Dude... thanks so much for taking the time to do this.. my 10 has been "low batt" for years..I primarily play the td30 I got a couple years back, but there's a couple things it doesn't do that the 10 does.. my 10 has some other issues.. so I'm thinking of taking it in for repair or buying another 10 (might be same price or cheaper) .. I actually see a pretty cheap 10 w/out expansion.. If you see this.. Do you know if I can swap out the expansion board ? Pull the board out of mine and slap it into another td10? I bought my 10 with the board in it.. I saw it when you opened it up.. looks pretty easy to pop out!
You did not mention anything about backing up all your settings prior to performing this battery change. Does the TD-10 retain it's memory during this process or should people be warned to backup to a flash card first?

I just did this but it was after my internal battery had already died. I’ve been away from my drums for too long because I had to move and never backed it up. I bought my V pro back in July 2000 and it still works pretty great, but I just lost all those custom kits I had made over the years 😫😭
How much is a replacement battery for the module? I've looked and looked on the net and all it pulled up was new modules and whole new drum sets. It looks similar to a large watch battery. What exactly is the battery called and where can one be ordered?
James., Thanks for the video I have a few questions since you seem to know a bit about the TD-10. Is isn't there a way to back up the settings to Compact Flash. I just bought a TD-10 and we have been gigging with it about a year. I'm concerned about it going out when playing and am looking for a spare. The one I have was the expanded version like yours but all I can find is the non-expanded version. Not sure is you can even get an expansion card now? You may not know the answer to this maybe your readers do. Is a non expanded TD-20 as good as an expanded TD-10? Thanks for again for the video
Greg Bouten. im not really sure. I dont know if you can expand a standard one. I know if you pull the expansion card from this one it no longer functions. Also... I have never use a td 20 so im not sure there either

Write down any drum kit settings you want to keep, switching out my battery restored everything to factory settings.
