if you notice when rick unfroze the creature, it was suffering (which is the reason he probably froze it in the first place, until he can cure it). So he petted it and then killed it to put it out of its misery. I think he probably did that because he was planning to un alive himself and figured it was a last act of kindness.
Rick got emotionally invested in Unity, and at the end, yes, he tried to off himself because of the intense acute depression from Unity's note and a bit of self-reflection overwhelming his ego. This is a pretty dark episode, but it shows that despite everything, Rick is still human, he still has emotions other than contempt and anger. He still loves, and feels sad when things end.
Similar to other comments but this is a running theme which you also witnessed at the end of Season 1. Rick comes off as cold and unfeeling but like all others masking their pain, it's merely a veil for deep-seated depression, pain and guilt. Unity pushing him away serves as one in a long line of failures (emotional in this case) and we get a glimpse of him allowing himself to feel that pain instead of ignore it and very quickly, we learn just how much pain Bird Person was describing from last season.
remember what Bird Person said 'wubba lubba dub dub' really means... it's lonely at the top... the end of this episode is one to keep in your mind for a good long while
This episode also answers your previous questions about Rick's drool mouth. If you notice there is no drool when he is sober...only after he gets drunk. And the reason he's always getting so drunk is to numb his pain and distract himself from feeling so alone and misunderstood. And then the one being he truly thought he could connect with had no choice but to abandon him, it was too much.
You might wonder why he was doing such an elaborate suicide attempt with those crystals. They can erase something from all realities. So when he killed that creatures he "saved" all the versions from the pain of existance. And he also wanted to kill ALL the versions of rick in all universes. It will explained why he would wanna do such a thing later!
definitely a fun & sad episode. when we get to know a bit more about Rick and his depression (as Bird Person mentioned @ S01E11) we can feel a little bit empathetic to him
Thank you so much, #AllonaShareeTV, for uploading this awesome reaction. I love your anime content very much because it's so cool, and I enjoy watching your reactions to different anime series and TV shows.
this is by FAR the best episode for me … by far !!! rick saying fun is fun but who needs it. after unity left him and he trying to kill himself !! this episode hits harder than depression… every fucking time i watch this episode i cry like shit !!! because a lot of us can relate to rick …
I just couldn't imagine being a super genius who's lost love is an entity that assimilates an entire species. But if i could... the stories i'd have would be insane.
I just had to download that ending song after watching this episode. Rick comes of like a piece of 💩to just about everyone; so when we do see him vulnerable you really feel it.
Also, Rick has a very secretive emotional aspect that drives him. He has never gotten over his wifes death. Then he gets w Unity and it all crumbles on him.

Yeah, one of the cronenburgs from season 1

This is my favorite credits scene. This scene was super deep. This is when I started to realize how deep this show actually is.
Yea. I don't think I was ready.
this show pulls out philosophy and interpersonal relationships out of nowhere sometimes, i can't wait until the therapist episode.

As someone who is severely depressed, this ending kills me.

Remember what Bird Person Told Morty about one of Rick Catchphrases "Wabalabadubdub" Meant. "Help, I'm in great pain" That's Rick
This is a fun parody on “Borg” from Star Trek Beta-7 is actually the same design, assimilation and similar signs are also noticeable
Being Rick is really lonely sometimes
But being rick is also one of the best things one could imagine
@@ashokrai2263 Whats better than being the best? Answer: Failure. Unfortunately, Rick isn't the latter.
10:55 » the giraffe doesn't seem "satisfied" (lol)
I always wonder if that's still Unity in the giraffe's body or if she left that one after the act.
@@lassesipila6418 omg, you just blew my mind 😆😆😆😅😅😅

"This isn't our Jerry" Season 2 Jerry was the best Jerry 😂
its sad cuz unity is the only thing hes loved since beths mom.
Seriously!
I really love Rick and Morty! Some episodes, like this one, starts funny and gets deeper... very nice
the community reference is great too. Definitely a fun show to watch if you get the chance.

This episode has so many layers. İt's amazing. Such genius commentary on how stupid we can be for no reason

Other than comments made by Birdperson this is the first real glimpse of how truly miserable Rick is beneath it all.
It all started w his wife…

“OMGosh it looks like balls slapping each other” 😂 this show gives us some of your best reactions. Also, I feel for grandpa Rick lol
Fun fact: the "Fast and the Furious" movie franchise was almost called "Race Wars". And they changed the name, but not for the obvious reason.
The baby cronenberg at the end always breaks my heart
rick knows how to party 🤣
I always thought it was funny that Jerry acts so different after last episode but I kinda forgot about till now
If you think it's weird for Rick to "date" a hive mind, then just wait until you find out about the planet lol..
This one is the first hard hitter.
7:58 you MCnasty ...."they look like balls slapping each other" Dame I was thing a turkey's neck thing but ok 👍🏾 "slapping BALZZ it is😂🌰🌰
😅🤣🤣
damn! I kinda feel sorry for grandpa rick, I thought those words would never come out of my mouth.
He’s your grandpa too?
_they're making you into a mount rushmore_
Brilliant reaction 🙂
5:24 ...😂😂what happened to fuge nuggets ☠️😅
It's Sunmers fault..lol
Wubba lubba dub dub, am I right?
Gubba nub nub doo rah kah
By the way unity is an "it"
That would make sense.
Dont mind me, just helping the algorithm
And I appreciate that 😁❤

Oh wow. I didn't know that. 🤔
Sorry, but no "beta-7" has ever "saved the day".
😂
The is the ep where the hit rapper drake pops up and started drakeing after stating its Drakeing time
😂
