I do that but use water from the tap and let my jewelry soak for a day or two and most of the gunk falls off on its own. Then I give a light scrub with a spoolie brush and a quick rinse. Works great!
Awesome advice! You might want to heat your tap water a bit too (just a bit under a boil). That helps a lot for any jewelry that's really dirty. Thanks!
