Hey Scott I was going to buy just a regular Trek Verve this week (non electric) because it's only $700, and super comfortable. Then I saw this Solera 2, and I thought for just a couple hundred dollars more I can get a bike that pedals like a non electric bike and yet has electric bike advantages. But is this bike a good candidate for more upright handlebars? Can u recommend any other step through frame ebike that can just as easily be ridden without power assist, and ISN'T a road bike? I don't think one exists.

between velotric t1 st plus or soltera 2 - which would you choose for casual city and trail riding. i am Looking for a light ebike with power as a range extender.
I had my heart set on the Velotric but when Aventon lowered the price to 999, that got my attention. I saved $330 by buying the Soltera from the local bike shop. Plus since I got it from the local bike shop they warranty it for an extra year. All labor included. If something breaks After factory warranty I pay for parts only. So far I really dig the bike. Mine is naked, needs fenders, rack and a mirror. I think I will get a suspension post and tannus armor for Christmas.
I have the 7-speed shimano revoshift on my regular bike. I like the gearing of it a lot. But a big problem with it is the chain derailer is it is very sensitive. The chain falls off very easily, and when it does, no matter what you do, it won't come unstuck. It cost 100 bucks to have fixed at REI. BTW happy Thanksgiving (at least for me)!
Interesting. So far, the Revoshift has not given me any issues. Since these are newer bikes, maybe they figured out the issue and fixed them on the latest models. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I did.

Are ebikes usually this easy to ride when the battery dies or if the motor is off? Just curious as someone who generally forgets to charge his stuff lol
Depends on the bike. Since since those is lightweight with small smooth rolling tires, it makes super easy to ride this bike with no power. Other bikes with wider tires are going to be much harder. I have seen in the Facebook groups where people ride this bike without power then use the power when they get tired.
