Actually Felyne Heroics gives you 35%, cat horn gives you 15% and I believe the hard cap is at 60%. The rest of the damage comes from frost craft, which can break the hard cap.
@@konigvonallen1387 It does, but when things stack up, you would easily hit the 60% hard cap; If you have evasion mantle + felyne heroics on, it doesn't matter if you have the cat attack up or not since you will be hitting the hard cap regardless. Cat buff is only there for the times where you don't have evasion mantle.
After spending a lot of time in Sunbreak I was thinking about returning to World and play a little SnS there. I thought, well maybe look at a speedrun against a strong monster, cause I always found them to be motivating, found this video clicked on it, saw the fight starting with the Glutch Claw (of course) and then decided: nah I don't want to go back to World. Still great run, very well done.
That's the perfect rush combo. The way to do that is the same as the back hop combo, except you press the light attack after you're in the back hop. If you don't know how to perform the back hop, you can go to the training area. The easiest way to perform is to with your weapon drawn, roll and press heavy attack to initiate the back hop. However, the most common way is to press guard -> directional backward -> heavy attack (this 3 moves has to be done almost simultaneously). This is a pretty hard combo to master, so don't feel discouraged when you can't do it in the beginning.
That's the fun part about SnS. The back hop is very difficult to initiate from a stand still. It takes a lot of practice to successfully do it without doing guard slash (the move you described). My only advice here is to make sure you do guard -> back direction input -> heavy attack in order I was in your same shoes when I first started learning SnS. There's really no short cut besides doing the movement over and over again. Sometimes I still use guard slash by accident.

About the backstep, How are you always activating? Im trynna practice but idk how it sometimes it use shield and attack backward normal slash
