@hydraulics hey thank you for the info. I mainly deal with rexroth pumps. So cat and John deere show up now and again. But im not nearly as familiar with their design quirks.

    Thank you for your effort to explain pump control.. but I want to be sure from a point
    You said in this video (DFR pump means load sensing ) while in RR catalouge for pump A10VSO for example say just DFR not load sensing
    My qestion
    Is DFR means load sensing ??
    Or there is difference between them ?
    Thanks

    • @hydraulics
      @hydraulics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic and LS is how Caterpillar, Deere, Volvo etc refer to these "supply on demand" systems whether rexroth or other manufacturers.

    • @hydraulics
      @hydraulics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Although also Rexroth, that would be a hydrostatic pump- doesn't have anything on it like this control at all. Servo or pilot control from the cab likely just operates the servo on the pump... I can come up with 10 or 20 different things that could cause hesitation, Need someone who knows their way around hydrostatic systems to check it all out. Cat, Case and a lot of skidsteers use the A20 or A22 Rexroth type pumps that I *think* are on a ASV

    • @hydraulics

      the "X" for load sense signal is cast into the metal from factory. The tagwire with a cardboard tag and handwritten X is the drain passage into the case.
