As always with such comparisons, it's only about Garmin, Wahoo and Hammerhead. What exactly are you trying to do in wet / damp weather conditions? If you’re simply trying to change from one screen to the other then, why not consider the Garmin Varia remote? I’ve been using it for yrs. to change screens on my Edge 1000. It has 2 programmable “Hot Key” options as well in addition to scrolling fwd & backwards. There is a version of Di2 that has controllable option on the head of the shifter also. Hope that helps.

Good video, nicely unhyped. But it discusses GPS computers targeted at competitive riders. And I think mainly for following pre-planned routes. Using a smartphone or tablet has huge advantages where you want to be able to adapt your course to real world circumstances. Touring, or exploring new terrain for example. Especially if you might go off-road, as in away from marked roads. That is because a smartphone allows you to look at real maps on a screen of useful size. You can have many different maps, and each at whatever scale you need at the minute Yes, more sensitive to rain, hot sun, damage etc, but they are rare enough and you can protect. No, GPS receivers are not huge users of battery. The (big) screen is the culprit. A battery pack solves that one. Easy to have a backup device, just an old phone. Biggest dealbreaker with hammerhead is because it’s running android, it cannot use your phones location or data to send your location for a “track my ride” type feature. I refuse to pay for a SIM card or blow my phone battery out by turning on hotspot. I will also say battery is god awful. With a power meter and radar on the battery barely got me 4 hours under full power (not battery saver). Admittedly the radar notifications kill the battery, but I shouldn’t by at 50% less than half way through a century.
There are two things I don’t like about my Karoo 2. Battery life is terrible. Even with Bluetooth turned off, I’m lucky to get 4 hours on a charge. The little rubber charging port cover fell off on my first ride never to be seen again.
I bought a garmin edge 830 , and the touch of it is simply a nightmare, it's just a sweat or rain that it is mundane the screens non-stop. I already talked to garmin but they can't solve the problem. Total disappointment.
Labeling a video with 2022 where the first entry is an outdated model launched in 2019 that‘s since been replaced (Garmin Edge 530 instead of 520+) is something that really shouldn‘t be done. If you want to get good clicks this year, you‘ll have to update this.
Note: Beware of buying a Garmin 530 because it is a pile of junk, it restarts itself automatically. I contacted the Garmin support team, and they didn't find any solution for me.
I started with a Garmin, then I got a Wahoo, then I got another Garmin. So I do know both and brand loyalty is nothing I got ever accused of. Here is my verdict: Garmin = a piece of shit (hardware & software) with a few unique software features (VO2max, etc.) Wahoo = thought-through design (hardware & software) and well-executed. Just close those few feature gaps and it's not even a contest anymore. Btw.: I'm happy that the Barometric Sensor on my Garmin died (seems to be a common issue) so I got my money back. Bought a Wahoo again instead.

Suggest consumers subscribe to a FB Garmin group. You’ll soon discover how buggy the Garmin devices are, and have been for decades. Having owned multiple units I gave up on Garmin. Lacking credibility this channel, big advert.
I'm sorry the garmin edge 520 plus is good and all, but if you get out of the route, you're fucked pardon my french. The rerouting system is insanely slow and inefficient, it just tells you to take uturns at all times.
I agree, I also absolute hate my 830, one of the worst investments I've ever made. Maybe it's good for statistics and road bikers, but using it as a navigation system for pre-planned routes in a forest with many tight turns is an absolute nightmare (on a mtb). I needed to make use of my phone several times, because I was totally lost with this device. It's randomly changing directions, routing me in the wrong way, loosing signal, does not align correctly etc. Then it's congratulating me for my jumps and the air time.. while being on a road. And if garmin comes up with an update, there is more broken afterwards, than actually fixed. Would never buy a garmin again.
@@e_mtb have you made a switch? im looking to buy a gps for mtb and would hate to have to navigate a forest with a bad gps computer. I'm thinking wahoo elemnt bolt v2?
Was a little apprehensive when buying this with the few negative reviews on here, but this was exactly the kind of bike I was looking for. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxn_jUDSlprMIeubd9rHdEAnv59nKfjcKv I plan to ride it on paved roadways and trails, and wanted a "Grocery Getter" so to speak. After receiving it (without any damage), I had it out of the box, and fully assembled in about 30 minutes. I did not have to look at the manual, and I'm glad because I did look at it after I got it together, and it looks like it's a manual for several different styles. I did have to adjust the breaks and gear shifters, but that's been my experience with every bike I've owned. There was one review in particular that made me nervous, saying it was not meant for someone 6'4", it was too short. Well I'm 6'5" (230lbs) with a 36" inseam, and can tell you this bike fits perfectly, granted the seat is in it's highest safe position. I've only had it for 3 days so far, and if things change I will update my review, but I put 26 miles on it so far, and it rides like a dream. Very comfortable seating position. The front suspension is good for the occasional rock or bump you hit on asphalt, but this bike is not made to be taken off road, and I'm OK with that. I was particularly happy to see the wheels were trued perfectly. I was expecting to have to take them in and have them trued at a local bike shop, as I've had to do with all my past bike purchases, but in this case they were already in great shape. For the money, this is an awesome bike.
What? 520+ in 2022? You can get the much better 530 for the same price! -.-
Missing important points as are repairability and support. Can I easily replace the battery? Do they keep their models updated?

With a power meter and radar on the battery barely got me 4 hours under full power (not battery saver). Admittedly the radar notifications kill the battery, but I shouldn’t by at 50% less than half way through a century.
Just a clickbait. None of these are a new model.
Quad locked and Google maps is the way to go.
Anybody tried the navtwo cross?
Pretty bad cycling computer comparison! If they really aren't supposed to have more than four manufacturers?
No bryton computer worth a mention? Seriously? =(
There are two things I don’t like about my Karoo 2. Battery life is terrible. Even with Bluetooth turned off, I’m lucky to get 4 hours on a charge. The little rubber charging port cover fell off on my first ride never to be seen again.
Mine lasts a lot longer than that. I would contact them
I bought a garmin edge 830 , and the touch of it is simply a nightmare, it's just a sweat or rain that it is mundane the screens non-stop.
Here is my verdict:
Garmin = a piece of shit (hardware & software) with a few unique software features (VO2max, etc.)
Wahoo = thought-through design (hardware & software) and well-executed. Just close those few feature gaps and it's not even a contest anymore.
Btw.: I'm happy that the Barometric Sensor on my Garmin died (seems to be a common issue) so I got my money back. Bought a Wahoo again instead.

All of those look like tech from 2012 or something...

Garmin is the worst thing ever 🙈🤣
Who you have to be to afford shit like those computers?
Buy it on credit / instalments
