    I live in Bend… for 40 years. And I’m 40. I’m happy you went to Wild Rose. Best restaurant in Bend. Also that float you did.. my buddies and I started that… used to be fun but it’s chaos now.

    Hey!! YOU FOUND MY STATE OF OREGON!! Having grown up here, I guess we sort of take it for granted after a while,, but I still remember my first float down the rapids the Summer my family camped there with daily river floats and campfire goodies, I was 7 years old... it somehow etched such a positive feeling that when my kids were growing up we made many long weekend trips staying in Sisters, Redmond, and Bend... doing all the great activities... Mt Bachelor SNOW!! also Snow camping near the Pacific Crest trail. Suttle Lake camping and fishing such fun!! YES you really have NO idea how deep into the activities you can get. My cousin has a Bed & Breakfast so besides camping many different options for spending a weekend or a Week! Looking forward to your next adventures!

    ❤. Hello!! This is Lana.I sent a message almost a year ago. You and Dennis inspired me to visit the oregon coast. Well we are here in our new rv!! We are now in bend. I literally took all your advice and we visited all the places you did. Ate at sparrow bakery!! Awesome. Walked the Deschutes river walk. Plan on tubing since we'll be here three weeks before hitting the oregon coast ! I've watched your bend video countless times. Saw where you stay originally. Scadia rv park. Loving it here!! Thanks to you. This my 45th wedding anniversary. Thought about you and wanted to say thank you for helping making this even more spectacular ❤!! I hope one day we meet on the road! Your biggest fan!!😊

    I live and work in Bend. I grew up in Astoria and moved here in 2005. Best decision ever!! There’s so much to do year round! You get all four seasons and there’s tons to do within those seasons. Food carts are my favorite. And floating the Deschutes. And shopping. ♥️

    Yeah, the only thing I really miss about VHS tapes is that I can't find a Midnight Run (1988) that hasn't been re-mastered for DVD - sometimes the re-mastering really detracts from the authentic original - just kills me when they decide to cut scenes that were originally there and cut frames that were such a big part of making it truly special - we used to stop and go frame by frame of Charles Grodin's face as he feared they were going to crash driving off-road - priceless!
    Bend also looks to be priceless!

    We used to enjoy taking our kids to Blockbuster to rent movies when they were young. Be kind rewind! My husband used to work for Sound Warehouse then Blockbuster when Blockbuster bought them out before having kids. Our kids thought it was cool he worked in their IT department. We were surprised to see one still open. It is nice to see one survived. Great video.

    The trick with Smith Rock is go up the other side (relatively easy, carved out steps), Misery Ridge is for the trek down. Also be on the lookout for eagles, and their nests. Both bald eagles and the gigantic golden eagles. I love living here.

    As a person who lives in Bend and before that visiting since 1976. There is so much to do in the winter, summer and other times. 95 degrees is really hot for Bend, but that river is very cold from the snow melt from the mountains around Bend.

Us locals would love to be able to make it to work on time or enjoy our activities and sights here with out the over crowding. Videos like this is why we can't make left hand turns here at all during summer and winter months

      I think this can be said about most great cities these days. It's changes and as a local it's hard to see the change and you feel the impacts more than newcomers. All we can do is advocate for conservancy and respect for the area!

    • @mikeashe7270
      @mikeashe7270 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EatSeeRV you could also do something by not advertising the overflow of people to overcrowd the areas, make videos or promote the tourism of smaller and less known areas instead of those locals are already at their wits end at with the massively high tourism influxes that are actively putting too much strain on the city and residents because the city of 600k that's already 300k more population that the city is built for turning into nearly a million plus people during the extra high traffic

    If you have the time, head to Glenwood Spings, CO, down to Carbondale, over McClure Pass and Kebler Pass (plenty of BLM camping) to Crested Butte, back west to the north rim of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, (campground here) down the 92 to Montrose (there is a nice KOA) and then down the "Million Dollar Highway" to Durango (available sites in Ouray). The aspens will be in full golden color along this drive before you get to ABQ for the Balloon Festival. Randall.

    Great video, it was really fun to watch your enjoyment of the Bend area. I live 30 miles south in La Pine. There are in addition to all the trails around Bend, the Sunriver and La Pine area have some awesome trails and lakes as well. We certainly don't have the brewery and food options but the outdoor activities and the tiny town flavor.

    Love the vlog/content! I looked through your past vlogs and was surprised that y'all haven't done anything on Northern California/Humboldt County/Redwood National/State Park. I live in Trinidad, along the far north coast of Humboldt County. Our coastline is very similar to the Southern Oregon Coast and we have the tallest and largest areas of old growth Coast Redwoods on the planet. I think this would be a great vlog. Let me know if you need some pointers for must see places.

    Lovely video! I was born and raised in bend :)) only downside is the lack of diversity in this city :( I’m Latina and have faced a lot of racism growing up in school. Plus, with new people moving here I’m seeing my neighborhood that was once a fully Hispanic street being gentrified. Family friends that have been living in their apartments 15 + years are just starting to be kicked out to make room for white families from out of state. Sorry for ranting it’s just now that bend is becoming more popular… people should also be aware of the downsides :D I’m glad you liked the town though!!

    • @fishingjohnson
      @fishingjohnson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EatSeeRV I'm kind of with Mike. Lived in Bend since 1978. It has become an absolute circus here in the summer and winter. The tourism creates people that want to move here; and typically the people that move here drive up housing prices to the point where the people who cater to the tourists are no longer able to live here.

    • @mikeashe7270
      @mikeashe7270 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fishingjohnson exactly, and that lack extra travel has made it so many companies that once relied on tourism had to close because cost of living was too much and people had to find work close to where they had to move to as well as having a harder time finding employees for year round employment. Also causing our homeless epidemic to skyrocket. The exceedingly high tourism has lead to aggressive gentrification and is only exacerbating the problems

    This is a very sensitive subject...
    Just the two of us...
    From the moment I heard Frau
    Said I had a clone
    I knew that I'd be safe
    Cuz I'd never be alone
    An evil Dr. shoudln't speak aloud bout his feelings
    My hurt and my pain don't make me too appealing
    I'd hope Scott
    Would look up to me,
    Run the buisness of the family
    Head an evil empire,
    Just like his dear old dad
    Give him my love and the things he never had
    Scott would think
    I was a cool guy
    returned the love I have
    make me wanna cry
    Be evil, but had my feelings too
    Chaged my life with Opra and Mya Angelou
    But Scott rejected me
    C'est La Ve
    Life is cruel, treat you unfairly

      @@EatSeeRV I don't mind Bend getting filled with tourists and more people moving to it, because Redmond is close by and isn't filled with people like Bend. So you can live in Redmond and still be close to all the activities but without nearly all the people, but still enjoy the increase in home values due to the proximity of Bend (assuming you already own a home there, otherwise you are SOL). I live in Redmond, only 5 minutes away to Smith Rock park and my house sits next to the entrance of the Dry Canyon that runs through Redmond.
