@Joshua Rivers never know, basketball is a business. Who wouldve thought isaiah thomas would get traded after a 60 point playoff game after his sister died
Grizzlies have an interesting young core and I really like the draft picks they made in the last few years. Hopefully they can stay injury free and continue to grow together. Bright future ahead, Memphis!
Bro you don’t understand how much of this Grizz fans had to endure this season. I love Jae but sometimes it was like watching a slow motion car accident
@@octopus8420 true but the Spurs sometimes put too much stock in them. Clarke was projected to go higher than his college star teammate Rui Hachimura, and he would've fit perfectly into the me
Brandon and Jaren could be a nasty defensive front court duo in the future. Jaren is already one of the best defenders at his position and Brandon was also a great defender this year.
Nice vid, from BC so I've been rooting for Clarke since Gonzaga and everything about him just seems he should be getting a lot more respect than he is.
A steal at #21. He played one year at Gonzaga....a team I've been watching since 1996, and he was so impactful, electrifying and consistent that he went down as my favorite zag of all time
Great video! Could u make one on the bulls defense? Theyre one of the more interesting defenses in the league they were one of the worst teams at protecting the rim but they were elite at creating turnovers and that ended up giving them the 13th best defense in the league. Itd be interesting to see the difference between them and teams like the bucks and raptors who are all in on protecting the paint
He was projected top 5 multiple times before the draft last year, his three point shooting was questioned by multiple espn analysts, which is why he slid
@@1JBTheGiant he also slid because of his wingspan despite the fact that at Gonzaga he was one of the best shot blockers in the nation and his defense at the nba level will only get better and better as he gets more minutes and hopefully become a starter. He went toe to toe with Zion when the zags beat duke in Maui and I expect Clarke to possibly make at least two or three all star teams while being a key starter for the grizzlies for years. He’s the kind of player that dominates his role and can make any team a lot better
Clarke was a shotblocker in College, so it doesn't surprise me that he gets stuck in no mans land sometimes cause he wants to protect the rim but knows he isn't being asked to do that as much in the NBA as much as when he was cleaning up for Hachimura last year. Super high on that Duo last year and I hope that they continue to be promising
@@Konata615 Russ and Harden both are two of the best passers and at running to the rim and drawing in help defenders, I believe he would fit quite well, getting a lot of open shots, D'antoni encouraging him to take them. And to be honest, efficiency is something Houston should be wanting. Always a matter of the system you play in. Hope he stays in Memphis though. - edit: only concern would be his young age and missing experience.
Clarke give me siakam vibes , when siakam was just an rim runner with defense at first. Maybe we will see if clarke develop his ball handling more , shot -creating ,and 3ball
I know Brandon Clarke because the CPU on mycareer cannot guard him in the open floor and he blocks everything it's nice to see a break down and see that he really is a good player with lots of potential
I have no idea how he slipped so far in the draft. The analytics community absolutely LOVED him and many of them had him in the top 10. And with good reason. He literally had the best statistical college season of anyone in the past decade besides Anthony Davis and Zion Williamson. College stats aren't everything, but when you're that absurdly dominant it tends to translate.
Now we need one on Gary Trent Jr. He's been absolutely incredible this season, and many of us Blazer fans sincerely believe he should be our starting 3, or in certain situations, our starting 2 over CJ, since he's proven he's an all around player (unlike CJ or Melo) who provides committed consistency and passion on both ends of the floor.
Another player to add to the coach Daniel team; Ben Simmons, Dante Divincenzo, Cody Martin, Brandon Clarke and Christian Wood with Terrance Davis and Grant Williams off the bench
The grizzlies have a great young core led by Ja and JJJ of course. They also have what seems to be surefire young players like Clarke and De'Anthony Melton. Also they were able to get young players that their teams gave up on in Josh Jackson and Justise Winslow. My bet is that both will work out better here than on their previous teams, but even if only 1 of them do that'd make it worth the chance the grizzlies took on them
you can thank Gonzaga for his development. Literally the 2nd most efficient player for a single season in college of ALL TIME behind Zion (of course). Went from not being on any draft boards into becoming a 1st rounder, and should've been a lottery pick.
He would fit in really well with the Washington Wizards. They need a good defensive center like Gobert or Turner, maybe Adams, and a good PF like Clarke or Williamson.
I'd be curious to see how Clarke's career would pan out on a team with a non-shooting Center, since he's a PF who can't really masquerade as a wing, but also isn't big enough to play the 5 in an NBA that is increasingly moving towards 1-3-1 lineups(1 guard, 3 wings, 1 big). Luckily for Clarke he has the perfect frontcourt partner in JJJ, whose 3 point shooting ability will allow Clarke to thrive as a rim roller. He's also a good match for Memphis in that Morant and JJJ should be more than enough playmaking for the Grizzlies to thrive on offense so Clarke, as a good finisher, can focus on his strengths, and not have to worry about actually creating his own shot.
Yes though the reason I didn't talk more about the JJJ and Clarke pairing is because the on/off splits with those two actually aren't very good. Interestingly, Val and Clarke play really well together and have a good plus/minus. That being said, I want to see these numbers next year as well to see if they hold up.
If Bazeley puts on some size I reckon OKC will benefit from his shooting. But would have been a great replacement for Grant, especially with CP3 and Schroeder throwing him lobs!
I've been so hung up between Grant Williams and Brandon Clarke. Clarke seems like the better lob finisher and offensive presence down low, while Grant Williams seems like the better defender and passer. Both have good ability to shoot the ball, so time will tell who the better PF turns out to be. I should add that I'm a Celtics fan and I've been very happy with the Grant pick
The Celtics have a great one in Grant. Clarke is a bit more athletic at this point but once Grant gets a better feel for the game in the NBA he will be a great contributor for Boston. I am excited about having Clarke as a Memphis fan though.
Lakers should be watching this as a scouting report= Anthony Davis must be reliable at 3-pointers in the corner to keep that Twin Shot-blockers lineup on the floor.
It’s drafting and developing players like this that lead to championships.
Grizzles are gonna be amazing if they remain healthy for like the next 5-6 years
Try telling the knicks that
THE RETRO SAVAGE it also depends on if they keep the same team
@Joshua Rivers who knows if someone gets traded
