I also was born and raised just east of Indianapolis and have not missed an Indy 500 since 1986, sans COVID last year. The 500 is in ones blood. His stories from the 60's and 70's are a treasure from that era of open wheel racing. Robin will be missed from the Indycar community and fan base.

I live in Australia, feel very much a part of the Indycar community since properly following in 2015 (went to the Champcar race in Sufers a few times as a kid). Robin was definitely a dominant personality when I got more interested, wish I could have meet him and had a beer with him.

Brilliant way to honor the memory of an Indianapolis and Indycar legend. I read Miller and watched his TV appearances for the last 25-30 years...always loved his directness, honesty, and clear eyed view on the daily machinations of Indy car racing and motorsports at large.
Huge bucket of win,. He will be missed!
Godspeed Mr Robin Miller, and thank you.

I would always read with great anticipation Robin’s weekly Mail Bag letters. Would contribute from time to time as well, many times getting ripped for my terrible assessment of IndyCar. Would laugh out loud at my work desk! Sometimes a personal email. Will be forever great full. A true legend of our sport, will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Robin Miller

I'll miss Miller's Mailbag, he even got the great Bobby Unser to answer a question of mine, that was really cool. Robin your passion for Indycar will be greatly missed.

It was always so cool when he would respond personally to E-Mails I sent him. After Tony George was sent packing by his family, I one time suggested to Robin (in satire) that Tony George was set to announce the 'Indy Baking Powder League' because the people at Calumet Baking Powder hadn't shown him enough respect. He loved it. RIP Robin.

      He didn't like the IRL
CART started that whole mess in 1979.
It's ironic that the Human George family asked Tony George to go talk to Roger Penske about buying the track . Because what Tony George did for Indy Car was actually good .He took back control of open wheel racing by putting CART out of business in the end.
And even with Roger Penske owning the track and the series the speedway and it's racing series are still in control of open wheel racing.

After a year of doing the drivers' steering wheel grips, I saw Robin at the track one day...I had a wheel in my hands at the time. So, I held it up and said, "Hey Robin, have you seen these yet?"
His response, "Yeah, those are really neat!"...made MY day, lemme tell ya!. Godspeed, Robin, Sir.

I've taken this loss harder than I thought I would. I spoke to him maybe ten times over the years when i managed to get my hands on a pit pass. He always had a moment to talk with an average fan. I would always ask him how TK was going to do the last five or so times I spoke with him, he just loved talking about TK. He was an integral part of the fabric of our community and he will be sorely missed, who is left to speak truth to power?

What a great tribute to not only Robin, but to his many truly great friends and family that were here for Robin on this very special day !
We lost one of our sports truly great heroes !
Our sport would not be what it is today, without Robin's dedication, and passion to the sport of
    IndyCar !
Thank you to so many, to have made this tribute to our friend so wonderful !
Special thanks to Roger Penske, and his staff, this could not have been possible without you, and this great place we call the Speedway !
    We'll all miss you Robin ! 😎

The very best part of Robin was his brutal honest opinions regardless of who it offended or pissed off. He ALWAYS said it like it was period. I never felt like he was sugar coating anything and told the truth. 👍. Extremely Rare commodity today.

Can you imagine the racing collection of memorabilia that Robin (and Bob Jenkins as well) have that they left behind that his estate could sell? Better yet, they shouldn't (unless they really, really need the money) and give it all to IMS to display in their museum forever. Because, you know, you can't leave that sort of stuff alone for decades collecting dust.
