      In the future you’re going to see more and more of that cus soon being in a cell in prison where you are safe and free food and comfort will be better than this society when wars start for resources and land when there’s too many people in the world and all the poor get kicked out to make room for the rich.

      The reason we herr in norway have prisons set up like this is because we think that its pointless to give peaple harsh living conditions instead we let them think about their life choices. They also have acess to a older play station with no online games. However as my may think the game console is a game changer just think about how boring it gets after youve completed all the games. I honestly think this system is much Better than usas system. This is just my opinion i guess other people have different answers. I wrote this on my iphone so dont roast my spelling...

      That's crazy really, you're punished for not breaking the law, if they can afford to provide conditions that good for criminals the government should provide that as a minimum for every citizen and the only difference is if you're a criminal you can't come and go as you please.

    • @KrisRifa
      @KrisRifa 8 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      +Mats RB That's bullshit. The Norwegian social net gives you food, money and a home if you can't provide for yourself. If you're homeless in Norway, it's because you choose to be. And not because the government doesn't help or provide for you. We even provide the same basics for drug addicts.

      +Jonas Dalbakk Exactly, I used to work as social worker and one of mu clients was a "murderer". After a night out with heavy alcohol consume a aquarelle develops to a fight and this guy happens to kill his mate. After 10 years he came out. It was difficult to get a flat for him as in the local society, everybody knew he was a "murderer". We managed to a flat from the municipality. I met the guy after one year. He had a job and lived with a lady and waited for his first child. A decent little family.

      It’s more about culture. The US is a completely different situation, than the homogeneous culture of the small Norway. The US is 65 times larger in terms of population, and we have way more immigrants. Plus, we have created ghettos in the inner cities which have caused a self perpetuating cycle of crime. If the US treated it’s prisoners like Norway does, where the maximum sentence can’t exceed 21 years, we’d have a huge amount of reoffenders. Rapists being released and raping again, murderers killing people again. Plus if you look at statistics, US has a higher ratio of individuals with anti-social personality disorder, a disorder which is very hard to rehabilitate someone from. It might work in a small country of 6milkion people, where everyone has the same culture.

      it is highly unlikely to get to one of these prisons, as most of them are for few selected people only to get a chance to join society and not as a punishment due to their family, past or something else that has made them do bad stuff. the point of these prisons is not to teach a lesson to inmates but to give them a chance to change themself and become a part of society.

      It's all lies 😂 I spent a long time in Wandsworth prison and believe me it's a shit hole, drug addicts ever ware it's filthy the officers and worse than the inmates, no one listens to shit radio wanno and I doubt that program still runs anyway,
      your banged up for 22 hours of the day,
      I worked in the kitchens there and that is the smartest move you can make in that prison if you end up there as you get better food options, also the toilet is at the bottom of your bunk bed and all that separates you from the sound and smell of your cell mate taking a shit is a curtain, the cells them self are 6 feet by 8 feet and all you hear are people screaming at each other out the windows, the mattress on your bed is 2 inches thick and filthy you spend most the night ripping your skin off, the education system there is a joke they get older inmates to teach the classes, I guess what I'm trying to say is
      DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE

      I'm not proud of going to prison I'm ashamed, however I felt I had to express my opinion as it's based on experience and my experience was nothing like this video believe me,
      don't get me wrong the prison system is a joke !!!! I believe sentences should be shorter but a whole lot harder than they are,
      it's because of the prison raychem that inmates keep returning, if it was a tough dark army style place ware you were broken down and built back up people would find strength in themselves to become better people, but in prison the only concern the staff have is that the ship sails smoothly and by that I mean inmates don't bother them, drugs to some degree keep a calm order in prison so officers turn a blind eye most of the time, they also get other inmates to do there dirty work and by that I mean when officers in counter a difficult inmate they will approach a tough inmate on the wing and ask him to " keep him inline " the system fails the inmates just as much as the inmates fail it

      Not really. Here in Norway most people have everything they need. Having your freedom removed is ... extreme for most people here. Culturally we take up a lot of space, so to speak, and being put into a room the size of half our bedrooms is not pleasant. If we had jails like in the US we would experience riots and a hardening of the criminal.

    Quite a few of these luxuries are exactly what some of the inmates need. My hubby has been a correctional officer for 14 years and is now chief of security at one of our state prison farms. He taught me that not all inmates are necessarily bad people, especially when you're talking about work release or minimum security. In our state, we have 2 large farm complexes. The inmates work the fields by hand and tend livestock. The tax payers DO NOT contribute to feeding the population. Anyway.......there are complete assholes anywhere you go, but some of these guys are gonna serve relatively short sentences. If they're gonna stay out of prison, they need a trade or a skill. For some of them, just having a chapel and religious services really does help them. They're people, they're imperfect. A little help can go a long way. And I love the idea of seperate prisons for the elderly.
    That being said, there are some crimes that land them in the max or supermax, and those offenders should never see the light of day again!
