    Hello!
    That was a very helpful video!
    Although a don’t breed domestic bettas anymore, from my personal experience, you don’t need the extract or banana leaves, and you forgot to add that first time breeders need to be acquainted for 2-5 days and veterans can be acquainted for only 1-2 days.
    Otherwise, amazing video, con’t wait to see how they grow up!

      hello! thank you so much! yes i added the banana leaves to give them more privacy/ cover as my tank was super bare. also conditioning the pair for 2 weeks is crucial and at this stage they also get to see each other. thanks for stopping by 🙏

    Good setup for breeding! I do the same with my 3 gallon bowls from dollar store! You are making me feel guilty wit your setup, but I have no choice as I do 10-20 breeding pair at same time. 😄👍

      @AquascapeArtVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much! I totally understand your case, this is more suitable for starters and new breeders. 10-20 pairs? Thousands of fry 🤪🤪🤪

    When the female is done and you take her out where does she go/where do you put her
    And also what if you didn’t take the male away, would he eat the fry or would they be able to grow up with him around

    thank you!! so very usefull and good quality. One question: at what age do you start to seperate the young bettas?

    • @AquascapeArtVideos
      @AquascapeArtVideos  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you - good question usually whrn they start becoming territorial… a few months old. I did it when I see aggression so not jarring them all at once.

    Aren’t Robin and Bruceletta sibling? Is that bad to inbreed bettas or is it ok?

    • @AquascapeArtVideos
      @AquascapeArtVideos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello! Short answer is yes it is and it is frequently done to develop new features such as longer fins or colour varieties or other genetic features. Although shouldn’t continually be done to avoid high percentage of malformed or weak fish.

    • @drunkfisherman2136

      Witt Bettas you can breed siblings and their offspring with little to no issues so long as you bring in new non related genetics (outbreeding) to the gene pool every couple generations. The reason people choose to breed siblings is because of phenotype preference...they can be the same genotype but display different color and fin traits...(phenotypes)

    • @touxiong7050
      @touxiong7050 ปีที่แล้ว

      Strengthen the genes

    • @ShaneO-nm2hh
      @ShaneO-nm2hh 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You start with 2 wild or unrelated fish. Pick the traits from the siblings that you are looking for and breed them together (f1). Basically any fish that has colors different to the wild version is line bred/inbred. It occurs with dogs, cats and most species.

    Here in the Philippines, we can provide our own extract and we don't need to buy 😁
    We are lucky because we can get enough supply of the leaves needed for the breeding process. 😊
    We just don't have a heater which is a little not good for us bec the betta fry are dying bec of the weather

    Hi,as a beginner i had a male betta. So i wanted to pair so i brought 2 female bettas. I paired one but male betta didn't build the bubble nest. So after 48 hours i exchange to other tank with another female betta. Then he build the bubble nest but now it's almost 48 hours and no eggs. What is the reason....?

    During conditioning them before breed can I feed them egg yolk instead of live food?

    • @chancecrump9609
      @chancecrump9609 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I can tell, blood worms in any form will work, live worms just tend to have a higher fat content along with higher protein than flake food.
      Dry brine shrimp might be a good additive to use along with the blood worms since they have a higher fat content after freeze drying than blood worms do.

    • @AquascapeArtVideos

      Hi it is normal but you must keep an eye on them sometimes if this goes on too long and the male is too aggressive he might end up injuring her. But yes the biting at the beginning is normal.

      I keep some bettas in my goldfish pond to eat the mosquito larva as the goldfish would rather eat something else. Just the adults as the goldfish would eat the baby bettas. Bettas like the warm top water, the goldfish go towards the lower portions where it is cooler.
