    Thank you for taking the time to do this fantastic video! I'm converting my 24D Snoway from a 1999 Ford Ranger to fit a 2015 F-150 at some point and now have more information to see how this part is done. May you have many safe and profitable plow runs ahead of you!

    Starting this install today and this video will be a big help, I’ve had this plow since 2013 and have had it on a 1/2 ton ram and two 2500 rams. For the the 2500’s I had to widen the center section so I will need to cut and reweld it back to the original width and I did buy the snow way intercooler mount. I also bought the Ford weldments used and they didn’t come with the hardware so I will need to make the handle bolts as well, should be fun!

      Good luck today man. That sucks the weldments didn't include the hardware, but mine didn't either. In my TH-cam profile you should be able to see my email if you need to ping me for any reason. Just let me know.

      @@MidknightMechanics thanks, install went good and didn’t end up having to make the handle bolts as I was able to just reach back in the frame rail.. all I have left to do is pull the remote wire into the cab. Also found out I have a leaking oil pan gasket too but Ford gets to fix that!

    Please do another post to see what it looks like when your done. Interested to see if you got the plastic valance to attach on the bottom

      My thumbnail photo on the video, that is what the final looked like. Unfortunately it was impossible to reattach the bottom plastic valance. You'd have to remove the crossmember to have the valance installed.

    what is your front GAWR? mine is 3350 and the snow way dealer is leery about installing one on my truck because on the snow way web site my crew cab configuration doesnt have my GAWR. I have to choose the single cab configuration. so im wondering if my front axel can handle it.

      I have the same question. I was told there are NO plows that are allowed on these 3.5L ecoboosts but I see more and more people doing it. Would love to see an update especially how it actually works once fully installed.

    Great video and I’m about to tackle the same job. Question: why wouldn’t you just notch the push plate bracket a bit vs the intercooler cross member to get that clearance? Seems like this would be much easier.

    Thanks for video. I'm about to install on my 18 f150 diesel. Snoway or ford approves it for the 3.0....🤔🤷‍♂️. I wonder if that other hole you mentioned is for the 3.0 intercooler bracket. We gonna find out!

    • @pooleo8
      @pooleo8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update on the 3.0 diesel. The mount I sourced came off a 3.5 eco truck. It had the snoway intercooler bracket. It bolted up perfect. The locations of the intercooler pins are infact in the same location as the 3.5.
      So it was a pretty straight forward install. Still need to pull intercooler and mount the thru bolts in the frame. I current only have the 3 bolts underneath.

    Likewise no other info, I did my install and removal on my 2019 f150 2.7ec. I am preparing to do on my 2021 now and may create a video or key pictures of the install.
    I do not need the light harness and my 2021 has adaptive headlights so that further complicates things.
    You will be cutting the horizontal plastic bumper piece, after that though you will be able to cut and install the vertical air deflector nicely up to the sides of the mount.

      How long did you plow with your 2.7? Did you have any issues? I'm nervous to put a plow on a 2.7 as it's advised not to but I think it will be just fine.

      I only plowed my own business property which took 45min to 1hr for a big storm. This would only be a few times a season in Toronto. I flip the leases so I only had time one year each. Loved it until I got my lightning - which I can’t plow with.

      I was in the same boat Ryan. I (OCD) care too much about my truck but wanted to give it a try, knowing I could just sell the entire setup if I thought it was too much stress. So far so good. You can definitely feel the weight hanging off the front end, but surprisingly it doesn't bottom out the suspension, and doesn't hang really low like I expected. Also it plows very well, super fast movements of the blade, but you can tell it's a little harder/heavier steering while you maneuver the blade. I remember being warned, you cannot pitch the blade, while lifting the blade, while steering - it takes too much power. But that's easy; I'm almost never pitching the blade while lifting or dropping it. Also, I only plow my own driveway so the wear and tear on my EPS will be minimal. They also warn not to use heavy power loads like heated seats while plowing, so I don't. So far I'm really impressed with the quality and features of the sno-way, like the wireless remote. Not having to run new wires into the cab was priceless to me. Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Midknight Mechanics could you post a video of you plowing , and did you have to do any work to the motor for the cooling of the turbos bc I know their was a video I did watch it's like 400 bucks or so , if you could post a video great .! And how much does that plow weight .?

    • @keithc40
      @keithc40 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RYAN-bw8mn according to their website, they're just under 500 lbs (471 to be exact) stock.

      @@MidknightMechanics your truck should have at least the 225 amp alternator if you have the 110v power inverter. the 5.0 has a 240 amp option that's part of the snowplow pkg iirc, so I wouldn't worry about running out of power too much. maybe don't run a coffee pot off the power outlets lol. Would love to see a follow-up vid. this looks to be a lot cheaper option than getting a quad or utv for my place with a plow.

    • @MidknightMechanics
      @MidknightMechanics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right around $4K new, but this one, I was able to score gently used for 2200 and then I bought new push plates and headlight harness for around 650 more.

    I’ll get back to that” Lol. Happens to the best of us man. Great video. Anyways this is a bad as I thought. Ford really didn’t want people plowing with the newer 1/4 tons I guess. And that sucks. I have to trade up to an f250
