There is actually a lore accurate way that Cayde-6 can return. In the story mission where he was stuck in the "vex trap" on Nessus. The trap not only teleported Cayde around Nessus, but physically through time as well. Failsafe had records of Cayde from 500+ years in the past and theoretically, also up to 500+ years into the future assuming the trap has an even radius from the trap activation time. So if we grab Cayde from the teleporter in this present moment, we can then, eventually, put Cayde back into the trap, to eventually live though the Red War, to Forsaken, and then die, finally fulfilling the timeline. We could either do a controlled exo reset on him so he has no memory of the future, so when he gets teleported back he won't remember anything. Or, an even sadder alternative would be that he retains all his memories, but just acts as if he doesn't know what's about to happen. Makes the "anyone want a hug" cut-scene in the farm all the more depressing 😭😭
Taking him away from the teleporter BEFORE we free him in the actual timeline would fuck the whole timeline up because that teleporter is malfunctionning in a way specific to the time it started malfunctionning. I'd love to see Cayde come back but it would defeat the whole purpose of the character being dead right now. I'd rather have him dead and keep good memories than playing Supernatural : A Destiny 2 Experience
Probably one of the best parts of the forsaken cutscenes is how well choreographed they were. Compare cayde hopping around throwing knives, supers, and trick shots everywhere to saint sitting in one place shooting things with his shotgun in splicer

The problem is that they're gone now and you can probably see what happened when they left. Since bungie doesn't have the man power or unlimited funding they can't produce something as big or amazing as forsaken again. Luke Smith said something like that during their beyond light reveal stream. The consequences of losing the teams and money is that we have to suffer through the drip feed arc. I honestly think that bungie or at least Luke Smith has turned destiny 2 into a money farming simulator for their new ip "Matter" and other projects. I do think they have the budget but not the man power or they're just being lazy and they know their community will keep buying season after season and eat it up like fucking candy and dump their paychecks into eververse. So basically ez money, I keep buying everything for this game because the amount of time i've spent on it. I literally grew up playing destiny so I wanna see and experience it all until the very end. Sorry this was more of a rant then a discussion/argument.

I just realized that the voice of Riven is actually a Beholder like in D&D, when a beholder sleeps his dreams can become reality which is kinda what Riven and other wish dragons can do in Destiny lore: realize a wish and make it reality.

1:40 The reason they're imprisoned is that you literally can't kill them. Scorn don't die, they literally just respawn. (That and they were probably Eliksni barons turned Scorn, since Fikrul was the first, so they were already imprisoned iirc)
