    I couldn't tell who said "Kill'em right back." but that man of culture must wear a coat that's a brownish color.
    Space Westerns aside, the topic of post-incident response was golden.
    Thanks for setting these into a playlist, I just wish the pastor of the congregation I used to share in would have listened when I said that this is an important topic.

    Thank you for these John!!! I’m with ya, that first deacon didn’t have to die. A bear hug would have solved the problem temporarily, still sucks he had to die for us to learn 😢

    Man listening to Steve talk about Sutherland springs made me a man of God the way he talked about it and the way everything went down really changed my views on Christianity.

      He is adamant that God guided him in his shots. Listening to his interviews are powerful and I've met him in person and he's super humble and says that anyone would have done the same.

    The church we go in Texas has active duty police officers at the doors, and plain clothes officers in the crowd. We are good to go 😂

      That church in Houston has several uniformed officers on duty at the church. When the shooting started they hid like cowards.
      Security is your own responsibility.

    I CCW at our small rural church. Very few folks are aware, which is still too many in my opinion. My greatest fear is if/when something happens, how many folks in our congregation are going to be pulling guns while I’m trying to work. Who’s on who’s side at that point. I’m gonna need some extra mags.

    Im a firefighter for a fire Dept in Los Angeles and our pre plan is completely opposite of what you were stating about staging out.
    We no longer do that for about 10 years now. We go in with what we call a rescue task force and to render aid immediately to injured civilians and then extricate them.
    The rescue task force is also known as force protection for us. It’s comprised of a few officers and a few firefighter EMTs or firefighter paramedics. The officers are in the front of the stack and we are behind them wearing our ballistic vest. This type of “rescue task force” was just implemented with the active shooter at the school in Nashville. It’s becoming more of a standard for fire Depts and police depts to operate in this tactic for active shooters.

      That's good! I think it's pretty rare, though. I hope it's not rare!

    • @onelifetolive927
      @onelifetolive927 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is rare from what I have read. Most EMTs and emergency response won't send anyone in until the police say that it's safe.

      @@onelifetolive927 I’m surprised because like I said we been doing this for 10 years and I thought all of those days of us firefighters and paramedics staging out on active shooters is gone.

    'somebody is killing people at the back of the parking lot seems kind of stupid' > 'I parked at the back of the parking lot and someone is killing people by the door'. It definitely doesn't seem stupid.

    7:30. You’re so right. He should of never made it into sanctuary. Pull him off for some questions. The deacon/ safety team (assigned to the perp) (member should of not been sitting (if you let him in) and should have had his hand on the gun ready to draw.
    Sad, we presented to the pastor on addressing our church right after that shooting. He handed it off to the deacons who voted not to. I left the team that I created 👎👎😎😎

    Presence is a great deterrent/first defense. At my job in loss prevention, most of the time if you are nearby with line of sight on the bad guy, sometimes they just give up before they even try.
    I know it’s not the same as a shooter but the concept still applies as a first defense response

    • @ASPextra
      @ASPextra  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It does for sure.

    • @deadreckoning4132
      @deadreckoning4132 ปีที่แล้ว

      Presence is an outstanding deterrent. We've even seen proof of this in the covenant school shooting that happened recently in Nashville. The shooter had plans to hit another school but did not think they could get in due to the high security measures. There is a reason why we do not have many courthouse shootings in the United States. When you walk in, you're confronted with several armed individuals, he must go through a metal detector to get in and there are always armed individuals walking throughout the building.
