Wow. That's about as raw as I've ever seen Chester & that's saying a lot since he puts his all into his performances. But this one was different. He was really going through some stuff on that stage for sure. I didn't even notice the other guys on the stage, couldn't take my eyes off Chester baring his soul. The rain made it all the more powerful.

Man, I remember this day - words cannot describe the energy I felt. The rain, the smoke, the band... I'd seen LP play plenty of times before this, but idk, maybe it was all the rain and pot lol
It's crazy to watch him perform like this, knowing how he feels about it, and realize that Mike was the one that wrote it. I think it really speaks to the power of music to transcend personal experience and tap into raw emotion.
Powerful! So full of emotion...Chester was & still is one of the most amazing performers I've ever seen. He holds nothing back...relives the pain & suffering each & every time he performs this song.
you can clearly hear in his voice that he's fighting not to cry. It's understandable if u know his past. never seen a song being performed the first time and being the best performance. (better than rock am ring 2004)
Yes Mike wrote this years earlier, so it's not for Chester, but it applies on him though. This is the first time they played it live, something they had earlier claimed never to do. Great performance, LP rocks!
"The tours we did in the beginning, everybody we toured with was either drinking or doing drugs," Shinoda says. "I can't think of any that were sober. So you take someone who already has a hankering for drugs and … " ... "I partied with everybody," Bennington says. That didn't help build bonds with the rest of the band - who were more into pot and booze, and had no idea their frontman would be sitting on the tour bus tripping. So yes, the others smoked weed, at least during the Meteora tour.
@Excellerators Well Chester has hinted in a recent interview that some or all of them smoke weed. I doubt that's what he was trying to say but it isn't untrue.
Karo 7 No, it's about Chester, search on Internet, you all do this same mistake, Mike initially sad that it wasn't for Chester just only to don't put him on more discomfort, but the sing it's about him.
It took 7 years for Mike to write such a masterpiece...From 1996 he was thinking about this, and the saw Chesters problems, and in 2003 he wrote it...
chester is a great person
Was :(

Now it's RIP.

I was there, singing in the rain. What a memorable concert for sure.
Lucky you.
Chazzyy don't cryyy ;_; ♥
A rare event where the very first live performance of a song is quite arguably the best.
Powerful! So full of emotion...Chester was & still is one of the most amazing performers I've ever seen. He holds nothing back...relives the pain & suffering each & every time he performs this song.
R.I.P. :'(
Creo que Miike era el que menos tomaba o creo que nunca fumo ni consumió drogas, ya que como dice su lider o habla de Chester?
The first time Breaking the Habit was played live.
Thank you for sharing, from the whole LP community, we really appreciate it :)
the sky is also crying !!!
you can clearly hear in his voice that he's fighting not to cry. It's understandable if u know his past.
never seen a song being performed the first time and being the best performance. (better than rock am ring 2004)
so raw it's heartbreaking
best concert I have ever been to...
For anyone that doesn't know.. this was the first time ever performance of Breaking The Habit...
Yes Mike wrote this years earlier, so it's not for Chester, but it applies on him though.

Great performance, LP rocks!
because he really relates to song, thats why it took him a while to sing the song live.
I am f*cking crying, why did I have to watch it?
Beautiful. This is probably the best version of BTH. Chester is amazing!
breaking my heart! ♥♥♥
Wow! That's amazing! Chester struggled, but that was expected at the time. Great performance! They look so young back then.
Best song and best performance. Chester crying or I have glitches.
Wow!!! Thanks for sharing.

Chester did really good for the first time he sang it live.
The best perfomance of breaking the habit!

HEY I WAS THERE HIGH AZ HELL!!
This is the first performance of Breaking the habit.
@Excellerators Well Chester has hinted in a recent interview that some or all of them smoke weed. I doubt that's what he was trying to say but it isn't untrue.
What's sad is, I think only a couple years after this, Chester relapsed and began taking drugs and alcohol again. Though he is totally sober now. :)
internallogic right.
internallogic I miss him :(
If only it stayed that way, man.
seems legit^^
he's sweating, not crying
IM THE ONE CONFUSED!!!
first and the best ;)
@TheMonkeyboy84 Actually it is, 15.11 to be exact
I want that shirt
It's the same guy, Brad Delson, he just grew an afro and a big beard for the last tour. It's pretty short again now actually.
is it raining?
viva colombia y linkin park!!!!!!!!!!!! but come back to LA first lol
Can someone tell me is this the first time chester performed breaking the habit for the first time?
Yes, it is the first time the band performed BTH.
Wow... No wonder late in BTH Chester looked like he was about to cry
This is not true Jay. The song is not about Chester. The song is about an other friend of Mike.
Karo 7 No, it's about Chester, search on Internet, you all do this same mistake, Mike initially sad that it wasn't for Chester just only to don't put him on more discomfort, but the sing it's about him.
No still a myth. It is a nice story every one comes with, but the song is not about chester.
OMG! Chaz is so emo???!!! You like it?! Are you POLACK?! :P
everyone was smoking weed in this crowd lmao
David Dragon of course it was during Cypress Hill’s Smokeout Festival in ‘03
like Chester is about to cry while singing this song... it seems his voice is trembling a bit...
hahah u can see smoke in the lights everybody is smokin buddah
I don't think he ever said heroin.
he must be nervous cuz in every live u could see him sweat
@bracomole got to disagree watch this! its awesome com/watch?v=oxbqvMRz_WQ
Not meth, cocaine.
this was not chesters look, his facial hair doesnt work
linkin park r true pot heads
Actaully I think chester was here before sick or something like that because his voice is going down, but good perfomance at all :)
