I love what you said about her deep beautiful skintone. I'm not mixed, but I am a lighter complexion as well and have always felt darker skin is so beautiful and a lot of the times so flawless. I can stare forever🤎 Great review as always! I have her too and she's a beautiful doll.

@@minkagaston dark skin tones are beautiful there are more fun to dress up especially the coll afros
You can fabric dye the body and it'll make the joints more of the same color any color and then you paint it and when the joints chip they won't be as noticeable and you can also use super glue to protect the paint from chipping as badly it's still going to check no matter what oh and Rick dimor usually works the best

I bought the one with the braids and a knot and named her Gypsie after you. I LOVE this face. I bought 2 (to have one as a donor) and have kept both p-tails. They are in different areas. Also, I bought 2 green haired boys. On one I used a Sharpie to dye his hair brown (in bright light green at the roots shows but not in real life) and on the other I used acetone to totally remove his hair, quickly and efficiently. On both I removed the brows and the shadow and the lashes, leaving only liner around the eyes. Then I used dark brown eyebrow pencil to make them new brows. Yes it'll rub off but only if I want it to. On the bald one I removed his lipstick. The bald one vibes Yul Brynner and/or a black Mr. Clean. Looks good.

If you want a MTM skin match for Lavinia she looks like she'd be almost exact match for the dark tone Skipper face in wheelchair...unsure if you are trying to keep her on a curvy body though. My question is WHEN is Barbie going to give us a Tall MTM in dark skin?? I would love to have a tall in this BMR's skintone...she'd look amazing on a tall body as well as the curvy. Wishes.
Also - Grace Jones and Alek WeK have the most insanely beautiful skin I've ever seen. I think it all comes down to what people are used to seeing honestly.
True, it's sad to see sometimes, a lot of darker women have a complex about their skin and assume others dislike it. I personally think the deep dark tones are really unique and exquisite but. .. with such little representation, its no wonder some people feel they're skintone is not accepted by the majority. Everyone is beautiful in different ways. We hope to convey that through our dollies whenever we can.
Tall mtm with that deep coco tone would look amazing.
It wouldn't be hard to take a needle and thread and do some slip stitches on that flaw and close it up.
Now that my son has taught himself to sew, I feel less cranky about flaws like this. I can stitch it myself, but too lazy and preoccupied with other tasks. HAHA. But Jeenu loves sewing on his machine, so I feel better about that.

Her tones has yellow undertones and there aren't a whole lot of dolls with this skintone yet. But I will try and gather the dolls I have with that skin tone and show u guys which I have.
Oh and the rainbow high indigo doll looks like she may be a good match for being one that came in the rainbow dress I don't know I'm just facing that off of pictures I've seen of the indigo doll from rainbow high

I used this bmr doll body to put on the barbie fashionista with the blond curly hair. The one that has the half cornrow. It works pretty good. Just slightly off but look good. So if u have that doll it's, a decent match. 🍭😊💕

You have a toys r us in your area? Where are you? I thought toys r us went out of business... I haven't seen any BMR dolls in physical stores in my area. I definitely have to order them online if i want them. I have found them on walmart.com though.

Hello, thank you for reviewing this doll, she is on my wishlist. When i do get this doll, i want to do a head swap on another made-to-move, may i ask; what doll worked for you, or would you recommend?. Thank you.
I think this doll could get away with the made to move hiker skin tone... which is the same as the yoga MTM lavender top. But I did notice there are slight differences among the darker skin tones... in certain lighting. It's a bit trickier to match skin tones 100% these days, as Mattel has started producing some in between shades on many of the dolls. As long as there is not a huge difference, I suggest experimenting with different bodies. As for me, I was able to place the HARLEM THEATRE Selma head on this body and it blended well. And Selma was previously on the Yoga MTM Lavender top body, so that is the closest recommendation I have.
