Struggled with this game. It was taking me 2/3 attempts to complete a speed run and in the end I just give up. It wasn’t enjoyable at all, it was a chore. Respect to Maka though for the work and vid.
I understand, I hate when games have speed run achievements. I just feel like encouraging speed runs takes away from the game. You can't enjoy a game and appreciate it for what it is if you speed through it.
Same here. Controls feel a bit clunky for me, especially when you have to grab stuff and align it to something. Total chore. Gave up after several tries.

I thought I'd never make it through that door before it close on the Exchange but finally made it after about 10 tries. Thanks for putting this together.
At the end of The Spiral, you can place the buildings in a way that doesn't require a long jump like that. The towers on each piece actually fit together when placed correctly and you just walk across.
Thanks for the guide and very good commenting during the walkthrough. Played it through once now, with several retries of some of the easier speedruns. 19/22 achievements done. The last 3 I need to work on a little more before they are done.
On “The Wedge” if you run straight to the church you can brute force up into the little broken part and get inside. Once inside trigger all the cutscenes and then jump back outside. Get the stair case and enlarge it enough to reach the bell and you skip everything else in the chapter.
Thanks to your tip on skipping the sunflower cutscene I was able to make it on my first try after that. Tried it about 5 times before that and couldn't make it. Thank you.
Thank you I tried like 6 times and nothing! For those who have the same problem. As soon the screen says: "Press any botton to resume Press and hold the B, then the intro Hello Sunflower wont show up the song wont start until you start walking... Another tip: the "Guitar Solo" should ends when you are closing to grab the final key so the song is a guide of how close you are to get the achievement, If the "San Francisco" song ends before you pick the key or you put yourself infront of the door just restat and do it again :)
The one I struggled with the most was probably that stupid piller alignment on "The Spiral" Thankfully I did eventually complete it and the game with 1,000Gs. 🙌❤
Man of culture I see. I do same. I play a game and if I enjoyed it I'll 1000g it. I know people just want the gs, but that's like putting yourself through something you don't enjoy.
You don't actually need to fiddle with the key for Breakout. In each corner of the main courtyard there's an elevator, with switches at the bottom that can be accessed on the model to lower the elevator. Then you can just walk out, and take the elevator back up instead of having to reload.
Iv completed the first level several times and still no achievement popped for the speed run. My last run was flawless. I’m playing on gamepass so does it have to be installed or can it be done by the cloud?
Thanks for another awesome guide Maka! I used this for my PS5 trophy run and decided I'd figure out the levels myself and watch the full story, which was beautiful in my opinion, then used your guide for spredruns and miscellaneous trophies and that worked to perfection! One issue others might run into on the PS5 version, when you beat the game and do it like I did first without the speedrun and watch the ending and the credits, you'll see The Exchange trophy and The Conclusion trophy pop but if you check your trophy list, it might show The Conclusion as still locked and uncompleted. I worried it glitched and decided to close and reopen the game and it crashed out trying to just close the game and had an error report that needed to be submitted. I reopened the game and The Conclusion trophy still showed as not completed along with The Exchange Speedrun, which I was about to do. So, once I got back in the game, I finished the speedrun and skipped the ending and credits and The Exchange Speedrun and Platinum trophies popped but not The Conclusion, so I tried to close the game again and it crashed again doing so. But luckily after submitting my error report and then checking my trophy list, all 23 showed up then as completed including The Conclusion trophy, finally. Just thought I'd post how I got it to sync and a possible fix in case it happens to others because there is a real issue with the last level and credits crashing the game and not synching that trophy correctly on PS5, but I hope this will help others to know it can be fixed and how. Thanks again Maka and look forward to more guides!
As always super easy to follow guide, I love that these guides I tend to mess up and almost Everytime I do, I panic, that's about the time maka says,"don't panic if u do this wrong just do this instead"😂
there is a much easier way to get the breakout achievement, without having to save and load files: you can pull a lever that is hidden outside of the map under one of the pink squares in the edges of the "lobby" (the one between the house scenes and the scene where they talk about the secret spot). This will open an elevator which you can drop down from, get the achievement and use the elevator to get back up. I uploaded a "guide" on my channel for those that are confused by my explanation😅, dont know if I can post a link to it though.
Thanks Maka. Very easy and clear. I’ve been doing one achievement per day for the game pass rewards. Best thing has been to get to the very end, save the game, then head off and do something and return a few mins later to complete level and get an achievement. Then the next day just reload and finish to get the speed run for that level. So good!
Ive played through the first level, 7 times. My speedrun achievement has never popped for me. I have timed it myself, beating it in under 3 minutes. I have followed makas very simple path to a T. And still no achievement. Any ideas?

I feel, that the achievement "Size Manipulator" is bugged for me. Tried completing The Maquette for probably the 3rd time, and it won't pop. I don't know if it's bugged cause i'm playing on PC.
@@L0SHU i got it using this method. After you grab the ticket and go to the miniature version of everything, "DO NOT DROP THE TICKET" try to fit it in for a couple of seconds inside, and then drop it. Go back for it in the miniature, take the ticket and you can unlock the gate with the achievement.
Same 😅🥲 Edit: It is a lot easier to do the jump on the platform straight ahead on the left side from where he does the jump in the video, as it is slightly closer.
Wow! This game is hitting me deep! The cutscenes are like listening to the last relationship I had...that was with a narcissist! The arguments are so similar, the way the relationship panned out over time...I started playing this randomly because the gameplay concept intrigued me, but there are so many parallels between the storyline and the narcissistic abuse I went through! 🤯
Hello Maka. Can i just ask why is there a necessity for the invert camera in the settings ? Is it achievement related or is it just personal preference ? Thx.
For some reason when I completed The spiral chapter the achievement didn't unlock. Ran through it multiple times. Nothing happened. I couldn't unlock the achievements for the last level either.
I found a glitch on “The Gateways” with the miniature key if you jump with it under you near a house it’ll make you fly and start a cutscene into the next level. I dont exactly knew how i did it but it helps with the speedrun achievements
With the door timer achievement, i found a fast way to cut the time. Move the maquette close to the room where the switch is, them after activating it head back to the maquette and move ths smaller one closer to the closing door. It gives a little more time. Not a lot but just enough.
For the first mission I couldn’t get the achievement cuz it wouldn’t let me skip the first cutscene so I just carried on and got the rest of the achievements and when I went back it let me skip the cutscene and I got it in the first go. I hope this helps👍🏻
Thanks again Maka. Like someone else commented before, I have managed to do 2 100% walkthroughs today thanks to your videos. This one was the most annoying purely because of the speedrun achievements, and some of the (as you say) "finnikey" moments. The pillars in The Spiral level messed me up a few times and I had to reload my manual save a few times before I was actually able to climb them all the way up without getting stuck
I would highly recommend everyone to not go straight for the speed run. The game is pretty great to follow the story for, so just play through each level by following the story and watching the cut scenes, and then go for the speed run of each level. Plus, once you beat a level, it makes it easier for you to know what you need to do.

Honestly i had to have my hand held for this entire game. And now i am stuck in blue house cause the pink crystal in the house will not let me pick it up at all
I skipped a cutscene by pushing the green gem out the doors back the way you enter the house and now I can't interact with the red gem anymore. Completely broke the game 🤣 Can't get back inside the house. Will have to restart my game over if I wanna ever complete the game

You don't even need the stairs. You can just jump & click the bell in the miniature church. But yes, that way still works as of August 2, 2023.

For the garden speed run, you have to skip the first hello sunflower cut scene as well as the end cutscene 😊

Same here. Not one single Speedrun unlocked. I think if you paused the game, the time will still running.

i guess i found out, that leaving the game on pause counts too. i didnt made "the gardens" in under 3 minutes, cause i paused it.😮
Maka says at the beginning of the video that pausing the game pauses the timer

At 37.28 why couldn't you long press Y to teleport back to the Maquette? Would save many valuable seconds on the speed run.

the game crashes after interacting with the owl in the last chapter. any ideas what can i do?

First Speed Run achievement seems bugged. Save file says I'm stuck at 5min even though I'm completing it well under 3min.
Somehow it didn't give me the Size Manipulator achievement. Game completed. All achievements except for Size Manipulator

I would highly recommend everyone to not go straight for the speed run. The game is pretty great to follow the story for, so just play through each level by following the story and watching the cut scenes, and then go for the speed run of each level. Plus, once you beat a level, it makes it easier for you to know what you need to do.
For the ones that dont say they have extra achevements look at the speedrun wedge can be done in 25 secs 1st try

Somehow. My game glitched and finished this “the gateways” for me about half way for me. Got both achievements lol
I had to restart the whole gateways chapter because it wouldn't let me pick up the red crystal after I get the gear for whatever reason lol
