Fantastic work.! I'm a metal shaper, but limited to reproduction of antique, or custom automotive and motorcycle parts. The artistic side of metal shaping is always amazing to me. I recognize the off dolly and on dolly techniques, and when and why you switched between the two, but I don't think I would ever be able to make a face like that.. But after seeing your inspiring video, I might have to give it a go..!! Thanks for posting.!
Amazing helmet mask though I will say that the eye holes are a little large and would be a disadvantage for the user of the helmet. Would you be able to show us the process of making a Roman Cavalry Mask?
How did the metal turn gold exactly? Was the brush extending a torch heat blue process or was the torches heat making the copper deposit onto the metal? Very cool trick!
@marksmallman4572 Yeah that was my first guess. I've seen cases of straw blue and blue-blue from cooling in the air but I never seen it end with a black haze over the top and able to be polished out. I kinda thought a polish would affect its color
@@hughgrection3052 the upper gold area you ask in the first comment is show in the video. The steel is heated, then a brass wire wheel brush is used. This deposits the brass onto the steel to give the gold finish
@facs599 Ahhhh... ok. Makes sense. Yeah wasn't sure if it was there already and was being revealed somehow, or if it was a straw gold heat treat. Brass being transferred makes good sense. Thanks bud
You are an amazing craftsman, with forearms like Popeye no doubt!
Reminds me of something in 300 when the Spartans battle the immortals
You know what, once I don't have neighbors anymore, I wanna try my hand at this
The part that makes the Chinese warrior mask is very valuable for reference👍🏻

not copper, an annealing process, the steel changes colour at different temperatures.
