- Here's Ray's classic music video for "Dudley Dorite (Of The Highway Patrol)" which was featured on his 1986 album "Surely You Joust"! This music video was made years later as a part of Ray's 1995 feature film "Get Serious!". You might recognize Buddy Kalb playing Dudley in the video and he also wrote the song for Ray. Check it out and have a laugh!

Don't care what anyone says about Ray Steven's I never get tired of hearing his songs

This doesn't get nearly the accolades that it deserves. One of the best in the collection, especially since it calls back to his other characters!
I love how he referenced so many of his old songs in this one.

He's a literal American treasure.
He is outrageously funny. You can be having the worst of days and all you have to do is listen to a few of his songs and you'll be filled with laughter.
This song, in those particular verses referrences six, or so, of his other songs, and makes the people all basically related! Now, that's genius.
Had my encounter with one here in Colorado. Best part was the next week, the CHP had that same trooper pulled over for speeding....at the same speed trap he'd caught me in. Instant karma!

My grandfather and I used to listen to him together, not only does he make me laugh but also brings back fond memories.
First time Ray Stevens song I ever heard was The Streak followed by The Shriners Convention, and Ahab the Arab on the 100 watt AM station (Actually it was 1,000 watts but what’s a zero among friends) while riding in my mama’s car laughing while we listen going down the road

All the characters we know in love in one place ! Magnificent ! I love that laugh to this day, its that 'I'm gettin' away with it' sort of chortle and the hapless victim/recipient knows they can't do a darned thing to stop whatever comes next.

The Streak was the first song I ever heard of Ray Stevens in 76. We requested it all the time as kids. WGCR radio out of Wellsboro, Mansfield PA. Of course they are long gone, syndicate radio is in control of what is aired now

His real name is Ray Steven Ragsdale.
When he’s not in Branson he lives about 10 miles from me near Douglasville Ga. across from Travis Tritt. He never had a serious thought and never will!!
