Thank you so much for this video! This has helped me so so much! Question for you. How do you recommend splitting up inventory for wholesale versus retail? For example if I have 50 tops, do I have to create a retail item with 25 qty then a wholesale item with 25 qty or can I create just one item and have the purchases pull from the total?
This isn't a free option, but I used SimpleSync and it has been so so helpful. Basically you just make multiple products or product variants and use the same SKU name. SimpleSync will track the inventory based on SKU and update automatically to the lowest inventory. For example, if you have 50 tops that you want to sell for retail or wholesale, you would just have the inventory set to 50 for both (whether you set up as multiple products or variants) and use the same SKU "Top". If someone purchases a top for retail, then the inventory of Top will go to 49 qty, and SimpleSync will automatically sync the inventory so both the wholesale and retail quantities are synced to 49 for "Top".

Hello Emily, Thank you for the nice feedback! Concerning the shipping, you need to set this up within your shipping rates. You can watch this video th-cam.com/video/pbhEzwX2Yl0/w-d-xo.html, it will show you exactly how to do that . Concerning your second question, your wholesale products ( prices, offers, etc) will be locked. So normal customers don’t have access to them and they don’t see them. You can create a duplicate product (of your original one), put it under 50% sale and make it only available for wholesalers. Just keep in mind in this case to manage your inventory in a way not to be confused! And that is it! No need for a promotion code.

This is great info - a little out of date for following as menu has changed however ... you mention right at the start ....you don't need an app and it's free .... only to get half way through and there is an app needed and it's not free. Hello Tony! Glad you liked the video. Concerning your question, it depends on your business and how you manage your inventories. I usually create separate products for wholesalers with discounted prices if I am not using Shopify to track my stock.

If you are working with the code, just start by copying a the code of a required metafield ( usually the email) and changing it. But default this field will have the needed code modifictaion to be required.

Hello Diana, My default, if you give the same SKU for 2 products Shopify won’t track inventory right. So you need to use a third party app like Trunk for example or to do manually.

Hello Peter, the information submited will tell you. In your wholesale contact form you woud have more fields and more information like business name and adress. Those fields don't exsit for normal contact forms.

Hello Anisa, The wholesaler should be able to buy product in the same way as normal customers. If you are referring to allow your customers to create their own bundles, this is a totally different subject!

But there are apps that does. Or use coupon code valide for customers based on their tag ( there is an app called selly that does that) Use wholesale app along locksmith to get discounts for your wholesale customers, and even make it automatic discounts when they exceed certain amount of purchases and so on..

I decided to use the "Helium Customer Fields" app which allowed me to add fields, autotag customers, and saves me soooo much manual work. plus, the new fields I added like 'business name' show up in my shopify customers list! I made a wholesale sign up and when I add customer and send an invitation the customers makes an account but then it bring them to there account page but the navigation at the top is for retail customers. not my wholesale shop page. But I thought I followed all steps
Hello Matt, Sorry if you were confused! If you are using a new Shopify theme ( professional one), most probably you will not need to do any coding. In case, your theme doesn’t support adding fields to the contact form, I have showed how to add them and it is a matter of “copy paste”.

The title says no coding but you are literally playing with the code, which can be pretty dangerous if you are not a developer, I assume you could be, but many of those watching the video might not. Also you are using the worst practices when touching the code. It's great you are trying to share new things but at least you should know what you are doing.
Hello Hank. Thank you for your comment. In most of the theme, you won't need to touch the code, because they already allow you to add fields to your contact form. I tried to show here the case when the theme is not offering this option, thus I did play with the code. Nothing is dangeours because we have duplicated the contact form and created a new section to change it while keeping the original one untouched.

Yes, just go to the checkout settings and activate the accounts. It is under settings => Checkout =>Customer accounts => Accounts are optional

the log in is just a text section with a hyperlink. Click on the login page of your store, copy the link and use it.

I decided to use the "Helium Customer Fields" app which allowed me to add fields, autotag customers, and saves me soooo much manual work. plus, the new fields I added like 'business name' show up in my shopify customers list! Well worth the ~$30 monthly fee

I made a wholesale sign up and when I add customer and send an invitation the customers makes an account but then it bring them to there account page but the navigation at the top is for retail customers. not my wholesale shop page. But I thought I followed all steps

If you are using a new Shopify theme ( professional one), most probably you will not need to do any coding.
In case, your theme doesn’t support adding fields to the contact form, I have showed how to add them and it is a matter of “copy paste”.

Dawn theme is so bad can even edit form.
The title says no coding but you are literally playing with the code, which can be pretty dangerous if you are not a developer, I assume you could be, but many of those watching the video might not. Also you are using the worst practices when touching the code. It's great you are trying to share new things but at least you should know what you are doing.

In most of the theme, you won't need to touch the code, because they already allow you to add fields to your contact form. I tried to show here the case when the theme is not offering this option, thus I did play with the code. Nothing is dangeours because we have duplicated the contact form and created a new section to change it while keeping the original one untouched.
