      Hold On ==> Do YOU THINK Ryan Day truly wants to be a BUCKEYE ? You don't think he's here for the money ? How about Urban Meyer ? Did Day or Meyer CHOOSE OSU as college players ? Was OSU their first COACHING gig ? Or did they only come to Ohio State => after being offered millions of dollars ? You get that it's a business verses the KOOL-AID BS the media feeds you, right ?
      GUESS NOT ! BAH-HA-HA !! ROTFLMAO at you !!!
      PS Sorry if you happen to be 12 years old or younger => i'm sure Santa will make it all up to you in a few weeks and all will be fine again ! GO BUCKS !!!

    The second he enrolled early I told my Dad he would never stay at OSU. No way a kid with his pedigree was going to sit for two years. While it sucks that we won’t get to see what a QB of his caliber can do in Ryan Day’s offense, I know that OSU will be just fine and Stroud deserves his spot. OSU still has potentially the best QB room in America without Ewers (which is insane). Go Bucks!

    A teenager in his situation has the right to make this decision. This is a teenager doing what teenagers do, make a bad decision. Where in the country is there 1) A Ryan Day pass friendly offense. 2) The WRs that the QB at Ohio State gets to pass to. There isn't anywhere else. Haskins and Fields became 1st round draft picks. CJ is on track if he has a season next season which includes a Big Ten Championship and CFP berth he is a lock to be a 1st round draft pick himself. Kyle McCord will barring an injury be the starter or be competing for QB1 at Ohio State in this offense after CJ leaves. If you are not ready to compete Ohio State is not for you.

    You aren't guaranteed a starting job at Ohio State no matter how highly rated you are coming out of high school. They're going to play whoever they think has the best chance to win games THAT SEASON. You don't start just for having the highest ceiling and that's what this has turned into with the instant noodles gimme everything I want it now transfer rule. It was the correct decision to start Dwayne Haskins over Joe Burrow in 2018 and it would also likely be correct to start Stroud over Ewers in 2022.
    Ewers can go on to eventually win 2 playoffs at USC or LSU or wherever in 2023/2024, and it would still be the correct decision. The alternative is to throw away your honor and pander to these highly rated entitled players not because they deserve to play right now, but because they have a theoretically higher ceiling. This sport gets more annoying to follow every year that goes by. Consequently, the media enjoys it more every year that goes by.

    Obviously this is the first year that NIL is in affect, so there’s plenty of things that need worked out, but I fear that this won’t be the last time this situation will occur. When you’re a 17-18 year old kid coming out of HS, how could you not be attracted to going to a place that’ll get you literal millions of $$$ and you don’t even have to play? I can’t “hate the player” in this situation, I’m just starting to “hate the game”. Idk what the right fix is, but there needs to be some type of stipulation that you can’t sign an NIL deal until you’re already a contributing player or something. Now with the transfer portal aspect, what’s going to stop a kid from moving all over the country, signing NIL deals, making millions while hardly playing? I won’t be surprise if there’s some amendments added to the NIL stuff in the near future.

    The last thing I was right about was the size of Ohio State compared to Michigan or a Alabama, it's not even close, fire the weight rook coach and Day ASAP!

    Ryan Day has coached a Heisman nominated QB for 4 straight seasons, and the trend is likely to continue. Learn from the bench, earn your reps and the long term gain could be a $100M NFL contract rather than a short term NIL deal. But, if selling Kombucha is more important, I'll wish him the best somewhere else.

    Seems like he only came to Ohio State to get a quick and easy couple mil, then bail. Not that I can blame him for that, but I don’t think he ever had any intention of staying at Ohio state. Just wanted that money.

    I agree Ryan day is a great offensive Coach,good Great with the quarterbacks, but he needs to keep his hands off the defense and let somebody else that is qualified to run that defense

    NIL needs to be worked differently. You shouldn't be paying an athlete if they aren't even on the field. Even alabama don't play people until junior/senior year. It will just hurt the big schools if the contracts require them to start immediately

    This doesn’t matter until 2023 if it ever matters at all. Ewers was not beating out CJ in 2022. He’s also seen McCord everyday in practice. McCord is a DUDE. And Devin Brown committing didn’t help. He’s aware of that guy as well. They’ve both traveled the HS 7on7 circuit. He knows the best chance of him not only playing in ‘22, but in ‘23 is better elsewhere. There was no guarantee he’d beat out McCord or Brown.

  • @jfreedman2009
    @jfreedman2009 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I kind of assumed this was what was going to happen when he came early. He bailed on high school for money and now he's bailing on Ohio State for playing time. He simply used OSU because we agreed to take him early. Maybe he was hoping that Stroud would be a bum and burn out and give him the opportunity to steal the job. But obviously that didn't happen and now he's moving on to greener pastures.
