It is extremely refreshing to see someone that successfull with that type of approach and a huge lesson for all of us who have focused too much on the geeky stuff instead of mixing more intuitively and practise more. Living proof you don't need to know the whole science behind all the processes to be successful, not even to be able to mix properly.
I mean, don't get me wrong, geeky stuff is cool and knowledge is always power but it can also extremely easily deviate you from the main point why you are doing it in the first place, which is MUSIC.
Immensely grateful for the motivation this gives me.
Respect to the man and to Justin!
    Cheers

I loved this interview. Jimmy is a legend and he seems so laid back and cool. A lot of great take aways from this one. One being don't overthink when mixing. Don't update your gear and plug ins every other week.

I'd be interested to know Jimmy's thoughts on how cannibis and other substances can change your perception when mixing.

I love the part about fucking up in studio and I have a little story about that ... About 12-13 years ago a Music tech show up at my PC Shop FREAKING OUT because he lost access to is Roland VS-2480 HDD so a Full Band and a Solo Artist complet album GONE BYEBYE . I was not is first stop and everybody told him to forget about getting is Data including Roland Canada. So that was a lot of money and time wasted and 2 album that needed to be rerecord and also the lost of cred and trust for the small studio .... To make a long story Short I made a new friend for life that Day and also got all the data back LOL
    Keep Up the Great Job
