I don't know if you read your missions. It's pretty funny. "Terrible news, Rean! A malevolent worm has swallowed Towa whole! What will the Courageous DO without its darling marshmallow mascot? ...Okay, so that was a fabrication, but just think: what if she HAD been swallowed? You'd surely do your best to kill that monster, no?"
The creepy-sheep-and-hot-springs-quest was actually a reference to the similar sidequest in Sky SC where creepy sheep were spying on hot spring visitors and Estelle and the party took a bath in an attempt to bait them, before they fled and assembled into a giant Voltron sheep. Angelica's at her best while on her home turf of Roer since it emphasizes the fact that Angie is not JUST a pervy comic relief who cannot approach a loli without wanting to hug her, but also a member of one of the Four Great Houses with a troubled relationship with her dad and someone with one hell of a lot of clout for a progidal daughter who ran away from home once and spent several years away from the province. Too bad this is kind of the last time Falcom lets us see this side of her.
I know she gets a lot of flak. But this is really peak Angelica here. So many different ways of being a noble, and even Angelica has a belief on what it means for her. And at the end of the day, her Dad actually respects it.
Angelica's problem as a character is that she's a character with a fair amount of depth whenever she's on her home turf of Roer (this section of Cold Steel II and chapter 6 of Cold Steel I) and a fairly one-note pervy comic relief whenever she's not. She'd probably be getting less flak if her Gwyn-with-ovaries side was less pronounced and the side of her that's shown in this sub-chapter got more exposure.
@@Erpy80 Completely agree. I would argue Olivert is a perfect example of this as he is just as bad as Angelica. The writing for him is way better though, because he can turn it off when the plot calls for it and has an extremely interesting overriding plot to drive him. Where as Angelica, as you pointed out… non specific spoilers… they have nothing else for her writing wise except to write her pervy side. Which is supremely disappointing considering where the story goes. Having her character be a bit stronger would have greatly helped where the story goes in Cold Steel 3 and 4.
I immediately knew that nun was Angie, my Sky senses were tingling, especially after the intermission chapter just straight up reuses the idea from SC.
5:50 "I can be a main character too" There's a strong fanon theory that Towa IS a protagonist (of a past game that was never made or published). She meets all the tropes. Humble beginnings, perpetual image of the underdog, succeeds perfectly in everything she does (and she does seemingly everything), Constantly helps others (implied that she did all the side-quests before she delegated them to Rean), she has her own party of rag-tag plucky teenagers from wildly different backgrounds who all look up to her, and she's even earned her very own Airship base to captain! So, much like how past protagonist Estelle mentored and supported Lloyd, Towa could easily be the past protagonist who mentored and supported Rean.
I mean that's pretty fair, Towa was a part of proto Class VII (Class VI?) in her first year, so yeah she would have a year of experience, side quests and field studies. So she perfectly does everything about the Trails gameplay loop except for the big main story stuff.
3:25 There's a "teach the children" trivia quest in every arc. It's a Trails tradition. Along with the Peeping Tom quest (which you got later!), Phantom Thief B runaround quest, and missing cat quest (which is in almost every single game). 4:25 Sara would get along with Atelier protagonists. 4:47 The narrator is the true best character in the series. The only one who's in every single game... 6:40 This is why I'm assuming you're using an NG+ file, because in a first-time playthrough, this would be the first time Thomas reveals himself to the player. That little throwing off the hood thing that gave it away last time is an NG+ exclusive, because the audience is expected to already know who it is. He doesn't do that in a first-time playthrough. 39:40 Rare cool Irina moment. (Did NOT remember that cat sound effect lol. That's pretty funny!) 48:40 The best of Angelica! Actually, this whole video. This is why I like her, whatever the rest of the fandom says. 58:00 Yeah, this whole scene is pretty sad. Especially as Rean feels he could've saved him. He did do horrible things as a terrorist, but just giving up and dying because you feel you have nothing left to live for is always depressing to see. You were right to avoid the barrier joke there, since it was an emotional moment. Wonder what he and G will talk about in Gehenna.
I'm pretty sure I picked a fresh save from scratch. Maybe it's a bug or something. I did put sen patcher on the game so idk if maybe it inserts NG+ scenes or something. Thomas took the hood off ages ago from my pov.
@@weaponsci Interesting but ohmigosh Weapons I'm sorry this is so late but I completely got the wrong date and thought it was supposed to be the 29th something really important I almost missed. Today (24th of June where I am) is Trails' 20th anniversary! Sora no Kiseki was first released on the 24th of June 2004 on Japanese PCs. It's the big day! Happy birthday Trails and Sky FC!
I love the music that plays when Thomas reveals himself. It's the theme that played when Crow and Millium joined Class VII in the first game. Good old, Angie. You gotta love her! ;)
Alicia: "you never took ME out on your bike, what gives?!" Rean: "the risk of you getting thrown off **whispers** by me... **ahem** was too great..." Alicia: **GLARE**
We're back into the fray, let's go! - Introducing stopover days, it's basically the same as a free day, so that means more bonding events, I'll cover them on the other comment, but as you notically, basically everyone is available, so you have 12 bonding events for just 5 points, hard to choose. - The mysterious hooded guy reveal his identity to Rean, and it's none other than Thomas Lysander the tank engine...... Yeah, I'm pretty sure Rean wasn't expecting him of all people XD, and frankly, neither would we had we not seen him removing his hood in Act 1, because I agree with him, he's a master of disguise, especially for his voice, you can recognize that it's the same voice actor but since he always had a goofy voice in CS1, him doing a more serious sinister voice make us think it can't possibly be him; he was sent by the principal to help the students in the area as covertly as possible (which is why he helped us back at the bridge), but now that the region isn't under occupation, he no longer has to worry about being covert and can join our little crew (also, how dare you skip the part of the scene where he pledge to Rean his support, his life and his love and that he can sleep easier at night knowing he'll be right here, that was an Olivier moment if I ever saw one). - and now it's back the Erebonia Touring with a bunch of new sidequest (as you saw, XSeed had fun translating the name of the Sidequests, as well as the monster extermination ones written by Olivier, read them, they're worth it for the comedic value alone) Including a mandatory one against Abyss Worms--OH GOD, THEY'RE BACK!!!!! Judging from the fact that you didn't even show even 1 second of the fight in the video, I'm guessing it wasn't too eventful; yeah for these fights, you only have 2 options: either you go one at a time you avoid the several earth-shakers in a row, or you go all guns blazing to kill them before they do too much damage; and the second option is the better one since the first isn't really viable, maybe it's possible on lower difficulties, but since there are 6 of them, the damages they do even without earth-shaker can pile up and becoming unmanageable, not to mention that it's not easy to target specifically one enemy with the crafts (or even normal attacks in the case of Machias and Millium), so the alternative of shredding everything is not only more fun, but is quicker too; but as I said in an earlier comment I think, that perfect summarize the gameplay of this game: shred the enemy before they shred you. -I see you started to play Blade II, yeah there's two new cards: Force and Blast, and you probably should've read the instructions before playing, blast allows you remove a card from the opponent's deck and play afterwards, it's a card that can be good but rely mostly on luck on your part since you don't know which card you target until you confirm your choice, you got a 1 or a 7, good, you got a 2 or 3, too bad; Force on the other hand can be really strong since it double your current total strength, so it may be best to save for the end right ? However, a Bolt or Mirror from the opponent can make that strategy crashing down easily, so there's still some great mindgame to do. Honestly, Falcom should produce real life blade decks, sounds like a fun game to pass the time ( I think there was one in a collector edition but I don't remember). - Ah, the hot spring sidequest, you mentionned it resemble the one in Azure with the penguins, but actually, this one is more similar to the one in Sky SC, where it was also a hot spring (Elmo) and it was also Creepy Sheeps who were peeping, except this time you have a snowboard part with a banger in the background (Seriously, take the Windward! is great), with a boss sheep at the end, and not a sheep fusion like in SC that came out of nowhere XD. -Next, you have the mech mock battle with Neithardt, who managed to capture this command unit during the assault on the base; and just from this fight alone, you can see how much the provincial army sucks at piloting compared to what the guys of the imperial army are capable of, because that's definitely the hardest mech battle so far in the game (the game also consider beating him to be a bonus since it not only let you continue after you lose, but also grant 2 AP if you win), his stance can obliterate your HP bars in a few hits, especially the Mountain Cleaver one that can detete about HALF OF IT in one strike; so yeah, in this battle, it's better to be on the defensive, with either Morning Moon, the defense command, or impeding his stance with Lustrous Slash, and attack when he's in his normal one, but even then it's not easy because his "weak" spot isn't a 4 star, meaning you're not guaranteed to unbalance everytime and be able to launch an unite eventually, he's not Neithardt the Mighty for nothing, that's for sure. - and as the tour comes to an end, we have the oncoming call of a very familiar face: Angelica; you were wondering earlier in the game about how we didn't hear squat about her since the festival, welp, there she is XD, her situation at home isn't exactly, and it's very likely that it's going to end on a full-on brawl between her father and I (which ends up happening at the end of the section), but more importantly, she found out where Alisa's mother is detained, but she can't talk more than that because the Marquis's forces found her, forcing her to cut off Contact and making us worry in the process and deciding to infiltrate Roer..... Which is not going to be an easy task since just like Bareahard, it's one of the major stronghold of the alliance, so getting near it will be a problem, even with the Courageous (Emma also mention if you talk to her after the Angelica Convo, that you can't teleport in the vicinity either since the Nortia province, with its modernization, has almost no animisim monuments left, glad they brought up that detail), so we dedice to ask help for Gywn, and he has just the idea: riding a boat from a stream that comes form the Ymir mountain all the way to the little river west of Roer....... Quite a bold plan sir, but it works nonetheless XD - After a brief scuffle with the guards at the entrance that ended a little too well with one of the guard letting us through, the infiltration in Roer is successful, niw to gather infos: I thought I would talk about them in the comment, but nope, they're mandatory, so I'm doing it here: They are some familiar faces in the city: namely Linde, Hugo and Instructor Mary, Vivi and Becky will be happy to hear that they're okay (and Gaius and Instructor Sara will have additional dialogue with them since they were in the same club and instructors respectively); Linde's currently staying at the general good store where she's helping out, and Mary is staying at Mint's place (where her mother thinks that she's Makarov's fiancee and wants to judge if she's good enough for her brother XD); Hugo actually managed to come back to Heimdallr to help his family's company, Heimdallr is probably the safest place to be, but it's not all sunshine because information control over there is really tight, you can't approach the palace, and no one knows where the imperial family is, he came to Roer to make business with the RF store; at the church, we have a suspiciously new sister (who, unlike Thomas, is quite recongizable even when she's putting a voice); but most of all at the RF building, meet Heidel Rogner, Angelica's uncle and director of the 1st factory, the one responsible for steel processing and the same who was accused of steel embezzlement in the last game (now we know where all that steel went to: the soldats), he has taken over Irina's role as active Chairman and he even use the penthouse as his proterty, which is quite a dick move since he's a noble, and a Rogner at that, he doesn't need to do that and yet he does because he can and he wants to feel superior, which understandably infuriate Alisa since he invades on their personal lives and property, as for comment, I'm surprised you didn't brought it up in the last game, but I don't think it's that strange for the house of a rich person to be inside the corporate building they're owning, especially if the building is big; another factor could also be that, until Orchis Tower was built, it was the tallest building on the continent, so what better way to show your power than to live at the top of the tallest building ? We have another mention of the Lusitania at the airport, the airship from Sky the 3rd, apparently, it serves as Duke Cayenne's personal ship nowadays; oh, and I see you found Anton as well, yeah, he's searching everywhere for Ricky, he was in Celdic before the infiltration so he really gets around,
- Anyway, Alisa receives a call from a friend to go to the diner, and we find that the sister we saw earlier was none other than Angelica herself, while her voice is still recognizable, the last thing you'd except out of Angelica is her putting a nun outfit, so high marks for the disguise, it worked quite well; but yeah, time to get catched up on what's happening in Roer: the situation is getting worse, so Angelica decided to something and rebel against his father, she's basically planning a mutiny by gathering supporters among the provincial army, it's thanks to that that we got into the city in the first place since the guy who let us through was one of those supporters who recognized us as Angelica's friend (you can actually see the difference between the 2 guards with the different onomatopoeias they used, the guard who didn't know reacted with the normal one when they notice something (the one that goes "bok"), whereas the one in the know reacted with an exclamation mark, so he knew instantly), she doesn't have many though, lost of them are still loyal to the Marquis, but she still has access to armored card AND soldats, which is a huge asset for her mutiny; and we also learn something unexpected: the Marquis actually has doubts about the alliance's actions and feels guilty for the occupation of Heimdallr, which is quite the surprise, since as a part of the big four, we thought he would be totally on board with it, much like Duke Cayenne and Albarea but nope, just goes to shows once again that the Noble alliance isn't as united as they want us to think, Marquis Rogner is not a fan of the Reformists, which is probably why he allied with the rest of the Nobles, but his loyalty toward the Emperor and the imperial family is true and genuine which is also probably he's not too happy about the current situation, to the point that he actually shouted at Angelica during one of their dispute, that if she's so sure she's right, she must prove it to him with brute force, meaning he's actually willing to listen if Angelica beats him, it's not gonna be easy since he's personnally leading the provincial army from the fortress of the region: the Schwarz Drache Barrier in the south of Roer, but she's ready and all her supporters waits for her command. - So yeah, there's not really a place for class VII in this affair, it's clearly a Rogner family issue...... Until Irina comes into play; which involve Alisa into this and therefore Class VII, who offers their help to the plan: Irina is currently held at the Sachsen Iron Mine, aboard the Eisengraf, the red train of the imperial Government that Osborne used to get to the Trade Conference, it was requisitioned by Heidel Rogner as his plaything, they're not treating her bad, but the problem is that the security is handled by Jaegers, and it's not the Northern one since they're employed by Duke Albarea and the Provincial Army; Heidel Rogner is actually a pussy since he completely cowers before Irina, which is why he wanted her as far away as possible to wredte control of the company, once Irina is freed, taking back the RF building shoudn't be that much of an issue, but the jog will be up by then; so to summarize the operation: first : go to Sachsen Iron mine and free Irina, second: liberating the RF building and placing Heidel Rogner under arrest, third : go to the Schwarz Drache Barrier and confront the Marquis with Angelica; that's a lot and it needs to be quick, because if it takes too long, the Marquis' forces will crush us, the element of surprise plays a lot here, the operation is a literal Blitzkrieg (which is funny, since that's the name of the track that plays in the next section at the mine), so it's go time LET'S GO!!!!! -....... Or not, since as you probably saw in the guide, you get bonus AP if you're curious and go pay a visit to the Schwarz Drache Barrier, which means going through the Nortia highway, with chests to loot (including one with a master Quartz), you learn along the way Millium's absolutely ridiculous new S-craft, that rival Tita's satellite cannon in every way; get to see the fourth shrine of the game, but can't visit it right now, we don't have THAT much time, and like you guessed, it's the ignis shrine, so it's related to fire, but not like I guessed, it's not in a corresponding environment, although you could argue that the surrondings look like it was burned, but that's a stretch; and as a reward besides the AP at the Barrier, we see another student: Margarita.....you know, the one obsessed with Vincent XD (and since Millium was in the same club, bonus dialogue for her), she was staying at the academy since she was a noble, until her family picked her up to go home, after which she snuck out on the way back to return to the academy where Vincent is, but she's stuck here for now....... What sense of priorities in a middle of a war XD; quite a detour, but NOW we can go on with the operation. - Phase 1: the raid of the mine and Eisengraf; the Jaegers guarding the place were actually Nidhogg, the same corps that was in the Nord Highlands, and this section is quite similar to the one of the watchtower, with waves of ennemies with an ambush at the end, except this time since we're on a train, the battlefield is narrower, though that doesn't change much to be honest XD, I did this without S-crafts and the ambush was tricky to go through, especially since the Jaegers can not only debuff you, but can also cast La Forte, Holy Breath and Athelas, making it a troublesome but fun fight; The chairman is here, as placid as ever, but you can understand why when you realize who was on board as well; I like how you thought that Sharon had gone to the west alongside Olivier & Co, when she and Claire made it specifically clear when they disembarked that they were returning to their duties, only Toval and the Viscount went with Oliver to western Erebonia; but anyway, that's phase 1 done - Phase 3 : the raid of the Reinford building; it's a dungeon much like the Twin dragons bridge; Before I talk about the boss, much like in the last game, Angelica truly shine in these moments, she may be a pervert and a degenerate, but she's quite serious about her responsibilities as a member of the Rogner family, and it clearly shows here when she call out her uncle on his despicability, who doesn't even care about pride (something even the Marquis has) as long as he has power. For the boss, I also didn't use S-crafts, and I gotta say, I didn't remember him being such a toughie, not only does his crafts have potential deathblow, he also has a move that can not only heal him, but give Insight as well, which makes him annoying to hit, add to that his adds that he can call for more, who can heal him or themselves, gives mute and confusion, as well as buffing Strength and Speed and Casting Crescent Mirror, these things have all the potential to ruin your formation; the way to do ? DEBUFF THE SHIT OUT OF HIM!!!!! He's not vulnerable to any ailments, instead, he's extremely weak to stat down, so you need to take advantage of that and debuff him whenever you can using crafts and quartz while buffing yourself, because if not, his attacks will create a big gash on your HP bar, and you need to clear his add as quickly as possible before they do anything dangerous (of course, with an S-craft, it's easier, but without, Bursts and All-screen arts are good options too), it tooked me several attempts and I didn't expected to have that much of a troublement, and as a reward, we get to see the chairman beating the shit out of the director and how much of a chicken he is in her presence XD - Phase 3, the Assault on the Schwarz Drache Barrier; Rogner VS Rogner, Fie's right, this IS a family feud rather than a war, it's just with mechs, so it's much cooler and it has more stakes too; also kudos to the Marquis for actually coming to fight in person, unlike the other Nobles including his own brother who hides behind soldiers, soldats and archaisms that do their bidding, Heidel was right about one thing: the Marquis and Angelica are very much alike, especially their pride as nobles and their stubbornness; Ultimately, Angelica is the one coming out to top, and just as it's resolved, Vulcan butts in to crash the reunion with a new soldat model: the Goliath (if you talked to Jackass in Roer, he mention that the Marquis acquired a new type of soldat, this is the one), very fitting name considering the massive size of this one, he's ready to face Rean once again, and so he answer in kind; it's not as hard as the Neithardt one from earlier, but still not a pushover, he's got a plethora of attacks, including one where he crush his opponent with his bare hands, which is pretty crazy, but after the Neithardt's training, you're prepared.
- But there's no time to enjoy the victory...... Because that's exactly what V wanted all along: having one last battle and dying at the hands of a worthy opponent; when Rean left after his chat with him on the Pentagruel, he said that he was the perfect man for the job, and well......this is what he meant back then, he was lying to him when he said he'll find something to do after the war, because he intended to finally die after his life goal was achieved, he was already a dead man since Osborne slaughtered his own corp, and it's now time for him to join them and Gideon; Rean tries to talk him out of it, but in vain, and he dies in the explosion of his own machine right of front of him (which it seems wasn't ready to be deployed yet due to its massive size putting strains on the engine, which is likely why he choose it, so that it's sure to explode after a heated battle). And that's on this sad note that the incident is brought to a close, true to his word, the Marquis recognized his defeat and swore an oath to princess Alfin: that his provincial army will withdraw from the alliance and play no further part in this war, and he'll honor it, because as said, he's loyal to his majesty and the imperial family, which is quite the big deal, one of the four great houses just abandoned the war and became neutral alongside his entire province, it will have a profound impact on the war going forward, way bigger than the loss of a base, and the biggest beneficiaries of this development is of course the 3rd armored division, they were stuck in the Nord Highlands because of the Nortia Provincial Army after all, and now they have a straight shot into Heimdallr; furthermore, Irina took the reins of the Reinford company once again, and worked hard to put back everything in its place, that said, it didn't stop the Soldats from being produced, because they're being primarily produced in the west, but she plan to investigate further to bring the war to a close - And we're back on a stopover day to relax..... And I don't have the time for that, the next video is already out and I'm way too far behind😵. That's not gonna deter me however, time to go into OVERDRIVE!!!!
So now, for the world-building bits -let's start light with Celdic, a lot of people aren't sure of what to do now that they aren't under the provincial army, that never happened before,;but as we saw from our last time there, it can only be an improvement now that they're gone and that the imperial army is here, and a few of them realize that already, especially the merchant who were frequent victims of their bullying, and by how quickly they fled and abandoned them when they realized they couldn't hold the line here; that doesn't mean everything's resolved though, now they have been removed from the alliance's rule, business will be all the more harder since they can't use the train since the nearest stations, Bareahard and Trista/Heimdallr, are still under the control of the alliance, but that's something for the market manager and the other merchants, not for us; Meanwhile, Becky finally got her head back in the game and is willing to join us on the Courageous, her role on it ? She opened a trade ship, much like the one that was in Trista in the last, so it's from her that you can trade equipments and buy things that you missed (which you put to use immediately after it seems XD); the same can't be said about Rosine though, she doesn't join us yet as she's currently learning medecine at the Church, only when she made significant progress will she join. Now for the bonding events: - Millium learn the joy of Sunday school........ Until she wants to help and substitute the sister XD, and she's doing pretty well at it, and it's apparently thanks to the time she spent at Thors with Class VII, she misses it just like the others; and to answer your question, the quest with Estelle as a teacher was in SC, there was also one with Lloyd in Zero that you missed since it was a quest in the intermission of the game, and Rean did the same thing with the Nomads back in Chapter 3 of the first game. - Alfin wants to inspect the grand market, and they caught a glimpse of what people think of the imperial family; while the action she made at the twin dragons bridge count for something, the lack of news from the other members reflects poorly on them, by either being powerless or that they don't care about the war, which is why Alfin's is important as a public figure...... And they make a getaway by doing a brother-sister bit....... Goddammit XD. - Obviously, Jusis feel a little awkward to be here considering his father's actions and iron grip on the town until now, which is why Rean drags him to the market, and after a hilarious bit where Jusis doesn't know how to eat an apple (ah, the problems of the rich XD), the merchants (or specifically Becky's dad here) reassure him that they don't have any grudges against either him or Rufus just because they're the sons of Duke Albarea, which was a big concern for him and Rean encourage him to stand proud and be himself instead of worry so much about blood ties. - Towa is once again tries to take more than she can handle for the suplies, but more importantly, SHE HAS A GUN NOW, a ZCF gun to be more precise, that Olivier gave to her before he departed, she was concerned about her lack of strength, she doesn't want to become a burden to everyone else so she wants to be able to protect herself, plus, it was to her that the Viscount decided to lend the command of the ship to, that's some big shoes to fill, and she wants to fill it as best as she can, so she's working hard, even for combat practice........ That's cute
- On the Courageous, Fie notices how Vivi is quite good at the role of observer, probably because she's basically nosy, so it suits her well XD; Jusis was glad to see that many soldier of the provincial had guilt for using an hostage like that, especially considering how they think of themselves as noble and proud, Millium reassure him and he hope that his father won't do anything more foolish, but he's quite pessimistic about that (and he was right based on what happen in the next episode); Alfin and Celine have grown close together... Even if Celine objects to that XD; since Thomas has joined the ship, he will now take command of the reference room of the ship and roped Emma into helping him putting all of his research there, poor Emma, she'll be here for a really long time, especially since he's quite excited about all the things of interests like Valimar of course, but also witches and a talking cat, so no rest for either her or Celine XD; and Mint is helping George with the Engine maintenance, which give the latter a heart attack because Mint is walking disaster, one false move and we're all dead, this combination is not healthy for our nerves😥; Clara, much like George in the last game, note that Valimar is exceptionally well crafted, especially with all the ornaments, who made him ? And the latter is commenting on the power of humans, which puzzle Rean. Edit: OH, and also, Sara and Gaius talks about gathering Infos for the 3rd armored division by observing what's going on from the inside, which is your hint for the bonus AP to go to the Barrier. - Now, for the students to recruit: You have Munk, who's finally inclined to join us.... But first, he lost his sticker..... Once again XD, it already happened in the last and it happens now too, also, giving your sticker wouldn't have worked, because as you saw, he memorized the serial number, but most importantly, it's a golden sticker, it's not the same variety as the green one we got last time, so we would call bullshit immedialy, where did it go ? Well it got mixed up with the goods transported during the relocation of the base, a soldier found it and gave it to the Lieutenant General, happy end for Munk, his role on the Courageous well, he's quite unique, he can make is apply to prize contests on the radio, basically.... It's a lottery, you have a high-chance one where you can get basic rewards in equal chances, and a low-chance one where the prizes are more valuable, but are also more difficult to win, each one has a different price and you need to do 5 battles in order to get the result after you apply (and the tutorial make it clear that the training on the Courageous don't count), it's quite the unique feature but it get rarely used because of the luck aspect of it, it's still fun though; now for Paula, she escaped with the horses of the academy after Lambert asked her to do so and only arrived in Celdic not that long ago, Jusis has additional dialogue if you bring Jil right off the bat since he's in the same club as her, but you're gonna need him anyway because we need to track down Lambert's stallion Whitcomb, who ran off into the park, her role on the Courageous ? Well in addition of taking care of the horses, recruiting her allow us to use horse now everywhere, a bit weird after they gave us the bike earlier but I won't say no to a new mean of transportation; next, Alan and Loggins, both memberd of the Fencing club, they escaped from the Academy, while Friedel, the club captain, and Patrick decided to stay, since they're both Nobles, on the way out of Trista, Alan lost sight of Bridget and he wants to go back to Trista to search for her, so they're currently looking for alternative routes to Trista, spoilers: there are none, the checkpoint is well guarded and they're patrolling both on the land and in the air, it's airtight, which shouldn't be a surprise considering it's not the Capital's eastern line of defense now that the Twin dragons bridge has fallen, what are their roles on the Courageous ? Well, Loggins has opened the close combat training, so you can train over there now as well, and Alan has taken the role of the helmsman, yep, he's going to pilot the ship, but don't worry, he's a hard-working man, he'll get the job done; and finally, Fidelio and Dorothee, despite being himself a noble, the former doesn't accept the alliance's overbearing methods and decided to resist them from a neutral position by capturing the truth via his camera, Rex said the same thing when we saw him last time, so they're on the same wavelength, which is quite impressive when you consider that they were always at odds back in the last game due to Rex's preferred photographing material, Dorothee is nearby too, just like Paula, you get additional dialogue with Emma since they were in the same club, but you're going to need her anyway to track her down, and she was late because the sheeps stole her precious Yaoi book XD (you ask why these sheeps are so pervy, just like I said last time, the hot spring incident in Ymir was not their first offence, but more importantly, they're called CREEPY sheeps..... I think that answers your question by itself 😆), their roles on the Courageous ? Well, Dorothee took over the reference room as well and starts to pit in her prized collections, which gives Emma even more work XD, additionally, she also serves as a bookstore, you can get all the issue of the imperial chronicle yo missed here, in addition to some recipe books as well, and Fidelio is in the communication room, putting a record of the things he saw during this war, and he sell photo-developing solutions as well, which is basically weird liquids you can get by failing to cook a drink recipe, not that useful honestly 😅. -And finally, let's talk about Roer, the situation with the war, and especially the new chairman, left the company in shambles, half of the factories are closed down and the rest are helping make weapons including Soldat parts, the 4th development division has their projects halted and we're tasked to equip with ARCUS the provincial army, and they all receive order now from the 5th division, the one responsible for the creation of the Soldats, the one that was only rumored to exist until the start of the civil war, so they're not too kindly on taking order from people they know nothing about, morale is at an all-time low because of that, especially since the provincial army patrols around the city using their armored cars, remember how that was brought up in the last game that it was crude to waltz in military vehicles in the city, now they don't give a shit anymore, they do it because it's much easier that way; people are complaining about their jobs, some even about having no job left, and a few starts to think the days of this city are numbered, that just like steel, it started to rust; fortunately, not all is lost because Angelica has many supporters, the cafe owners we see in the story of course, but many people also roots for her, when you have her in the party, you can distinguish which guards knows and is a suporter of hers because their reaction is different from the rest, her groupies are also in the know and gives fake Infos to the guards looking for her (they told one of them that she was seen around the institute, and you can actually see that guard there searching for her fruitlessly XD; and we end on another note, Jackass mention that the institute's president has returned: G. Schmidt, this Is not the first time we heard his name since Gywn already mentionned him back in Act 1, but it's mentionned again here specifically because he become important in the next episode. - Speaking of which, I should probably tackle this one as soon as possible, but for now, sleep......... 😴💤💤
1:00 WIND!!!! 7:50 i suddenly have alba/weissman flashback for some reason 13:55 karaoke stream incoming guys 24:22 the angie disguise probably a throw back or reference to FC when julia disguise as a sister 26:14 suddenly kai no kiseki everyone hahahaha also don't forget that tita also got satellite beam canon 29:15 the grendel have been real quiet since millium got her new S-craft huh....... 33:00 oof kinda dissapointed it did not goes zoom and play the music. was expecting it 40:39 weissman: "tell me this secret way." thanks for the episode weapon. always great joke
There are so many moments in this playthrough that are making me laugh because you make a certain joke and I'm here like "well....." (not pointing any of them out to avoid spoiling you but if you know you know)
I always felt that Rean's reaction was kinda overblown here. Vulcan, for whatever reasons he had, caused harm to befall upon his classmates. And it was he who chose to go out on his own terms, not him who dealt the killing blow.
33:00 Missed opportunity for a barrier joke Can't wait for the rest of the game. Right now, I can't tell exactly where you are, but it feels like you're at like 30% or 40% of the game. I might be wrong tho.
@@silverknight876 But it's just the name Lisa. With an A in front. It's not that hard. And Alyssa is not even a real name where I live. Even the English dub gets it right and yet every person on the internet butchers the name for no reason. Am I too Prussian to understand people butchering names? I just don't get how you can butcher such an easy name. Some guy under this video even confused her with the queen of Liberl. How is not butchering the simplest name in existence so hard for these people? I just don't get it.
Ok, time for some funny German lessons. Sachsen is a German state and in English is called Saxony I think. I only noticed that during this video actually. Schwarz Drache just means Black Dragon so it is actually the Black Dragon Barrier. Thomas actually has a special sidequest in New game+ mode but unless you want to rush through the game a second time just watch the special quest scenes on TH-cam. You will have to play the entire game again for that quest. Cold Steel 3 expects you to have played it. Just watch it on TH-cam Weapons. It is not worth it. Eisengraf means Iron Count but I think that ttrain was also in Cold Steel 1. Maybe. Ozzy was sitting in it. And poor Anton. I hope he finds Ricky again. And yeah, Vulcan just used Rean to kill himself. The problem with this is Reans personality and that he is totally blaming himself over it and thinks it is entirely his fault. Poor Rean. The creepy sheep quest I totally failed to catch the damn sheep and I only caught one of them but I never caught both. I don't know how snowboarding works Weapons! I am always too slow and don't know how to get any faster. Thank Aidios, I am not a completionist. And yes, Elliots new healing craft is super clutch. Also Divine Knight battles, the best tactic is to just spam morning moon. Alisa can give you CP regen if you need it. But yeah, maybe I should have switched out my characters during these batte sometimes. I stuck to Alisa the entire time she was available. But I was also not playing on nightmare. Keep enjoying the game man and make you watch that new game+ scene at the end. It is very important. And you will be so glad you played in order later. I swear it makes sense when you get there. I wodner what came after Roer but I guess I'll see it when we get there. I kinda forgot a little. Enjoy.
29:45
Not gonna lie, that was actually incredibly intuitive lol. Elliot stays clutch
It's so stupid, but I still chuckle at the damn barrier joke.
I immediately knew that nun was Angie, my Sky senses were tingling, especially after the intermission chapter just straight up reuses the idea from SC.
5:50 "I can be a main character too"
There's a strong fanon theory that Towa IS a protagonist (of a past game that was never made or published).
That's pretty funny!)
48:40 The best of Angelica!
@giuseppeparry1365 yeah I saw. It was all over Twitter.
I love how weapons gave gauis more personality than all four cold steel games ever could 😂
I love the music that plays when Thomas reveals himself. It's the theme that played when Crow and Millium joined Class VII in the first game.
Good old, Angie. You gotta love her! ;)
Alicia: "you never took ME out on your bike, what gives?!"
Rean: "the risk of you getting thrown off **whispers** by me... **ahem** was too great..."
Alicia: **GLARE**
Queen Alicia is not in Cold Steel though man. She is in Liberl.
Ah I'll Make a Mech Out of You. Probably one if the hardest sidequest.
The start of BS "Imma spam Craft over and over on you" enemy mechs 💀
Remember back on the Pantagruel. Vulcan mentioned how he felt Rean was perfect for the job. This is what he meant.
For the record, in Sky SC (or FC, can't remember), there was the exact same hotsprings peeping-tom sidequest. And sheeps were the culprit in that one.
Quite a bold plan sir, but it works nonetheless XD
- After a brief scuffle with the guards at the entrance that ended a little too well with one of the guard letting us through, the infiltration in Roer is successful, niw to gather infos: I thought I would talk about them in the comment, but nope, they're mandatory, so I'm doing it here: They are some familiar faces in the city: namely Linde, Hugo and Instructor Mary, Vivi and Becky will be happy to hear that they're okay (and Gaius and Instructor Sara will have additional dialogue with them since they were in the same club and instructors respectively); Linde's currently staying at the general good store where she's helping out, and Mary is staying at Mint's place (where her mother thinks that she's Makarov's fiancee and wants to judge if she's good enough for her brother XD); Hugo actually managed to come back to Heimdallr to help his family's company, Heimdallr is probably the safest place to be, but it's not all sunshine because information control over there is really tight, you can't approach the palace, and no one knows where the imperial family is, he came to Roer to make business with the RF store; at the church, we have a suspiciously new sister (who, unlike Thomas, is quite recongizable even when she's putting a voice); but most of all at the RF building, meet Heidel Rogner, Angelica's uncle and director of the 1st factory, the one responsible for steel processing and the same who was accused of steel embezzlement in the last game (now we know where all that steel went to: the soldats), he has taken over Irina's role as active Chairman and he even use the penthouse as his proterty, which is quite a dick move since he's a noble, and a Rogner at that, he doesn't need to do that and yet he does because he can and he wants to feel superior, which understandably infuriate Alisa since he invades on their personal lives and property, as for comment, I'm surprised you didn't brought it up in the last game, but I don't think it's that strange for the house of a rich person to be inside the corporate building they're owning, especially if the building is big; another factor could also be that, until Orchis Tower was built, it was the tallest building on the continent, so what better way to show your power than to live at the top of the tallest building ?
- Phase 1: the raid of the mine and Eisengraf; the Jaegers guarding the place were actually Nidhogg, the same corps that was in the Nord Highlands, and this section is quite similar to the one of the watchtower, with waves of ennemies with an ambush at the end, except this time since we're on a train, the battlefield is narrower, though that doesn't change much to be honest XD, I did this without S-crafts and the ambush was tricky to go through, especially since the Jaegers can not only debuff you, but can also cast La Forte, Holy Breath and Athelas, making it a troublesome but fun fight; The chairman is here, as placid as ever, but you can understand why when you realize who was on board as well; I like how you thought that Sharon had gone to the west alongside Olivier & Co, when she and Claire made it specifically clear when they disembarked that they were returning to their duties, only Toval and the Viscount went with Oliver to western Erebonia; but anyway, that's phase 1 done
- Phase 3 : the raid of the Reinford building; it's a dungeon much like the Twin dragons bridge; Before I talk about the boss, much like in the last game, Angelica truly shine in these moments, she may be a pervert and a degenerate, but she's quite serious about her responsibilities as a member of the Rogner family, and it clearly shows here when she call out her uncle on his despicability, who doesn't even care about pride (something even the Marquis has) as long as he has power. He's not vulnerable to any ailments, instead, he's extremely weak to stat down, so you need to take advantage of that and debuff him whenever you can using crafts and quartz while buffing yourself, because if not, his attacks will create a big gash on your HP bar, and you need to clear his add as quickly as possible before they do anything dangerous (of course, with an S-craft, it's easier, but without, Bursts and All-screen arts are good options too), it tooked me several attempts and I didn't expected to have that much of a troublement, and as a reward, we get to see the chairman beating the shit out of the director and how much of a chicken he is in her presence XD
- Phase 3, the Assault on the Schwarz Drache Barrier; Rogner VS Rogner, Fie's right, this IS a family feud rather than a war, it's just with mechs, so it's much cooler and it has more stakes too; also kudos to the Marquis for actually coming to fight in person, unlike the other Nobles including his own brother who hides behind soldiers, soldats and archaisms that do their bidding, Heidel was right about one thing: the Marquis and Angelica are very much alike, especially their pride as nobles and their stubbornness; Ultimately, Angelica is the one coming out to top, and just as it's resolved, Vulcan butts in to crash the reunion with a new soldat model: the Goliath (if you talked to Jackass in Roer, he mention that the Marquis acquired a new type of soldat, this is the one), very fitting name considering the massive size of this one, he's ready to face Rean once again, and so he answer in kind; it's not as hard as the Neithardt one from earlier, but still not a pushover, he's got a plethora of attacks, including one where he crush his opponent with his bare hands, which is pretty crazy, but after the Neithardt's training, you're prepared.
And that's on this sad note that the incident is brought to a close, true to his word, the Marquis recognized his defeat and swore an oath to princess Alfin: that his provincial army will withdraw from the alliance and play no further part in this war, and he'll honor it, because as said, he's loyal to his majesty and the imperial family, which is quite the big deal, one of the four great houses just abandoned the war and became neutral alongside his entire province, it will have a profound impact on the war going forward, way bigger than the loss of a base, and the biggest beneficiaries of this development is of course the 3rd armored division, they were stuck in the Nord Highlands because of the Nortia Provincial Army after all, and now they have a straight shot into Heimdallr; furthermore, Irina took the reins of the Reinford company once again, and worked hard to put back everything in its place, that said, it didn't stop the Soldats from being produced, because they're being primarily produced in the west, but she plan to investigate further to bring the war to a close
- And we're back on a stopover day to relax..... And I don't have the time for that, the next video is already out and I'm way too far behind😵. That's not gonna deter me however, time to go into OVERDRIVE!!!!
So now, for the world-building bits
-let's start light with Celdic, a lot of people aren't sure of what to do now that they aren't under the provincial army, that never happened before,;but as we saw from our last time there, it can only be an improvement now that they're gone and that the imperial army is here, and a few of them realize that already, especially the merchant who were frequent victims of their bullying, and by how quickly they fled and abandoned them when they realized they couldn't hold the line here; that doesn't mean everything's resolved though, now they have been removed from the alliance's rule, business will be all the more harder since they can't use the train since the nearest stations, Bareahard and Trista/Heimdallr, are still under the control of the alliance, but that's something for the market manager and the other merchants, not for us; Meanwhile, Becky finally got her head back in the game and is willing to join us on the Courageous, her role on it ? She opened a trade ship, much like the one that was in Trista in the last, so it's from her that you can trade equipments and buy things that you missed (which you put to use immediately after it seems XD); the same can't be said about Rosine though, she doesn't join us yet as she's currently learning medecine at the Church, only when she made significant progress will she join.
Now for the bonding events:
- Millium learn the joy of Sunday school........
7:50 i suddenly have alba/weissman flashback for some reason
13:55 karaoke stream incoming guys
24:22 the angie disguise probably a throw back or reference to FC when julia disguise as a sister
26:14 suddenly kai no kiseki everyone hahahaha also don't forget that tita also got satellite beam canon
29:15 the grendel have been real quiet since millium got her new S-craft huh.......
33:00 oof kinda dissapointed it did not goes zoom and play the music. was expecting it
40:39 weissman: "tell me this secret way."
thanks for the episode weapon. always great joke
There are so many moments in this playthrough that are making me laugh because you make a certain joke and I'm here like "well....." (not pointing any of them out to avoid spoiling you but if you know you know)
46:40 this made me laugh out loud
Been a bit, glad to see you back with all the snarky glory again :D
Bit of a dick move by Vulcan tricking Rean into murdering him.
Eh. Not really murder since it is one on one combat. Rean has to accept the fact that as a soldier and warrior he will have to end a life.
24:37 she learned a thing or two from captain Julia Schwarz for sure
she got a girl fanclub and disguised herself as a sister of the church, she definitely got lessons from Julia
coldsteel with... barrier!?😂 41:30
This video was sponsored by Reinford company
I always felt that Rean's reaction was kinda overblown here. Vulcan, for whatever reasons he had, caused harm to befall upon his classmates. And it was he who chose to go out on his own terms, not him who dealt the killing blow.
33:00 Missed opportunity for a barrier joke
Can't wait for the rest of the game. Right now, I can't tell exactly where you are, but it feels like you're at like 30% or 40% of the game. I might be wrong tho.
It seems you forgot the super sheep fusion sidequest from SC. Also you missed another barrier at 32:56
To to "spoil" things too much, but once you hear the whole story it's hard to feel too sorry for Vulcan.
Spoilers for WeaponsCI:
2:25 It’s funny how he basically predicted that.
Anton the grandmaster 😉
Dont be ridiculous, its obviously Dorathee.
Oops, not dorathee, dorathie
@@Ghalion666 shhhh spoilers 😉
@@Ghalion666 Their names are Dorothee and Dorothy. No a anywhere. But I also realized nobody is able to spell Alisa. Why?
@@Nikita_AkashyaBecause most people are used to “Uh-Liss-uh”(Alyssa) instead of the hard E sound in her name most likely
Enjoy.
Elliot even on easy mode is still PURE CRAP here Rean Millium can easily 1 shot everything with their s crafts by now on EASY mode at lv 90+ here.
