Shadows loom over Eurasia. France and England grow complacent, their military might falling apart. Italy begins to tear itself to shreds, with Mussolini’s failure in Africa leading to a widespread uprising. The Soviet Union’s internal system begins to collapse as Stalin’s death ushers in a new age of political tumult, while a newly democratized Japan rebuilds from its brutal civil war. Yet, one country grows in power. Germany, its military revitalized under the Nazi regime, begins its conquest. First, Austria, picked apart like the weakling it is. Then, Czechoslovakia falls. Poland’s invasion is counterattacked by offenses from the British and French, but it’s too late. France and the Benelux regions fall, which was expected. However, what is truly miraculous is the completion of Operation Sea Lion, a cohesive plot to destroy Britain that had been years in the making. With its western foes defeated, Germany turns to the East. The Soviets put up a truly astounding fight despite their internal difficulties. Millions upon millions of Soviets and Germans bleed each other dry, but in the end, the Soviets fall. Then comes Japan…however, the United States intervenes on the side of the fledgeling democracy. Japan’s forces are routed in Asia and a struggle for the islands begin. However, as the campaign begins to turn into a stalemate… The Fuhrer sits in front of a single panel. The key is turned; a large, red button is flashing in front of him. His field marshals look over his shoulder with bated breath. He pushes it. New York City. Washington. Boston. Los Angeles. Austin. Tokyo. Kyoto. Nagasaki. Hiroshima. All of these and more are annihilated in minutes, the JÖRMUNGANDR-type ICBMs rocketing through the atmosphere towards their targets. The USA’s federal government collapses as Japan is easily mopped up. And, as the fallout settles, the Twilight of the Gods ends with one victor. The German eagle flies victorious. This time, it may be forever.
Although it’s not supposed to be realistic, the Nazi’s wouldn’t have made nukes, labeling them as “Jewish technology” And the Soviet’s wouldn’t have fallen before 1945, giving america the time to nuke Germany, and it’s a toss up on whether or not they can produce more that time, seeing as Germany is still holding strong by that time. They had even planned to drop a third on Tokyo.
@@NormalPerson-idk Yeah, the Nazis would never win to this degree; this is mainly supposed to reflect a partial world conquest in HOI4 from the perspective of its inhabitants.
I can't put into words how much of a banger this really is, especially the stringwork at 1:43 and onwards. Probably the best HOI4 track there is.
Love how you can repeatedly hear brief excerpts of the original Axis theme.
Thanks, well spotted! :)
@@audinity i just want to say that it is best track in the whole dlc and definitely one of the best in the game. Love it
